- After Trying To Pursue The Cold, Elegant Beauty. I Ended Up Being Flirted With Instead
- Chapter 25 - The Touch
She actually took liberties with the Second Miss of the Li family!
The door of the bar was right next to them, with people constantly going in and out, mostly drunk and staggering.
But no one noticed the corner by the door.
In the darkness, Li Zhiyun’s clear eyes were fixed on Wen Zhu.
Wen Zhu felt a little uneasy under her gaze, her fingertips curling slightly: “Miss Li.”
She explained in a low voice, “There were a lot of people just now, I… I just didn’t recognize you.”
The corner of Li Zhiyun’s mouth curled into a faint arc, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes: “Is that so?”
She asked softly in return, her tone flat, with no discernible emotion.
But it was just these two words that made Wen Zhu feel like the surrounding air had become stagnant.
A sudden sense of aggression emanated from Li Zhiyun.
This feeling of being hermetically sealed by Li Zhiyun’s aura made Wen Zhu feel her blood rushing faster throughout her body.
The rush caused a buzzing in her ears.
She struggled to stabilize her mind and forced out a slightly stiff smile.
“Miss Li, is there anything you need? If not, I’ll be leaving first.”
Before she could finish, Li Zhiyun suddenly blinked, her long eyelashes fluttering.
The next second, her body unexpectedly tilted forward, falling straight towards Wen Zhu.
“My head is so dizzy.”
A low murmur, carrying a somewhat slurred nasal tone.
Wen Zhu didn’t react at all and instinctively reached out to steady her.
The soft body leaned in, bringing with it a cool, clear scent of pear blossoms, mixed with a faint hint of alcohol, which instantly rushed into Wen Zhu’s nostrils.
The person in her arms was very quiet, her steady breathing brushing against the side of Wen Zhu’s neck, bringing a warm dampness.
She just leaned there, motionless.
Wen Zhu’s mind was blank for a moment.
Is this… drunk?
Recalling the aggressive Li Zhiyun from just now, the more Wen Zhu thought about it, the more she felt this was the case.
She tentatively moved and poked Li Zhiyun’s arm: “Miss Li? Are you okay?”
No answer.
Only shallow breathing.
It seemed she was truly very drunk.
Wen Zhu sighed, resignedly steadying Li Zhiyun.
She slipped one arm under Li Zhiyun’s elbow, holding her wrist, while the other carefully circled her waist.
So thin…
As soon as this thought popped up, Wen Zhu suddenly realized what she was thinking.
Her cheeks instantly warmed up, feeling hot.
This thought was too inappropriate.
She quickly composed herself, no longer allowing her mind to wander.
Just then, the car she had called arrived, and the driver leaned out to inquire.
Wen Zhu acknowledged him, then, supporting Li Zhiyun, who had practically put all her weight on her, she moved step by step with difficulty towards the curb.
Li Zhiyun looked only half a head taller than her and was slender.
But when she was supporting her just now, Wen Zhu could feel the smooth lines of her abdomen through the thin white T-shirt.
Her arm muscles were also firm and strong, clearly belonging to someone who exercised regularly.
Honestly, she was hard to move.
It took Wen Zhu some effort to maneuver her into the back seat of the car.
“Driver, please go to…”
Just as Wen Zhu finished giving the Li family’s address, Li Zhiyun next to her stirred.
Then, her head tilted, and she leaned softly against Wen Zhu’s shoulder.
Wen Zhu’s whole body stiffened again.
A warm, soft sensation came from her shoulder, along with that persistent scent of pear blossoms.
She paused for a second, but ultimately did not push her away.
The car drove steadily through the night.
Wen Zhu turned her head and looked out the window.
The neon lights of the city streamed by, pulling long streaks of light across the car window.
She tried to use the night scenery outside the window to distract herself, to make herself ignore the presence of the person beside her.
But she found that she couldn’t do it at all.
Li Zhiyun’s breathing was right by her ear, shallow and rhythmic, yet carrying an undeniable presence.
The warm air brushed against her earlobe again and again, causing a subtle tickle.
Wen Zhu couldn’t help but clutch the hem of her clothes, her palms slick with cold sweat.
The short ten-minute ride now felt incredibly long.
“We’re here,” the driver announced.
Wen Zhu felt immensely relieved, quickly paid the fare, and helped Li Zhiyun out of the car.
Walking into the Li family courtyard, the house was pitch dark.
It was only eight-thirty in the evening; had they gone out for a stroll?
Wen Zhu hesitated at the door.
She couldn’t just leave the Second Miss Li at the doorstep.
She looked at Li Zhiyun, who was still unconscious in her arms, and gritted her teeth.
“Pardon me for the intrusion,” she whispered, then carefully reached into Li Zhiyun’s pocket.
“I just want to get the key to take you inside.”
Her fingertip brushed against a string of cold metal.
Wen Zhu fumbled for the keys, found the corresponding one, and inserted it into the lock.
With a soft “click,” the door opened.
Wen Zhu pushed the door open; the house was dark inside.
She groped along the wall and found the light switch.
“Snap.”
The foyer light came on, and Wen Zhu sighed in relief, just about to help Li Zhiyun to the sofa in the living room.
As she lifted her foot, she seemed to trip over a slightly curled edge of the rug.
She lost her balance, let out a gasp, and uncontrollably tumbled towards the sofa.
Subconsciously, she tried to protect Li Zhiyun in her arms.
As a result, an even heavier force pressed down.
Li Zhiyun fell down with her.
The two of them tumbled onto the soft sofa.
Wen Zhu let out a muffled groan under the weight, but fortunately, her back didn’t hurt.
Perhaps it was due to the coincidence of the falling angle.
She felt a cold, soft sensation on her collarbone.
The sensation was very peculiar, carrying a hint of dampness.
Wen Zhu instinctively turned her head slightly to look.
The next second, she was utterly stunned.
What came into view was Li Zhiyun’s face, close enough to touch, and—
Li Zhiyun’s lips, which were resting on her collarbone!
Wen Zhu: “!!!”
That cold, soft touch felt as if it carried an electric current, instantly spreading throughout her limbs.
Wen Zhu jolted as if she had been electrocuted.
She used almost all her strength to scramble out from under Li Zhiyun, standing panic-stricken in the living room.
She subconsciously touched her collarbone.
The cold, soft sensation from just now seemed to linger there.
It’s over, it’s over!
Only this thought remained in Wen Zhu’s mind.
She actually! She actually took liberties with the Second Miss of the Li family!
Would she be killed by the Li family people?!
