After Transmigrating into an ABO World with My Rival - Chapter 9
Chen Yanzhi felt as if he were trapped in a furnace. He could not break free from Fu Tingyue’s grip, so he remained held in that position and asked, “The Rut?”
Fu Tingyue’s voice was strained, and the sound of him swallowing echoed near Chen Yanzhi’s ear. “Yes. I am entering my Rut.”
Seeing Fu Tingyue in such obvious distress, Chen Yanzhi panicked instantly. “Then what should I do?”
He had only witnessed an Alpha’s Rut once from a distance at the seaside; he had never dealt with one personally. He had no idea what to do, nor did he know if Fu Tingyue was in any danger. For the first time, Chen Yanzhi felt a wave of fear toward this world. He was terrified that something might happen to Fu Tingyue.
Fu Tingyue seemed to sense his unease. Panting, he managed to say, “Zhizhi, do not be afraid. I am fine. I can still maintain my clarity for now. Go downstairs and ask the nanny for the box I had her prepare. Do not tell them I am in my Rut, otherwise they will try to find an Omega for me.”
Hearing this, Chen Yanzhi immediately pushed Fu Tingyue away and stood up. “Okay, I will go right now. Just hold on a little longer.”
Chen Yanzhi ran out before Fu Tingyue could say another word.
Once alone, Fu Tingyue leaned down and sniffed the quilt. A faint trace of Chen Yanzhi’s scent remained. Like a large dog, he pressed closer, wishing he could inhale every microscopic bit of that scent into his lungs. Waves of heat crashed through his body, relentlessly battering his sanity.
He curled up, clutching the blanket tight, his mind filled with Chen Yanzhi’s face.
I want him. But he couldn’t. He would scare him. He could not let the pheromones control him and cause him to do something that would hurt Chen Yanzhi; he would regret it for the rest of his life.
Fu Tingyue kept repeating these psychological anchors to himself, forcedly staying conscious and refusing to be swallowed by the madness of the Rut.
Chen Yanzhi was incredibly tense. He ran downstairs and knocked directly on the nanny’s door. Remembering Fu Tingyue’s warning not to let anyone know, he quickly adjusted his emotions, hiding his worry and trying his best to appear calm.
The nanny looked like she had just been woken up, her eyes half-closed. “Mr. Chen, is something the matter so late at night?”
Chen Yanzhi gave an apologetic smile. “I am sorry to disturb you so late. I am here to get the box Fu Tingyue asked you to prepare earlier.”
The nanny woke up significantly at those words. As she stepped out, she asked, “Has the eldest Young Master’s Rut arrived?”
Chen Yanzhi shook his head. “No. I do not know what kind of whim he’s on, but he insisted I come down and get it for him.”
“The Young Master is likely just worried it might come suddenly. Mr. Chen, please wait a moment; I will go get it.” The nanny turned and walked toward a room at the far end of the first floor.
Chen Yanzhi waited restlessly, his heart heavy with worry. He searched for information about Alpha Ruts on his phone, and the more he read, the more frightened he became. The internet claimed that an Alpha in Rut must have an Omega to pass through it safely. But it was the middle of the night; where was he supposed to find an Omega? Besides, based on what Fu Tingyue said, he clearly did not want one.
All he could do now was pray that the suppressants would help Fu Tingyue get through this safely. He finally understood why Fu Tingyue had said being a Beta was a good thing.
The nanny returned quickly and handed the box to Chen Yanzhi. She said with a smile, “If the Young Master’s Rut does arrive, please inform us, Mr. Chen. We need to make preparations.”
Chen Yanzhi realized almost immediately that “making preparations” meant finding an Omega for Fu Tingyue. But Fu Tingyue was a person, not some animal. He suppressed his displeasure and forced a friendly smile. “Alright. I will head back upstairs to rest now.”
Once he was sure the nanny had left, Chen Yanzhi grabbed the box and rushed to the elevator, frantically pressing the button for the third floor. His heart was racing. He had just read online that if pheromones aren’t released, it can cause damage to an Alpha, even leading to permanent mental impairment in severe cases.
The moment he pushed the door open, he was hit by a concentration of pheromones so high it made him feel physically ill. Since he couldn’t actually smell anything, he could only feel the crushing weight as he moved toward the bed. “Fu Tingyue, are you still awake?”
“Mm,” Fu Tingyue responded sluggishly. Chen Yanzhi tossed the medical box onto the bed and, enduring the discomfort, forced himself to open the window. The feeling of being crushed by a mountain eased slightly.
He took a deep breath, turned back to the bed, and asked, “Which one is the suppressant?”
Fu Tingyue glanced at the box and pointed toward a syringe. Chen Yanzhi picked it up, looking at Fu Tingyue’s arm for a long time before hesitating. “I am afraid to do it.”
“I will do it myself,” Fu Tingyue said. He took the syringe from Chen Yanzhi and, without hesitation, plunged the needle into his skin. As the suppressant entered his system, the tides threatening to swallow his mind receded temporarily, and his crumbling sanity cleared slightly.
He leaned against the headboard for a moment, then said weakly to Chen Yanzhi, “Help me put on the bite guard, and then use the rope to tie my hands.”
He was drenched in sweat, his silk pajamas damp and clinging to him. He looked haggard, and his eyes had grown cloudy.
Chen Yanzhi decisively helped Fu Tingyue out of his wet clothes and wiped him down before asking, “Why do I need to tie you up? Isn’t it over now that you’ve taken the suppressant?”
Fu Tingyue exhaled a long breath, fighting the urge to pounce on Chen Yanzhi. He swallowed hard in an attempt to suppress himself. “I have not fully entered the Rut yet, so I can stay clear. But I am worried I will lose control. Zhizhi, be good. Tie me up.”
The original owner of this body had never had contact with an Omega in over twenty years, so the pheromones had been in a state of constant accumulation. Since this was also Fu Tingyue’s first time experiencing a Rut, he was terrified he would lose control and hurt Chen Yanzhi.
Chen Yanzhi took Fu Tingyue’s burning hand, his brow furrowed with worry. “Fu Tingyue, let’s go to the hospital, okay?”
It was better to be in a hospital than suffering at home; surely the hospital could help him get through this faster.
Fu Tingyue gripped Chen Yanzhi’s hand, his canines beginning to itch. He leaned his head back against the bed, his Adam’s apple bobbing rapidly. “Going to the hospital just means more suppressants. I’d rather stay here. Be good and tie me up, or lock me in here and go to the guest bedroom to rest. Come back in three days to open the door.”
“You want me to lock you in?” Chen Yanzhi looked at him in shock, his expression turning angry. “Do you really think I could do something so heartless?”
“Then tie me up. If you sense any danger, leave immediately. Zhizhi, a Top Alpha out of control is dangerous. I do not want to hurt you. Please, listen to me.”
As Fu Tingyue spoke, he felt the pheromones surging again. He reached for the bite guard and put it on, then handed the pre-prepared rope to Chen Yanzhi to help bind his hands.
Chen Yanzhi hesitated. “Is it really necessary?”
Fu Tingyue stopped talking and began wrapping the rope around his own wrists. However, he couldn’t tie the knot himself. Unable to watch any longer, Chen Yanzhi stepped in to help.
Fu Tingyue’s breathing was shallow. “Tie it in a dead knot. Otherwise, I can easily break out of it.”
Chen Yanzhi paused but ultimately obeyed, tying a firm dead knot. He looked at Fu Tingyue’s bound hands and whispered, “What else can I do to help?”
Fu Tingyue leaned back, his head tilted up as he tried to catch his breath. The bite guard reflected the cold light from the lamp. He said in a raspy voice, “Stay with me for a while. In half an hour, go to the room next door to rest. Come see me tomorrow. Take care of yourself these next two days. Eat well, and remember to take your medicine.”
Chen Yanzhi knit his brows impatiently. “Stop worrying about me. Just rest. I am not going next door; I am sleeping here.”
How could the man worry about his meals and medicine at a time like this?
“Zhizhi, be good…”
“I don’t want to listen. I’m tired.” Chen Yanzhi pulled the blanket over his head and turned his back to Fu Tingyue, pretending to sleep. In reality, he was far too worried to close his eyes.
Fu Tingyue finally stopped speaking. Chen Yanzhi thought he had fallen asleep and peeking out from under the covers, he found Fu Tingyue staring at him with a burning, intense gaze. Chen Yanzhi was startled by the look.
But as he looked into Fu Tingyue’s eyes, his fear vanished. He calmed down and asked, “Are you in pain again? Do you need another shot?”
Before he could finish, Fu Tingyue suddenly lunged forward, pinning Chen Yanzhi beneath him. He panted heavily, nuzzling against the side of Chen Yanzhi’s neck through the bite guard.
Fu Tingyue’s body felt as hard as iron. Because of the sudden impact, Chen Yanzhi was caught off guard; it felt as if his ribs were about to be crushed.
Chen Yanzhi said angrily, “Fu Tingyue, what are you doing?”
Fu Tingyue muttered in an obsessed tone, “Zhizhi… Chen Yanzhi…”
Chen Yanzhi immediately realized something was wrong. Enduring the pain, he cupped Fu Tingyue’s face and looked at his dilated pupils. “Fu Tingyue, what’s wrong?”
Fu Tingyue was breathing heavily, his pupils completely blown. He seemed to have lost his sanity entirely, but he kept whispering Chen Yanzhi’s name.
Chen Yanzhi quickly grabbed his phone to search online. He learned that once an Alpha officially enters the Rut, they lose their reason and instinctively want to mark the person they desire.
Fu Tingyue kept calling his name. Did he want to mark him? But how exactly did marking work?
Just as Chen Yanzhi was about to search for it, the phone was knocked away by Fu Tingyue. The Alpha was now straddling him, his bound hands pressing firmly against Chen Yanzhi’s chest. The tall figure cast a shadow that completely enveloped him.
After being bumped several times, Chen Yanzhi’s temper flared. He cursed through gritted teeth, “Damn it, Fu Tingyue, my phone!”
Fu Tingyue suddenly leaned closer. For the first time, Chen Yanzhi felt the raw, physical pressure of a Top Alpha. He was pinned down by the intense, invisible weight of the pheromones.
Meeting Fu Tingyue’s blurred eyes, he asked warily, “What are you doing?”
Fu Tingyue continued to close the distance. Chen Yanzhi quickly turned his head to the side, and the cold metal of the bite guard touched the skin of his neck. Chen Yanzhi couldn’t help but shiver.
Fu Tingyue mumbled incoherently, “I can’t reach. Zhizhi, why can’t I kiss you?”
Hearing this, Chen Yanzhi turned back in surprise to look at him. “Snap out of it! I am Chen Yanzhi, your best friend.”
Fu Tingyue gave a low, hazy chuckle. “Best friend.”
The cold metal and scorching breath intertwined, making Chen Yanzhi feel uneasy. He reached out to push Fu Tingyue’s face away. “Stop laughing. It’s creepy.”
Fu Tingyue could not control the violent pheromones within him. He lowered his head and leaned against Chen Yanzhi’s hand, gaspingly uncontrollably.
He said in a hoarse voice, “Zhizhi, help me. It hurts so much.”
