After Transmigrating into an ABO World with My Rival - Chapter 1
The sun beat down from high above, and a long queue snaked away from the milk tea shop, stretching as far as the eye could see. Inside the cramped workspace, three employees were squeezed together. The air was thick with the cloying, sweet scent of various syrups, and the stifling heat made one feel nauseous.
A customer urged impatiently, “Hurry up! I’ve been waiting forever. Why is it taking so long?”
The staff were run off their feet, trying to soothe the customers’ tempers without letting their hands stop for a second.
Among them was a young man with a slender build. He wasn’t particularly tall, standing at about 175cm, but his proportions were incredible. Even a standard staff uniform looked expensive on him. His waist was so thin that, cinched by the apron strings, it looked as though it could be circled by a single hand. His straight, long legs were wrapped in low-quality slacks that somehow still looked elegant.
His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, revealing pale forearms. Although he wore a face mask, his eyes were shimmering and expressive. Perhaps due to the heat, the tips of his ears were flushed red, and a layer of sweat beaded on his forehead, giving him a fragile, pitiable look. However, his tightly knitted brows and the blatant irritability in his gaze completely shattered that delicate image.
Aside from the cloying scent of milk tea, there wasn’t a hint of pheromones on him. He was a very beautiful Beta.
Chen Yanzhi frowned as he shook the milk tea with such vigor that his arms were practically throwing off sparks. Yet, the customers at the door continued to badger him.
He slammed the cup onto the counter and turned immediately to start the next order.
A customer instantly blew their top, pointing at Chen Yanzhi’s back and shouting, “What kind of attitude is that? I’ll report you! You’re slow and you have a temper!”
A young female coworker quickly stepped in with a forced smile. “I’m so sorry! My colleague isn’t feeling well today, and we’re just overwhelmed. I’ll give you this order at half price.”
Only then was the customer appeased, grumbling as they took their drink and left.
Noon was always the busiest time. Every day after the rush, Chen Yanzhi felt like his right arm was useless. When he tried to eat, his hands shook so much he couldn’t even hold his chopsticks steady; it was as if he had Parkinson’s.
Frustrated, Chen Yanzhi slammed his chopsticks down, losing his appetite completely.
If he hadn’t suddenly ended up in this world, he’d be lounging in a massive villa right now, eating imported organic food. If he wanted, there would be plenty of people lined up just to feed him.
Before this, Chen Yanzhi couldn’t have imagined how unlucky a person could be. Now, he knew.
A month ago, after his college entrance exam results came out, confirming his spot at the country’s top university, he had gone on a graduation trip. A beautiful life and a bright future were waiting for him. Who could have guessed that his tour bus would be caught in a landslide? The vehicle plunged halfway down the mountain, and when he opened his eyes again, he was in this strange world.
Here, he wasn’t the pampered Young Master Chen. He had no villa, and his parents weren’t around to deposit millions into his bank account on a whim.
He had been thrust into a classic “dog blood” web novel plot. He had transmigrated into the body of an orphan who shared his name. He went from being a sought-after socialite to a service worker everyone felt entitled to yell at.
During this past month, Chen Yanzhi had worked odd jobs to survive while figuring out the gender dynamics of this world: Alpha, Beta, and Omega.
Betas were essentially ordinary people. They had no pheromones, no heat cycles, and couldn’t be marked. Alphas and Omegas were the destined partners. They possessed pheromones and could soothe each other’s ruts and heats. Omegas were naturally vulnerable, protected by a mountain of government laws, while Alphas were naturally superior, holding most of the power. Betas, while unremarkable, were seen as the natural-born laborers of society, making it easy to find work.
But since the original owner of his body had no money and no degree, Chen Yanzhi could only find work shaking milk tea. For the young master, this was nothing short of torture, but being alone in this world, he had to rely on his own two hands.
Actually, for the past month, he had also been trying to find the other people from the bus, specifically Fu Tingyue.
Fu Tingyue was his rival. They had been at odds since childhood. More accurately, Chen Yanzhi unilaterally disliked Fu Tingyue, thinking he was a total poseur. Their parents, however, were very close, which is why they had been sent on the trip together.
Chen Yanzhi remembered it vividly. Just before the bus lost control, Fu Tingyue had pulled him into his arms, repeatedly telling him it was okay. As the bus fell, Fu Tingyue had even used his own body to shield Chen Yanzhi. Chen Yanzhi had been too terrified to hear what Fu Tingyue said at the very end.
Since he was here, maybe Fu Tingyue was too. They might have transmigrated into different bodies with different names and faces. Not everyone could be as lucky as him, ending up in a body that looked exactly like his old self with the same name, even if the family background was a disaster.
As Chen Yanzhi was lost in thought, his ear was suddenly yanked hard. The manager’s enraged voice boomed in his ear: “Chen Yanzhi! How many times is this already this month? If you can do the job, do it. If not, get the hell out!”
The moment his ear was touched, Chen Yanzhi’s instincts kicked in, and he gave the manager a clean shoulder throw. Ignoring the stunned expressions of the manager and his coworkers, he rubbed his ear and said coldly, “Deduct the fine from my salary. Don’t put your hands on me.”
In his entire life, no one had ever dared to pull his ear.
The manager scrambled up from the floor, rubbing his bruised rear and shouting, “Fine! You want to assault your manager? Your salary for this month is gone!”
Chen Yanzhi stopped, turning to look at the manager. The overhead lights hit his face, making his beautiful features look ominous. “Are you sure you want to call that an assault?”
If he was going to be accused of it, he might as well make it worth his while. He had been sick of this “big man in a small pond” manager for a long time.
Terrified by his gaze, the manager took a timid step back. “But… your service attitude was bad today. Two hundred yuan deduction!”
Chen Yanzhi didn’t care. He took off his apron and walked out.
Two coworkers hurried after him, pleading, “Don’t fight with him! What if he makes your life a living hell?” “Yeah, he only acts like that because he thinks we’re young and easy to bully.”
Like him, both were Betas. One was a girl working a summer job who had suffered countless slights over the past month.
“Giving in only makes people push harder,” Chen Yanzhi said flatly and kept walking. He had never been taught the concept of endurance. Even alone in an alien world, he wouldn’t learn how to swallow his pride.
His coworkers sighed and shook their heads. Although Chen Yanzhi looked to be about their age, he was covered in thorns. Ever since he arrived, the manager had actually behaved much better than usual. They were worried that if he got fired, things would go back to the way they were.
Chen Yanzhi didn’t understand their worries. When he first arrived, he was indeed a mess with zero life skills. The original owner only had a few thousand yuan left, less than his primary school pocket money. Having no sense of financial planning, he spent it all on expensive meals before realizing he needed a job to pay the rent.
Today was his thirtieth day on the job. He had exactly twenty yuan left. Dinner tonight was going to be a cheap street pancake. Despite living in a basement smaller than ten square meters, he had used his first paycheck to buy a pair of mid-tier luxury shoes and decent clothes. After that spree, he was nearly broke, eating only one meal a day. His already thin face had grown even sharper.
In the afternoon, the crowd thinned slightly, but Chen Yanzhi was still busy. It was dinner time, and having skipped lunch, he was feeling lightheaded. He had to keep pushing. The shop was in the city center with massive foot traffic; they usually didn’t close until 11 PM.
He skillfully placed a fruit tea on the counter. “Orange Iced Tea, 30% sugar. Enjoy.” He turned back to check the next order.
Suddenly, there was a commotion outside. A coworker gasped, “Holy crap, look at that entrance!”
Chen Yanzhi didn’t care; he just wanted to finish his shift. But then, as if by instinct, he looked toward the door.
A fleet of luxury cars had pulled up at the curb. Bodyguards in matching black suits stepped out and respectfully opened the car door. Flashy. I used to show off like that too, Chen Yanzhi thought bitterly. He was about to look away when he caught sight of a familiar face.
His pupils shrank, and he forgot to breathe. The milk tea in his hand, not yet sealed, splashed over his hand, sticky and cold. He didn’t notice. His eyes were locked onto the young man surrounded by bodyguards.
The other man was looking at him too. Those eyes, Chen Yanzhi would never forget them in a lifetime. It was Fu Tingyue.
His nose suddenly stung, and his vision blurred. While everyone else was frozen in shock, the manager saw an opportunity and stormed over. “Chen Yanzhi! Slacking off again? Get out if you don’t want to work!”
Chen Yanzhi didn’t hesitate. He poured the iced milk tea directly over the manager’s head. He slammed the empty cup down, letting it bounce twice on the floor. He ripped off his mask and hat, then threw his apron right into the manager’s face.
“I quit! Go to hell, you piece of trash!”
He pushed past his stunned coworkers and customers, practically flying down the steps. He went from a fast walk to a full-on sprint.
Fu Tingyue had only come because a subordinate reported a shop worker named Chen Yanzhi nearby. He hadn’t held much hope, but he couldn’t live with himself if he didn’t check. He wasn’t sure if Chen Yanzhi would look the same, but the moment he saw the boy douse someone in milk tea and start cursing, Fu Tingyue was 100% certain: that was Chen Yanzhi. Only he could be that lawless.
Chen Yanzhi had intended to give Fu Tingyue a punch, but before his fist could land, his body went limp and he fell toward Fu Tingyue. Damn it. Too hungry. Hypoglycemia.
Fu Tingyue caught him immediately, his face full of concern. “What’s wrong?” Chen Yanzhi slid down to sit on the ground, leaning weakly against Fu Tingyue’s leg. “Low blood sugar…”
“Does anyone have chocolate?” Fu Tingyue looked back at his hulking bodyguards, momentarily feeling stupid for asking. A massive bodyguard sheepishly pulled a pink-wrapped chocolate from his pocket. “Sir, I have some.”
Fu Tingyue didn’t care about the packaging. He unwrapped it and fed it to Chen Yanzhi before sending someone for water. After two chocolates and half a bottle of water, Chen Yanzhi rested against Fu Tingyue’s expensive slacks. The fear of being alone and the humiliation of the past month finally boiled over. He grabbed Fu Tingyue’s leg and began to wail:
“Fu Tingyue, you heartless jerk! You have luxury cars and bodyguards, while I’ve been suffering here!”
Fu Tingyue sighed, his heart aching as he stroked Chen Yanzhi’s head. His gaze was incredibly tender. “I’m sorry. I’m late. Zhizhi has suffered.”
Normally, being called that or having his head touched would make Chen Yanzhi explode. But right now, he didn’t care. Fu Tingyue was here. He wasn’t alone anymore.
Chen Yanzhi didn’t care. He looked past the noisy crowd at the young man surrounded by bodyguards.
The other man was also looking at him. Those eyes were something Chen Yanzhi would never forget in his lifetime. It was Fu Tingyue. A sudden wave of bitterness stung his nose, and his vision began to blur.
The others had already recovered from their shock, but Chen Yanzhi was still dazed. The manager finally found an opportunity and rushed forward, yelling at him, “Chen Yanzhi! Slacking off again? If you don’t want to work, then get the hell out!”
Splash! Without hesitation, Chen Yanzhi poured the iced milk tea in his hand directly over the manager’s head. With a loud clatter, he slammed the empty cup down, and it bounced twice on the ground before coming to a rest.
He ripped off his mask and hat, then yanked off his apron and threw it right into the manager’s face.
“I quit! Go to hell, you piece of trash!”
As he spoke, he pushed past his stunned colleagues and customers. Chen Yanzhi shoved the manager aside, squeezed through the crowd, and hurried down the steps to stand in the middle of the square, staring at the man across from him.
What started as a fast walk quickly turned into a full sprint.
Previously, when Fu Tingyue heard from his subordinates that there was an employee named Chen Yanzhi at a milk tea shop near People’s Square, he hadn’t held much hope. However, he couldn’t rest until he saw for himself, so he decided to try his luck.
He wasn’t sure if Chen Yanzhi would look the same as before, but the moment he saw him drench the manager and start cursing, Fu Tingyue was certain it was him. Only Chen Yanzhi could be that lawless.
Chen Yanzhi wanted to give Fu Tingyue a punch, but before his fist could land, his body went limp and he collapsed against him.
Damn it. I’ve been hungry for too long. My hypoglycemia is kicking in.
Fu Tingyue quickly reached out to support him, his face full of concern. “What happened to you?”
Chen Yanzhi slid down to sit on the ground, leaning weakly against Fu Tingyue’s leg. “Low blood sugar…”
“Does anyone have chocolate?” Fu Tingyue looked back at the group of hulking bodyguards, suddenly feeling a bit foolish for asking.
A burly, tall bodyguard sheepishly pulled a pink-wrapped chocolate from his pocket and handed it over. “Young Master, I have some here.”
Fu Tingyue didn’t waste any time. He tore open the wrapper and fed a piece to Chen Yanzhi, then sent someone to buy water.
After eating two pieces of chocolate and drinking half a bottle of water, Chen Yanzhi rested against Fu Tingyue’s leg for a while before finally starting to recover.
He looked at the row of luxury cars in front of him, then touched the high-quality fabric of Fu Tingyue’s trousers. The panic of arriving in a strange world alone and the grievances he had endured during this time suddenly exploded. He grabbed Fu Tingyue’s leg, crying and cursing at the same time.
“Fu Tingyue, you heartless jerk! You’re riding in luxury cars with bodyguards while I’m here suffering…”
Fu Tingyue sighed and reached out to stroke Chen Yanzhi’s head, his eyes filled with heartache. “I’m sorry. I came late. You’ve suffered, Zhizhi.”
Normally, Chen Yanzhi would have exploded if someone called him that, let alone touched his head. But right now, he didn’t care about any of that. Fu Tingyue was here. He wasn’t alone anymore.

Recommended Upcoming Story: After the Beautiful Brat and the Wealthy Mogul’s Arranged Marriage
Synopsis: Beautiful, high-maintenance, and sickly young master (Uke) x Powerful, high-status “daddy-type” mogul (Seme)
Jiang He was cheated on. The scumbag told him he was too “extra” and annoying, claiming no one could ever love him. Jiang He threw a massive tantrum and insisted on marrying the scumbag’s young uncle. His parents couldn’t withstand his constant pestering and finally agreed.
After the marriage, Jiang He faced a cold husband. Like a chirping little bird, he followed Qi Hanchuan around every day. He pushed open Qi Hanchuan’s door wearing new clothes and asked, “Hubby, do I look good in this?”
Qi Hanchuan’s expression was cold. “Don’t call me that.” Jiang He pretended to be confused. “Then what should I call you? You are my husband.” Qi Hanchuan said sternly, “Call me by my name.”
Jiang He shook his head and offered a list of alternatives. “Daddy, Uncle, Master, Brother… pick whichever one you like.” Qi Hanchuan looked up at the beautiful boy in front of him and sighed, rubbing his forehead. “Just call me Hubby.” Jiang He beamed. “Okay, Hubby! So, do I look good?” Qi Hanchuan glanced at him and replied coolly, “Yes.”
Jiang He was the most beautiful person he had ever seen, but also the biggest troublemaker. Qi Hanchuan didn’t love Jiang He, but as the elder, he did his best to respect and care for him. Jiang He didn’t love Qi Hanchuan either; he only married him to spite the scumbag ex. Seeing the scumbag’s face turn green while having to call him “Auntie” made Jiang He incredibly happy.
He originally planned to divorce Qi Hanchuan once he’d had his fun, but over time, he realized Qi Hanchuan was actually a very kind and gentle man. When he was sick, Qi Hanchuan cared for him personally. When he wanted cake from a shop across town, Qi Hanchuan braved the rain to buy it. When he was bullied, Qi Hanchuan stood up for him. When he was upset, Qi Hanchuan would comfort him gently.
But when someone asked Qi Hanchuan if he liked Jiang He, Qi Hanchuan said no. The young master was heartbroken and ran back to his parents’ house, demanding a divorce. He was done with Qi Hanchuan; the man was a liar.
Qi Hanchuan came to the house to apologize, but the young master refused to forgive him. He said many hurtful things and even revealed his true motive for the marriage. Instead of getting angry, Qi Hanchuan said, “I know. I don’t blame you.”
Jiang He lied through his teeth. “But I hate you! I want a divorce!” Qi Hanchuan’s eyes darkened. “Divorce?” Jiang He puffed out his chest defiantly. “Yes, divorce!”
The next moment, he was hoisted over Qi Hanchuan’s shoulder and carried home, where he was thoroughly teased. Qi Hanchuan leaned into his ear and asked hoarsely, “Baby, still want a divorce?” Jiang He gritted his teeth and cursed, “You beast!” As soon as the words left his mouth, his lips were sealed by Qi Hanchuan, who teased him until his eyes were brimming with tears.
