After Transmigrating into a Scummy Alpha, I Became a Tool Person - Chapter 1
“Xie Yinian, have you made up your mind yet?”
An impatient voice snapped her back to reality.
Xie Yinian turned toward the speaker—a woman with sleek black hair that fell past her shoulders, a delicate face the size of a palm, and a pair of fox-like eyes with a small tear mole at the corner. Her lips were tinted a vibrant watermelon red.
The woman’s gaze was cold and distant, and for a moment, Xie Yinian froze.
It all came rushing back—last night she’d been reading an ABO web novel out of boredom. The story was halfway through, featuring a scummy Alpha who, by sheer coincidence, shared her exact name. She had just reached a juicy part when the author suddenly stopped updating. Frustrated, she had gone to sleep and somehow woken up inside the novel itself.
In the story, the original Xie Yinian was inexplicably pursued by the heroine, who proposed marriage. The original had readily agreed, only to later reveal her true colors—cheating on her wife and even abusing her. Eventually, the heroine, pushed past her limits, had taken a knife and cut out the Alpha’s glands, completely destroying her.
At that thought, Xie Yinian felt a chill run down her neck.
The woman before her frowned slightly and repeated, her tone edged with irritation, “Well? Have you decided?”
Xie Yinian swallowed hard. “Y-Yeah. I’ve decided.”
The woman nodded, giving a subtle signal with her chin. Her assistant immediately pulled a folder from her bag and handed it over.
“Miss Xie, this is the marriage agreement. Once you sign, President Xia will pay you five million yuan when the cooperation ends.”
Five million?
Xie Yinian nearly choked on her own breath. That was way too much money!
She lowered her gaze, fingers brushing over the contract paper as she read carefully.
According to the terms, during the cooperation period, neither party was allowed to date anyone else—President Xia’s reputation was paramount. Xie Yinian would also have to play along in front of her parents to maintain the act. Once the contract ended, she’d receive the full payment.
If she refused, she’d be kicked out—and the five million would vanish like smoke.
Five million! Who in their right mind would turn that down?
Her eyes sparkled. Without hesitation, she grabbed the pen and signed her name.
As long as she didn’t cheat or commit domestic violence, she’d be fine. And now that she had taken over the body of the “scummy Alpha,” her main goal was to steer the story away from that doomed trajectory.
Finishing her signature, Xie Yinian capped the pen and grinned. “All done.”
The assistant took one copy and handed the other to President Xia. Xia Qiqi gave it a cursory glance, nodded, and stood up. As she passed by, she said coolly, “Get in the car. We’re going to the Civil Affairs Bureau.”
Xie Yinian blinked. Wait—already?
They’d just signed the contract, and they were heading straight to get the marriage certificate?
Clutching her copy of the contract, she hurried after them.
Outside the villa, a driver was already waiting. Xia Qiqi took the front passenger seat, while Xie Yinian and the assistant sat in the back.
Trying to make conversation, Xie Yinian leaned toward the assistant. “Is your President Xia always this cold? I don’t think I’ve seen her smile once.”
The assistant waggled a finger. “You don’t get it—she’s the quiet, repressed type.”
Xie Yinian glanced toward the front. Xia Qiqi sat upright in her crisp business suit, her white blouse buttoned all the way up to the collar, the picture of professional restraint.
If this was written in a novel, yeah—she totally fit the “cold on the outside, secretly passionate” archetype. That contrast alone was deadly.
When they arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau, the assistant immediately straightened up, putting on her most professional demeanor.
Xia Qiqi stepped out first; Xie Yinian followed behind. Inside, a clerk looked up from the computer, eyes darting between them.
“Here to register a marriage?”
“Yes,” Xia Qiqi replied simply.
“Please present your IDs and household registration books. I’ll process it right away.”
They handed over the documents and waited on the chairs nearby. After about ten minutes, the clerk returned, stamping the bright red marriage certificates and sliding them across the desk with a polite smile.
“Congratulations. Wishing you both a happy marriage.”
“Thank you,” Xia Qiqi said, taking the booklets.
Once they stepped outside, Xia Qiqi turned and said matter-of-factly, “Move in with me tomorrow.”
Xie Yinian blinked. “Move in?”
Xia Qiqi’s gaze flicked toward her. “This marriage is for show. You need the money; I need to appease my parents. If we live separately after getting married, they’ll get suspicious. Besides, as per the contract, you’re required to follow all my arrangements during the cooperation period.”
That actually made sense. And honestly, moving in meant free food and accommodation.
“Sure,” Xie Yinian agreed easily. “I’ll move in tomorrow.”
Xia Qiqi gave a small nod before getting back into the car with her assistant.
Watching the car drive away, Xie Yinian stood there in thought.
Why did she feel like she was becoming some kind of freeloading kept woman?
Shaking her head to clear the thought, she turned toward the bus stop.
After a few stops, she got off the bus and made her way back to the original owner’s apartment, using the memories in her head as a guide.
Closing the door behind her, she sat on the bed, replaying the host body’s past.
The original Xie Yinian had been an only child—lazy, spoiled, and aimless. She spent her days at home gaming, living off her parents’ money. Even the few thousand yuan left in her WeChat balance were parental handouts. A textbook mooch.
Xie Yinian sighed, then sat down at the desk, turning on the computer. She downloaded a digital drawing program and started sketching.
Before being transmigrated, she had been a freelance comic artist—quite a successful one, too. Her webcomics had gone viral, even getting published. This time, she would start over from scratch.
With that thought, she exited the drawing app, opened Taobao, and ordered a tablet and stylus—ready to get back to work.
