After Transmigrating into a Book, I Had a Flash Marriage with the Beautiful Crazy Villain - Chapter 25.3
Did they really think they could lay hands on what was hers and get away with it? Perhaps she had been too lenient lately.
Song Qingyi mused idly.
Before leaving, she stepped into the bathroom, meticulously reapplying her makeup as if nothing had happened.
As the door opened, she was met with an unexpected figure. Song Qingyi’s eyes lifted, cold and sharp.
“Consider your tip-off and your loose tongue even. Any objections?”
Though phrased as a question, her tone left no room for argument.
The woman laughed bitterly. “Then I should thank you for your mercy.”
Song Qingyi ignored her, the hem of her dress slicing through the air like a blade as she turned away.
The woman watched her retreating figure, emotions churning in her eyes resentment, regret, but ultimately resignation.
What was never hers could never be held.
With a quiet sigh, the woman murmured, “How enviable… This is no mere stand-in, could it be the real deal after all?”
If so, then there really was no competing.
The unspoken words settled heavily in her heart.
When Chu Ling woke, her head felt heavy, throbbing with pain at the slightest movement.
Her memories were a jumbled mess. Even as her mind slowly booted up, it took her a long moment to regain her bearings, as if she had lost all sense of time.
The chaotic recollections persisted for about two minutes before finally settling and then, Chu Ling realized something was off.
A bad premonition crept over her.
Steeling herself, she turned her head stiffly to glance beside her.
Bad news: There really was someone lying next to her.
Good news: It seemed to be Song Qingyi.Wait, no!
How was that good news?!
A shudder ran through Chu Ling as she forced herself to stay calm, rapping her knuckles against her temple in an attempt to recall what had happened the night before.
Yet her alcohol-addled mind was a complete mess, she was outrageously drunk!
Who on earth gets drunk on fruit wine?
Haha, that would be her.
Chu Ling mentally berated herself before snapping back to reality as her thoughts began to stray.
With a grave expression, she studied Song Qingyi’s sleeping face.
Her first thought: Song Qingyi looks even more beautiful when asleep!
Her second thought: Did anything happen between us last night?
Of course, she wasn’t worried about herself, she was terrified that, in her drunken state, she might have revealed her true nature and forced herself on Song Qingyi.
Which wasn’t entirely impossible.
Chu Ling’s pupils trembled in shock, but she couldn’t exactly inspect Song Qingyi directly. So, she opted to check herself for any unusual signs first.
After a quick once-over, she sighed in relief. Nothing seemed out of place meaning the two of them most likely hadn’t done anything last night.
But just as she relaxed, subtler sensations began surfacing.
Chu Ling realized her wrists and lips felt sore.
She glanced at her wrist first and gasped.
Small red marks dotted her otherwise flawless skin, and most damningly, they looked unmistakably like hickeys.
A chill ran down her spine. Moving as quietly as possible, she got up and hurried to the bathroom.
The reflection in the mirror showed lips that were unnaturally red and swollen, as if she’d eaten something extremely spicy.
There was no mistaking it, this had to be from kissing!
Chu Ling was certain she wasn’t mistaken. Even if she’d never experienced it firsthand, she knew what it looked like!
Anyone who saw her like this would assume things had gotten heated!
Yet the rest of her body showed no signs of anything unusual.
Lost in thought, it was only now that she belatedly noticed her clothes had been changed into a soft, clean nightgown. Her makeup had been removed, leaving her skin smooth, and her hair looked freshly washed.
In short, she’d been thoroughly cleaned up.
Thinking of Song Qingyi still lying in bed, Chu Ling hesitantly reached a conclusion.
Could it be, that Song Qingyi had taken care of her?
A mix of surprise and inexplicable excitement bubbled up inside her. Scratching her cheek sheepishly, she felt a little embarrassed.
Had she caused Song Qingyi any trouble in her drunken state last night?
Probably not, right?
The more she thought about it, the less certain she became, agonizing over it without reaching any clear answer.
Then, movement at the doorway caught her attention. She turned to see Song Qingyi leaning against the frame, watching her with a slightly peculiar gaze.
Chu Ling froze.
“Uh, you’re awake? Wait, how long have you been standing there?”
She stared at Song Qingyi, horrified.
Song Qingyi’s lips curled slightly. “Not long. Maybe two minutes after you came in.” Her eyes swept over Chu Ling’s face. “Your expressions were quite lively.”
So Song Qingyi had seen everything!
Chu Ling went numb, wide-eyed as she scrambled to escape this awkward situation.
Song Qingyi didn’t stop her, gracefully stepping aside to let her pass.
Only after sitting back on the bed did Chu Ling suddenly bolt upright again.
“Wait a second, Song Qingyi, why were we sleeping together? And also,” She hesitated, fidgeting before finally asking with utmost sincerity, “Last night, I was drunk. You know that, right?”
Song Qingyi arched a brow. “So?”
Chu Ling steeled herself. “So, did I do anything to you that was um, inappropriate or made you angry or uncomfortable?”
As she spoke, Chu Ling’s voice gradually weakened. Mainly because she realized that Song Qingyi didn’t seem to have anything on her either?
Judging by their current states, if anyone had been taken advantage of, shouldn’t that person be her instead?
The moment this thought crossed her mind, Song Qingyi let out a soft chuckle. Chu Ling glanced over and saw her enigmatic smile.
That smile sent a shiver down her spine.
“Wait! Did I really do something to you? No way, right? I was drunk, I couldn’t have been that terrible! And stop laughing, your smile is creeping me out, ahhh!”
Chu Ling had to admit, she was starting to panic.
This was the obsessive, terrifying villain from the novel! If she really had done something to Song Qingyi, wouldn’t she come after her for revenge later?
The villain was supposed to be in love with the female lead, damn it!
This was not good! She had already been working hard to avoid ending up like the original story, but now, instead of provoking the female lead, she had somehow provoked the villain?!
Was this right? Was this reasonable? Was there really no problem here?!
Chu Ling slumped back onto the bed in a daze, staring blankly at the ceiling.
Song Qingyi frowned, puzzled by Chu Ling’s reaction. Just as she was about to say something, Chu Ling suddenly sat up again, her expression deadly serious as she looked at her.
Song Qingyi paused, deciding not to speak first, instead leisurely waiting to see what Chu Ling would say.
Sure enough, the next second, Chu Ling spoke up. “Tell me, what exactly did I do to you last night? I need to figure out if there’s any way to fix this.”
Song Qingyi: “…”
This was hard to describe, but it didn’t stop her from feeling amused.
So, under Chu Ling’s uneasy gaze, Song Qingyi slowly parted her lips. “Well then, I suppose I’ll have to think carefully.”
