After Transmigrating into a Book, I Had a Flash Marriage with the Beautiful Crazy Villain - Chapter 12
Early the next morning, Chu Ling woke up groggily and instinctively tried to roll over. But the moment she moved, a wave of soreness surged through her body, jolting her fully awake.
Her eyes widened in disbelief was this really her own body?
At that moment, regret washed over her. Why hadn’t she resisted the temptation of beauty? She began questioning herself.
Chu Ling, oh Chu Ling, do you really love hiking that much? Huh? Was climbing mountains with a pretty sister really that enjoyable?!
After a moment of serious contemplation, she still had to admit yes, it had been fun. Even if the aftermath was now utterly miserable.
Well, she deserved this.
With a resigned sigh, Chu Ling painstakingly dragged herself out of bed. When she stood up, her legs nearly gave out, almost sending her crashing to the floor.
In her current half-crippled state, there was no way she could get anything done today.
Great. Based on her extensive experience, she’d probably be bedridden for days before recovering.
After taking a moment to adjust, she wobbled unsteadily into the bathroom. Once she’d freshened up, she teetered her way out of the room.
It was Saturday, and Song Qingyi hadn’t left the house. The moment Chu Ling stepped into the living room, she spotted her by the balcony, absorbed in a book.
Morning sunlight, floor-to-ceiling windows, a beautiful woman reading, the scene was nothing short of picturesque. But despite its allure, Chu Ling reluctantly shattered the tranquility.
Mainly because she couldn’t control her weak legs. Every time she bent them even slightly, an overwhelming urge to kneel surged through her.
Suppressing this impulse was utterly exhausting.
So she could only shuffle forward slowly, her feet moving in stiff, parallel steps. The sound of her slippers dragging across the floor inevitably drew Song Qingyi’s attention.
“You’re up. How are you feeling?”
As she spoke, Song Qingyi set her book aside and walked toward Chu Ling.
Noticing how effortlessly Song Qingyi moved, without a trace of discomfort, Chu Ling realized Song Qingyi was completely fine. So this was truly a world where only she suffered.
Unable to hold back any longer, Chu Ling wailed dramatically, “Aah! I’m ruined, Song Qingyi! Are my legs even still attached? Are they?! I can’t even control them anymore!”
For a fleeting second, Chu Ling thought she saw Song Qingyi smile.
Assuming it was a hallucination, she blinked rapidly and looked again but no, Song Qingyi was definitely smiling.
And it wasn’t just a faint smile. Chu Ling could tell she was genuinely amused.
Dazed for a moment by her beauty, Chu Ling snapped back to reality and gasped in disbelief. “How could you?! I’m like this, and you’re laughing at me?! You’re mocking me, aren’t you? You totally are!”
At this point, it didn’t matter if Song Qingyi was her goddess or not Chu Ling was consumed by indignation at being laughed at.
Song Qingyi found her reaction even more entertaining and couldn’t help but chuckle, which only earned her another round of protests from Chu Ling.
Watching the scene unfold, Song Qingyi felt a brief flicker of something nostalgia, perhaps.
But standing face-to-face like this, it was too easy for her emotions to show. So she quickly schooled her expression, though a trace of amusement still lingered in her eyes.
She stepped forward and gently patted Chu Ling’s head. “There, there, don’t be upset. This is completely normal. After all, you don’t usually exercise, you’ll feel better in a few days.”
Head pats!
Chu Ling instinctively wanted to nuzzle into the touch, but she restrained herself!
She looked up at Song Qingyi with an accusing gaze. “I’m not a child. Who comforts someone like this. And it’s not just my legs that hurt, my whole body aches, like I’ve been beaten up…”
How tragic.
She hadn’t noticed it before, but now that she focused on it, Chu Ling felt a wave of despair. The soreness was absolutely overwhelming, enough to make her vision go dark for a second.
Drooping her head limply, she mumbled, “I feel awful, Song Qingyi.”
Under normal circumstances, Chu Ling would never say something like this her logic and rationality would never allow it. But today, perhaps because she was genuinely uncomfortable, her brain short-circuited. Only after speaking did she realize how much her words sounded like she was whining…
Oh no! Did she just whine at Song Qingyi?!
Chu Ling froze, not daring to look at Song Qingyi’s expression for a long moment, terrified that the next words out of her mouth would be a reminder to “know her place.”
Just as Chu Ling’s mind raced, trying to figure out how to brush it off, Song Qingyi spoke. Unexpectedly, her expression was calm, as if she hadn’t noticed anything unusual.
“Mm, I see. In that case, let’s take you to soak in a hot spring. It was my idea to go hiking, after all.”
At those words, Chu Ling immediately perked up.
Great, Song Qingyi didn’t overthink it!
And she was taking her to a hot spring!
Wait, taking her where? A hot spring???
Was this, a hot spring she was allowed to go to?
Chu Ling swallowed hard, suddenly nervous.
She wanted to say she’d rather not go, that she’d recover in a week or so anyway. But when she looked up, Song Qingyi was no longer standing across from her.
Chu Ling glanced around and saw her on the phone. Less than a minute later, Song Qingyi hung up and said, “It’s all arranged. We’ll head over soon. The hot spring resort has plenty of services, they might help you recover faster.”
That was true, but!!!
A hot spring. Her and Song Qingyi. How did those words even go together?!
Chu Ling couldn’t help but feel excited, though of course, she wasn’t overthinking it. Even if Song Qingyi wore a swimsuit, she’d only look at her with an appreciative gaze!
After all, Song Qingyi only had eyes for the female lead in every sense.
With that thought, Chu Ling instantly tossed her embarrassment aside.
And with the hot spring trip as a stimulant, she felt a renewed surge of energy. Even though getting in and out of the car still made her sore to the point of nearly losing control of her facial expressions, she stubbornly insisted on doing everything herself.
They arrived at the hot spring resort early, just in time to have lunch there.
Song Qingyi had booked a suite, a room with a private courtyard, each spaced a comfortable distance apart for privacy.
The resort looked incredibly high-end, but since the weather was still warm, there weren’t many guests. That suited Chu Ling just fine, she preferred the quiet atmosphere.
However, soaking in the afternoon heat was a bit much, so Chu Ling decided to wait until evening. For now, she could try other services. Since her soreness was due to lactic acid buildup, a massage to relax her muscles sounded perfect.
Song Qingyi fell silent for a moment, neither approving nor disapproving of Chu Ling’s decision. Then, just as expected, she heard Chu Ling’s heart-wrenching scream.
Seeing her teary-eyed from the pressure, Song Qingyi sighed inwardly and waved to the masseuse. “I’ll take over.”
Chu Ling suddenly looked up. Hearing Song Qingyi’s words, she nearly sprang up like a carp leaping out of water, but Song Qingyi was faster. The next second, an intense pain shot through her calf, and she couldn’t hold back a yelp.
“Ahhh! Song Qingyi, are you trying to kill me?!”
“Ahhh, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts… Be gentler, wuwu…”
“No more, no more, switch spots, I can’t take it anymore.”
Song Qingyi’s originally calm expression turned strange, and she finally couldn’t take it anymore. “Stop screaming. Fine, just bite on this towel.”
And so, Chu Ling ended up whimpering through the towel until the massage was over. By then, she was clearly half-dead from the ordeal.
Other people’s massages were full of ambiguous tension, physical contact, and rising temperatures so how come hers had absolutely zero atmosphere?
And Song Qingyi was truly something else when she said she’d give a massage, she really put her strength into it.
