After the Scumbag Alpha Heard her Inner Thoughts - Chapter 41
“Tomorrow, I have a meeting to discuss a partnership. Can you stay by yourself?”
“Am I a child?”
“Hard to say.”
“Chu Muqing, are you itching for a beating?”
Su Wanqing feigned anger, puffing up like a little pufferfish. Although she put on an impressive show, there was no real threat behind it.
Chu Muqing chuckled lightly. “No one has ever dared to hit me.”
“Well, now you have someone!”
“Alright,” Chu Muqing played along. “If my wife wants to hit me, she can. I won’t utter a word of complaint.”
Su Wanqing’s face flushed red.
The wind picked up, whistling softly past their ears and brushing against them indiscriminately. Their hair became tangled together. Chu Muqing narrowed his eyes slightly. “Let’s head back.”
She was already physically fragile; catching a cold from the wind would only make things worse.
Meanwhile, the company’s situation was deteriorating. Gu Heng had thrown his personal funds into it just to spark a small recovery. He pinned all his hopes on this upcoming investor meeting.
At first, he was skeptical. When he approached Lu Qinghe to propose a partnership, Lu Qinghe hesitated and said she needed to think about it.
The Lu family was on the rise, gaining momentum quickly, but it hadn’t yet reached the point where they could dominate Beicheng with a wave of a hand.
Gu Heng used this weakness to pressure Lu Qinghe into cooperating. Under the strain, Lu Qinghe finally admitted her reluctance was because she intended to collaborate with a foreign investor instead, fearing there wouldn’t be enough capital otherwise.
Lu Qinghe then proposed that the Gu and Lu families work together with the foreign investor, splitting the profits sixty-forty.
Naturally, Gu Heng was unwilling. The two of them quarreled for half a month before Lu Qinghe finally compromised, agreeing to discuss it with the investor and suggesting that Gu Heng try to win them over himself.
Worried that this might just be a delaying tactic, Gu Heng conducted a private investigation for a long time. He eventually confirmed the existence of a woman from Country M (the U.S.).
Relieved, he urged Lu Qinghe to expedite the signing of the contract.
This time, he couldn’t afford any slip-ups. To fill the financial hole, he had already committed all his personal savings.
The signing location was handpicked by Gu Heng: Bolin, the only five-star hotel in Beicheng owned by him.
To ensure everything went smoothly, Gu Heng prepared all necessary documents, stayed overnight at the hotel, and canceled all other guests on the same floor.
At nine o’clock in the morning, Gu Heng chose a private room and sent the room number to Lu Qinghe and her assistant.
Meanwhile, Lu Qinghe sat in the car, looking at the message notification on her phone. She turned her head toward Chu Muqing. “The location has been sent.”
“Xu Chengke, drive.”
The car stopped not far from the hotel. Lu Qinghe said, “You guys wait here. I’ll go up and check the situation, then send you a message.”
The assistant opened the car door and helped Lu Qinghe out. The two of them headed toward the hotel’s restaurant section.
Seeing them, the server immediately led them upstairs; everyone knew the big boss was entertaining an important guest today.
The private room door was wide open. Lu Qinghe glanced inside. The space was large, with a long rectangular table. Gu Heng was seated at the head.
Upon seeing her, Gu Heng stood up and greeted her, “Miss Lu, I hope today’s partnership goes smoothly.”
“As long as there’s no problem on your end, I believe everything will go well,” Lu Qinghe replied.
After the brief pleasantries, Gu Heng went straight to the point, tossing over a contract. “This is the revised contract according to your terms, Miss Lu. I guarantee there are no issues.”
Lu Qinghe casually flipped through it. She hadn’t planned to sign it today anyway. “You’re really willing to give me sixty percent?”
“You were the one who brought in the investment. I can’t exactly claim the credit,” Gu Heng said, heart aching over the lost profit, but saving the company was his top priority.
“Since you’re being so straightforward, I won’t hide it either,” Lu Qinghe said. “The investor is here today as well. I’ll let her talk to you directly. If everything goes smoothly, we’ll sign the contract today.”
Lu Qinghe glanced at her assistant and gave a slight nod. The assistant immediately sent a message to Xu Chengke, and the two of them entered the lobby.
Xu Chengke, fully committed to the act, greeted people in fluent English.
Chu Muqing, wearing a hat and mask, wasn’t recognized by the front desk. They simply followed the instructions and hurriedly led them upstairs.
At the door of the private room, Gu Heng and Lu Qinghe stood on opposite sides. When the elevator doors opened, the two newcomers walked straight out and into the room.
Gu Heng’s eyes lit up at first. Their attire certainly resembled that of foreigners. However, the closer they got, the more uneasy he felt—after all, he had fought against Chu Muqing for years.
How could he not recognize her?
Even if she turned to ashes, he would still recognize her.
Gu Heng was stunned. He glanced at Lu Qinghe. Could it really be that much of a coincidence?
Impossible!
According to insider news, Chu Muqing had gone abroad for gland surgery. How could she possibly be the investor? It had to be Lu Qinghe staging this to save face.
Besides, Chu Muqing wasn’t a threat anymore. She had once been his defeated opponent, and now she had nothing—nothing to fear.
He stubbornly refused to entertain that tiny, near-impossible thought.
Under both of their gazes, Chu Muqing pulled off her hat and mask, casually pulled out a chair, and sat down with great ease. Gu Heng still hadn’t fully processed the situation.
Chu Muqing spread her hands and said, “What’s wrong, Gu Heng? A few days without seeing each other and you don’t recognize me?”
“Don’t be so formal. Have a seat,” Gu Heng replied stiffly, standing in place without moving.
Lu Qinghe took the seat beside her.
Chu Muqing smirked. “Weren’t you eager to discuss the partnership?”
Gu Heng glanced at Lu Qinghe. Seeing that she wasn’t surprised at all, he finally realized — he had been played by the two of them!
“You’re the so-called foreign investor?”
“Why? Don’t I look the part?” Chu Muqing countered with a hint of mockery.
Gu Heng simply couldn’t accept it. He had gone to such great lengths but still failed to save Gu Group. In the throes of envy, jealousy, and resentment, he had used underhanded methods to take over Chu Group.
At the time, he had felt a momentary triumph—thinking that the so-called business prodigy praised by all was just another loser who had fallen at his feet.
How could this be?
How could a few months change everything—turning her into a powerful foreign investor?
He refused to believe it.
Chu Muqing had left practically penniless. The two major projects she had were divided between the Lu and Su families.
Maybe this was just a trick—Lu Qinghe bringing Chu Muqing in to deceive him. Gu Heng, usually cautious and capable of planning eight steps ahead for every move, found his mind in chaos at this moment!
Chu Muqing, on the other hand, couldn’t care less whether he believed it or not. She reached across the table and grabbed the contract Gu Heng had prepared.
“Gu Heng,” she said lightly, “didn’t Lu Qinghe tell you? I’m only giving you ten percent.”
Gu Heng slammed his hand on the table, eyes wide. “What did you say? Ten percent?!”
“You might as well just take the company back outright.”
“That was my original plan,” Chu Muqing said as she closed the contract. “If you’re willing, shall I just make my move directly?”
“You don’t understand the state of the company like I do!” Gu Heng snapped.
If he didn’t sign the contract today, the company would have to declare bankruptcy. But if he did sign, it would be no different from handing it straight back to Chu Muqing.
Gu Heng was furious. After being so cautious for so many days, he was still outmaneuvered by Chu Muqing.
“Sign!” Gu Heng gritted his teeth. “Sign!”
Ten percent it was. If he didn’t compromise now, Chu Muqing was capable of doing anything. First, he needed to keep the company alive—personal grudges could wait.
Thus, Gu Heng was forced to sign an unequal contract.
When he signed his name, he nearly tore through the paper.
Once the contract was signed, Gu Heng stormed out of the private room without a word. Before returning to his room, he called his assistant and asked them to buy a box of blood pressure medication.
Although Chu Muqing had secured actual control of the company, she didn’t immediately strip Gu Heng of his position. Instead, she allowed him to continue serving as president.
Gu Heng, still heartbroken over the money he had invested, worked diligently under his own name after receiving the funds.
Meanwhile, Chu Muqing behaved like an idle monarch, spending her days lounging around the hospital, mostly worrying about what meals to order — all to nourish Su Wanqing’s recovery.
Under the daily bombardment of various supplements and tonics, Su Wanqing was able to leave the hospital after just one week.
On the day of her discharge, Chu Muqing brought a bouquet of flowers. Uncertain which type would be appropriate, she ended up letting the florist talk her into a choice.
Su Wanqing didn’t fuss over anything; it was Xu Chengke who ran up and down handling errands, while Chu Muqing carried the suitcase.
Since Lu Qinghe was pregnant and not convenient to move around, Su Wanqing didn’t let her come. Ji Yu, however, insisted on picking her up herself, saying it was no trouble and driving over personally.
When Ji Yu got out of the car and saw the scene in front of her, she clicked her tongue twice. “Boss, with a setup like this, anyone who didn’t know better would think you’re coming out of postpartum confinement.”
Su Wanqing raised her hand and flicked Ji Yu on the forehead!
“Stop talking nonsense!”
Xu Chengke took a separate car, while Chu Muqing and Su Wanqing rode together with Ji Yu.
Ji Yu’s car was a Haval Big Dog — a very inexpensive SUV, but spacious inside. The two of them had plenty of room in the backseat.
After getting into the car, Ji Yu sneakily adjusted the rearview mirror so that she could secretly observe Chu Muqing.
Because of Chu Muqing’s “reputation,” Ji Yu, seeing her for the first time, didn’t dare stare openly. She only stole a few glances.
And even then — Chu Muqing was stunning!
Far more gorgeous than any video or photo could ever show — a hundred thousand times more, even!
How could a female Alpha be this handsome, this alluring, and this beautiful all at once? No wonder their boss, such a beautiful and outstanding Omega, would fall so hard!
Seeing how close they were, Ji Yu figured it wouldn’t be too outrageous to steal a few glances, like admiring a model.
Her mouth practically watered just thinking about it.
But the more Ji Yu stared, the more mesmerized she became—and inevitably, she got caught.
Chu Muqing, who had been focused on Su Wanqing the whole time, suddenly noticed Ji Yu’s sneaky looks.
“Eyes on the road!” Chu Muqing warned, her voice cool. “If you want a better look, get out and stare to your heart’s content.”
Ji Yu: “!!!!”
She was wrong! She solemnly corrected her behavior and drove seriously the rest of the way.
Steady and careful, Ji Yu finally pulled into the residential complex of Banguishan Manor. After parking the car, she practically raced to open the car door for them.
She had already figured out who the real boss of the household was—opening the door for Su Wanqing first, then Chu Muqing.
This time, Ji Yu didn’t dare sneak glances again—at least not openly. Instead, she used the close distance to give Chu Muqing a fierce up-and-down look.
Wuwuwu!
Still so good-looking!
Su Wanqing gave her a little poke. “Alright, stop staring. Come up and sit for a while.”
When Chu Muqing had been abroad, Ji Yu often visited her house to discuss design drafts, sometimes pulling all-nighters. She even knew the code to the house.
But this time, Ji Yu quickly refused!
“The company has a lot going on. I’ll head back first!” she said, waving her phone. “Boss, text me when you’re ready to return to work.”
And just like that, she hopped back into her car and sped away!
Chu Muqing carried the suitcase in one hand and held Su Wanqing’s hand with the other.
In the elevator, Su Wanqing said, “Chu Muqing, I feel like you’ve changed.”
“Oh?” Chu Muqing raised an eyebrow, amused. “How so?”
“You’ve become gentler.”
You weren’t scary at all anymore! Even your face didn’t look as cold as before.
“That’s your imagination.”
No, it wasn’t! Su Wanqing thought indignantly.
When they opened the door to the house, Su Wanqing immediately understood why Chu Muqing had said it was just her imagination.
Chu Muqing casually dropped the suitcase to the side. It rolled forward with a rumbling sound from the wheels.
But Su Wanqing didn’t even have time to care. Chu Muqing pressed her against the wall and captured her lips in a fierce kiss.
The moment their lips met, Chu Muqing realized her desire wasn’t even close to being satisfied.
She bit and ground her lips against Su Wanqing’s, almost desperately.
Her tongue pried open Su Wanqing’s pearly teeth, sweeping inside. Su Wanqing was rendered completely immobile, her lips growing numb from the intensity, soft whimpers escaping between them.
Which only made Chu Muqing kiss her even more fiercely.
It was unclear how long the kiss lasted before Chu Muqing finally released her. She gazed at Su Wanqing’s glistening lips, reaching out to gently stroke her cheek, thumb wiping away the moisture at the corner of her mouth.
Su Wanqing couldn’t even speak, her mouth slightly open as she panted for air — in Chu Muqing’s eyes, an irresistible form of seduction.
Without hesitation, Chu Muqing’s hand, still wet from wiping her lips, slipped downward.
