Chapter 1: Moving Dorms – This Jock Dorm is Simply Too Good!
By Shun Song Chun He 2025.06.29
Shen Qingyu was dragging his luggage toward his new dorm.
In early April, his counselor finally approved the dorm transfer application he had submitted last semester.
Shen Qingyu simultaneously complained internally about the excessive procedures required to change dorms, while also smiling sweetly, not forgetting to close the door quietly as he left the counselor’s office.
He thought his new life was about to begin, but an accident occurred at the last moment.
—Shen Qingyu, who was originally supposed to move into the Arts Academy male dorm (719), was somehow arranged to move into the Sports Academy male dorm (917).
The moment he received the notice, Shen Qingyu stormed into the counselor’s office, completely ignoring the fact that the counselor had just finished eating and was picking his teeth in front of a mirror.
“Counselor, wasn’t I supposed to go to 719? Why did it turn into 917?” Shen Qingyu pulled up the “Zhihui Wendai” (Smart Wendai) enterprise WeChat app and found the notification in his private messages—the one that had nearly made him faint right there in the teaching building.
The counselor didn’t even look at him. “What difference does it make where you are?”
“But I applied for 719,” Shen Qingyu took off the white mask covering his face, revealing a fair and delicate look. His expression was serious as he insisted, “The air in the office is a bit stuffy.”
“Oh, there was also a Sports Academy student applying for a transfer at the time. There must have been a mix-up.”
“Then I’ll switch back with him.”
The counselor took a sip of water. “Do you know how many procedures a dorm change involves? For your transfer, we had to apply to the college, coordinate with the dormitory administrator… Changing back and forth wastes so much time. Besides, so many people want to move to the 9th floor, and you’re still being picky.”
And so, Shen Qingyu returned defeated.
If the 9th floor wasn’t the Sports Academy dorm, Shen Qingyu would have been delighted.
After all, it featured four-person rooms with beds over desks, an individual bathroom, and even a large balcony—it was practically the Tomson Riviera (a luxury reference) of Wendai’s dormitories.
Shen Qingyu dejectedly returned to his old room and moved out his remaining small portion of luggage.
His current dorm building was Male Dorm C. The first seven floors were six-person rooms, and only the top three floors were four-person rooms. It was said that these floors were originally reserved for graduate students, but after the school expanded and built two grander dorm buildings, the Sports Academy students managed to snag these floors.
Shen Qingyu worriedly took the elevator up to the 9th floor. After stepping out, he slipped into the stairwell and secretly peered out into the long, endless corridor.
The entire 9th floor housed the Sports Academy dorms. Hulking, muscular men, each over 180cm tall with eight-pack abs, walked around bare-chested. Shen Qingyu couldn’t help but swallow.
Shen Qingyu marched straight toward 917, finding the door slightly ajar. He knocked twice, got no response, and gently pushed the door open. The self-introduction he had prepared got stuck in his throat, and he stumbled back in shock by the scene inside.
—A male student was standing there completely naked from the waist up, his skin a healthy wheat color. His back was wide and thick, and his arm muscles were bulging, looking full of explosive power. His lat muscles contracted and tightened as he bent over to pull on his pants, his firm, strong glutes connecting to the smooth, full lines of his thighs. Every movement exuded wild abandon.
One second, two seconds.
On the third second that Shen Qingyu stared at his back, Lu Xiao noticed.
Even more impactful than his physique, when Shen Qingyu saw Lu Xiao’s full face, he felt his blood surge.
The face had sharp, star-like eyes beneath defined eyebrows, was highly recognizable, and featured a straight nose bridge and angular, distinct facial contours—sharp like a knife. Combined with his spiky haircut, he looked completely unapproachable.
This… what gay man could refuse a handsome, fit jock? This was simply the dream top (1) in the hearts of all bottoms (0)! If it were Shen Qingyu’s flirtatious, disappointing little bottom friend, Yang Yu, he would probably pounce on the spot, begging for a night.
Even Shen Qingyu was no exception. As a gay man, he had once fantasized about getting intimate with a 180cm, ab-having, preferably 18cm jock, but it was just a fantasy, nothing more.
Shen Qingyu let out a silent wail internally, but outwardly remained calm, his starry, moist eyes blinking subtly.
Lu Xiao frowned, pondering for two seconds why a stranger, who seemed vaguely familiar, was in his room.
Then he remembered something, and his expression immediately became strange, as if he had been stared at by something dirty. He quickly pulled up his pants, grabbed a sleeveless tank top to put on, and then, while biting the hem of the tank top with his mouth to secure it, buckled his belt, revealing his neat, blocky abs.
“What are you looking at? Look again and I’ll gouge your eyes out.” Lu Xiao’s tone was fierce as he glared at Shen Qingyu.
Sure enough, it only takes an instant for a person to lose their charm.
Shen Qingyu rolled his eyes internally. He ignored Lu Xiao’s unfriendly gaze and walked straight to the empty Bunk 4.
The room was much cleaner than Shen Qingyu had imagined. Given his stereotype of jocks, he’d expected the room to be littered with unfinished takeout, dirty socks, and sweat-soaked sportswear.
Shen Qingyu instantly felt much more comfortable. The room had great natural light, facing south with a large balcony—perfect for airing blankets occasionally. While musing about his new dorm life, he folded his clothes and placed them in the closet.
Lu Xiao, who had been left ignored, was surprised that someone dared to disregard him. “Hey, pretty boy.”
Shen Qingyu paused, pretending he didn’t hear him.
He didn’t want any conflict with the jock. After all, this person was a head taller than him, not to mention all that muscle; he looked like he could knock him down with one punch.
But while he wouldn’t cause trouble, he wasn’t afraid of it either! If anyone in this dorm dared to lay a hand on him, he would absolutely not be polite! Shen Qingyu secretly cheered himself on.
Lu Xiao leaned close in a slovenly manner. This pretty boy was too short; he actually had to bend down to look at him.
Shen Qingyu turned around defensively, “What do you want?”
Like a startled rabbit, his eyes were wide and round. Lu Xiao found him amusing. He braced one hand against the wardrobe behind Shen Qingyu and said arrogantly, “Didn’t you hear me talking to you? Are you mute or deaf?”
His peripheral vision caught Shen Qingyu’s wardrobe full of brightly colored clothes, perfectly fitting his stereotype of a gay man.
But… Lu Xiao narrowed his eyes, examining him. The mask covered half his face, but the visible upper half was clean and fair, unlike some of the gay guys in the Arts Academy who wore makeup and crop tops, making themselves look neither male nor female—it was hard to look at.
This new roommate had fawn-like eyes, slightly round at the outer corners, with clear, moist pupils. His long, slightly curled eyelashes fluttered like two small brushes. His nicely styled hair was parted slightly down the middle, revealing a smooth, full forehead. In the sunlight, his hair was a pale brown, and his longer sideburns slightly covered the tips of his ears and neck.
It was just a pity that the white mask obscured the lower half of his face, making one intensely curious about what the rest of the features looked like on a person with such beautiful eyes.
His path was blocked by the tall, muscular man in front of him, who was like a door, making it hard for Shen Qingyu to breathe.
“Move,” Shen Qingyu said, displeased.
Lu Xiao also wore a silver stud earring that flashed with a flashy light, making Shen Qingyu squint.
Lu Xiao “Hah’d” in response, “What kind of attitude is that?”
“I’ll match whatever attitude you have,” Shen Qingyu muttered, pushing his chest twice, but failing to move him.
Lu Xiao had never been so disliked before. Watching Shen Qingyu’s lowered eyelashes sweep across his chest, he felt a sudden wave of irritation.
“I hate gays the most,” he thought.
So, driven by a playful desire to tease, Lu Xiao reached out and pulled down Shen Qingyu’s mask with a light-hearted, almost flirtatious motion.
A beautiful, delicate face appeared. Seeing Shen Qingyu’s face, Lu Xiao froze, his breath quickening. He couldn’t speak for a long time.
—This was a beauty hard to describe in words, the features were absolutely perfect, clearly having received the Creator’s utmost favoritism. The skin was white to the point of reflecting light, the nose small and rounded, and the lips pink and tender. A faint red mark from the mask was still visible on his cheek, adding a touch of fragile vulnerability.
Shen Qingyu frantically pushed him away. “Are you crazy?” His eyes welled up, looking teary as they darted around, clearly plotting something.
Lu Xiao touched his own chest, feeling a loss of face. “I’m crazy?” He was exasperated. “You were peeking at me changing by the door, and you have the nerve to call me crazy?”
“I wasn’t peeking, it’s your fault for not locking the door.”
Lu Xiao remembered seeing him arguing about his sexual orientation with others a few days ago, and then recalled the eyes that were “peeking” at him changing by the door. His attitude grew aggressive. “I’m telling you, whether you like men or women, if you dare to set your sights on me—”
He fiercely jabbed his finger near Shen Qingyu’s face, speaking menacingly word by word: “I will kill you.”
Then he slammed the door shut with a bang. The room echoed with the deafening sound, and even Shen Qingyu’s heart skipped a beat.
He bent down to pick up the mask on the floor and placed it on the desk, muttering a complaint: Constantly saying “I will kill you,” and randomly yanking people’s masks off—how uncultured! Just like a primary school student. If he’s so tough, he should bring a minivan full of people to blockade me!
It was early spring and willow catkins were flying. Shen Qingyu’s skin was sensitive and always suffered a lot during this season, so he was used to wearing a mask. Additionally, he had known since childhood that he was strikingly good-looking, and walking on the street inevitably meant being stared at. The mask gave him a sense of security.
Although he had long gotten used to the attention, and didn’t hate or resist it, sometimes he just wanted to be low-key. Wearing a mask helped him reduce unnecessary attention.
Lu Xiao’s parting threat still lingered in his ears. Shen Qingyu sat on the chair, feeling troubled.
He wasn’t curious about how his secret had gotten out; he just felt that the days ahead would probably not be easy.
Shen Qingyu was naturally gay, a fact he realized in high school. Under the guidance of an older student at the time, Shen Qingyu accepted the situation well. But he had kept his sexual orientation well-hidden, with only a few people close to him knowing.
When the matter was exposed in his college, Shen Qingyu briefly fell into panic and helplessness. But he quickly adjusted and proactively applied to change dorms.
This was because his roommates, who had originally been on good terms with him, became cold and distant after learning his sexual orientation. He even overheard them discussing how to avoid contact with him, lest they be “infected,” acting as if they were afraid of being harassed by Shen Qingyu.
Shen Qingyu was only sad for a moment. He knew not everyone could accept living with a gay man. But he really wanted to say—I am gay, but I’m not so desperate that I’d pounce on just anyone!
Shen Qingyu had a good friend who was also at Wendai, a student in the Arts Academy, which was known to be a gathering spot for gay men. His friend heard there was an empty bed in his dorm and suggested Shen Qingyu move there. Shen Qingyu felt it would be more suitable. He didn’t mind the mixed dorm situation, since he spent most of his time in the teaching building and the library, and weekends were usually spent at home.
This accident, however, completely disrupted Shen Qingyu’s plan.
Based on the attitude of the guy he just met… Shen Qingyu felt a headache coming on.
He rubbed his hair. Since I’m here, I might as well make the best of it. He decided to finish tidying his things first.
He quickly climbed onto the bed, put on the sky-blue sheets and duvet cover, and placed the small bear plushie that had accompanied him for countless nights by the bedside. Looking around, he found that all four beds in the room were clean. Shen Qingyu faintly felt that something was not quite right.
—Do the people in this dorm not use bed curtains? How do they change clothes? Do they go to the bathroom?
Shen Qingyu recalled the sight from when he first pushed open the door, thinking that with the uncivilized guy’s personality, he probably wouldn’t bother going to the bathroom to change.
Does that mean I’ll be seeing… naked men every day?
Shen Qingyu shivered. He liked looking at well-built men, but seeing them daily might be too much to handle. The weather was already getting warmer, and it would be embarrassing if he got a nosebleed one day.
Shen Qingyu found his own bed curtains and, following his memory, installed the complicated contraption. The entire Bunk 4 was enveloped by the pale blue curtains, creating his own private space.
Shen Qingyu worked up a sweat moving things around. He took out a set of creamy yellow pajamas and headed to the bathroom to shower, making sure to lock the door.
After showering and blow-drying his hair, Shen Qingyu applied a layer of body lotion all over. The whole bathroom was filled with a sweet, fragrant scent, and he felt much more comfortable.
Humming a little love song, he walked out of the bathroom. A tall male student had entered the room, and he was looking up, admiring the beautifully decorated Bunk 4, which resembled a sleeping chamber.
The male student was very tall, visibly at least 185cm. He turned around and flashed a friendly, sunny smile: “Hello, I’m Cheng Che.”
Cheng Che froze after saying that. He clearly hadn’t expected his new roommate to be such a beautiful and delicate male student, who also smelled sweetly captivating, like a fairy stepping out of a dream.
The guy in front of him had a wool curl hairstyle that few could pull off, making him look sunny and handsome. The creases of his double eyelids were wide, and his puppy-dog eyes curved into crescent moons when he smiled, with two shallow dimples in his cheeks.
Shen Qingyu’s heart felt like it had a tireless little deer frantically running inside.
Having gone through such an emotional rollercoaster, Shen Qingyu’s cheeks flushed slightly. He shyly lowered his eyes and smiled back.
This… who said this jock dorm was bad? This jock dorm is simply too good!
