- After Teasing the Crazy Mermaid, He Actually Deceived Me into Marriage
- Chapter 1 - The Descent of a Deity
Somewhere on a mysterious island in the Atlantic Ocean.
Si Tang stared at the thick smoke rising into the sky, her heart filled with anxiety as she prayed fervently toward the sea.
Suddenly, the waves surged, the sky shifted ominously, and the sea split into two, as if a magnificent curtain had been drawn apart.
Her legs gave way, and Si Tang collapsed onto the shallow shore, her mind screaming only one thought: It’s over! There’s no escape!
When she looked up, Fan Yi was already standing at the divide of the waves, his expressionless gaze fixed on her.
The man had silver hair and blue eyes, his face exquisitely beautiful, a masterpiece of divine craftsmanship. His snow-white lashes lowered as he looked down at her with a condescending air, his tone laced with menace as he let out a faint, mocking laugh.
“Daring to run again? Do you truly believe I won’t devour you right now?”
He emphasized the word “again,” his voice raspier than usual, as though suppressing something.
Si Tang: “…”
However, as she lifted her head and the initial wave of terror subsided, she suddenly noticed that something seemed off about him at this moment.
In his breathtakingly stunning face, his eyes churned with a blazing, unusual intensity. The corners of his eyes were tinged with a crimson hue, wild and alluring, exuding an indescribable danger.
Meeting her suddenly inquisitive gaze, his brow grew even darker and more restrained as he coldly snapped at her.
“Get back!”
Though he had always been moody in the past, this was the first time he had lost control of his emotions so completely.
Si Tang was startled by his outburst. In her final glance, the terrifying, damp heat in his eyes rendered her speechless.
It was different from the way he had looked at her before like she was mere “prey.” This gaze was both unfamiliar and yet hauntingly familiar. It was…
Recalling what had happened two days earlier, she froze, a shiver running down her spine as she scrambled to her feet and made a desperate dash back toward the cave.
But it was too late.
“Crash!”
The sound of massive waves crashing.
Something cold and damp, sticky and slippery, coiled around Si Tang’s calf, it was his fishtail.
A shudder ran through her, and she instinctively let out a scream. The next moment, a hand clamped around her waist.
The sky, tinged with the colors of sunset, spun before her eyes. Disoriented, she came to her senses only to find herself suffocated by the scene unfolding before her.
The waves engulfed them both.
His fishtail was now fully revealed, its silver scales shimmering brilliantly under the twilight, mesmerizing and soul-stirring.
The man tilted his head back, narrowing his eyes at her. His gaze reflected a damp, overwhelming desire. His usually loose but tightly fastened black robe was now open, brimming with temptation, a beauty that could lure one into sin and ruin.
The sun had set by now. The clouds had vanished, and moonlight cascaded down.
His fingers crept up to her neck, feeling the frantic pulse throbbing beneath his palm. His lips pressed into a tight line as he spoke impatiently.
“So disobedient. If you hadn’t run out, how could you have provoked me?”
At this very moment, he should have been enduring his first mating season in the depths of the ocean.
The icy touch glided across Si Tang’s neck, neither too light nor too heavy, yet enough to hold her life in his hands.
In the past two months of life-and-death struggles with this man, this wasn’t the first time she had faced death, but it filled her with an unknown dread.
The palm pressed against her neck was steadily growing warmer.
“Let me go!” Tears welled in Si Tang’s eyes.
He tilted his head slightly but did not release her. Instead, his thumb gently stroked the side of her neck, as if offering a soothing caress.
The next second, the back of her head was abruptly seized by his palm. He lifted his chin, and his cool, soft lips descended upon hers without warning.
The kiss was domineering, suffocating, and brutal devoid of any finesse.
Si Tang’s eyes widened in disbelief.
His eyes were closed, the trembling tips of his lashes the same snowy white as his hair, making him appear even more fragile and innocent.
But his kiss was anything but innocent. To call it a kiss might be an understatement, it was more like a beast’s savage bite, as if he intended to devour her whole.
“Stop, you need to snap out of it!” Si Tang shook her head, trying to pull away, a muffled sob escaping her lips as she attempted to bring him back to his senses.
He refused to relent, gripping her chin and continuing to kiss her. It felt like an eternity before he finally pulled away from her lips, just as she had wished.
The restraint on her body loosened, but the mermaid tail beneath her grew increasingly hot, thrashing about uncontrollably. Panic surged through Si Tang, and she twisted her body in an attempt to escape, only to have her waist seized with an even more unyielding and domineering force than before.
A low, husky chuckle sounded by her ear.
He gently nibbled on her ear, sending an uncontrollable shiver through her. Si Tang could even feel the sharp edges of his teeth grazing her earlobe, bringing a faint, stinging pain.
“Didn’t you say we should be friends?” His voice was like a lover’s whisper, tinged with a raspy quality that was utterly intoxicating. “Since we’re friends, shouldn’t you help me, don’t you think?”
Si Tang trembled all over, a mix of fear and confusion at the unknown situation unfolding before her.
This is madness, absolute madness!
The damp seawater lifted the hem of her skirt. Before Si Tang could even open her mouth to salvage the situation, she suddenly felt a scorching hand press against her waist.
Her entire body stiffened, her pupils shaking in shock.
She had never been this intimate with him before not even two days ago.
After all, the relationship between them was that of predator and prey. She was merely the “prey” he had “kept.”
Two months ago, she could never have imagined that things would spiral into such an absurd scene!
Two months ago.
Somewhere along the Atlantic sailing route, near the waters of Vanuatu’s mysterious islands, the Costa cruise ship.
Evening. A shipwreck, the vessel sinking.
Midnight. From the surface of the sea, there was only an endless expanse of darkness and the roaring waves.
When Si Tang regained consciousness, she coughed violently, as if trying to expel the seawater from her lungs. She knelt up and realized she was in a shallow part of the shore.
It must have been a wave before she lost consciousness that had washed her onto the island’s beach.
Si Tang had only a lifebuoy and a life jacket with her. Her phone had long been swept away by the waves. She carefully searched along the island’s coastline for a while but was disappointed to find no trace of anyone else.
The entire island was deserted, covered only by dense jungles, filled with unknown dangers.
The Atlantic Ocean covers 20% of the Earth’s surface. Having lost all means of communication and calling for help, Si Tang had no idea where she was, but she was certain she had drifted far from the usual shipping routes.
Exhausted and disheartened, Si Tang leaned against a tree trunk to rest. Nearby, a charred log lay burnt out. As she pondered her next move, a sudden purple bolt of lightning split the night sky, creating a particularly terrifying scene.
All the dark clouds in the sky converged above this stretch of sea.
A vague, indistinct shadow flickered within the clouds, and all the lightning strikes seemed to target it. If she had to describe it, Si Tang thought the scene resembled, a judgment from ancient Greek mythology.
Si Tang rubbed her eyes, wondering if it was just a hallucination.
She didn’t know how long it lasted, but eventually, the lightning subsided. Then, the shadow plummeted from the sky like a shooting star!
Drawing closer, Si Tang finally made out the vague shape of the “thing.”
The upper body was that of a human male, with silver-white hair as smooth as silk, obscuring his features. The lower body, however, was a shimmering silver fish tail, glistening under the faint moonlight.
His tail was covered in scars, as if struck by lightning, and in his hand, he clutched a gleaming trident.
A name inexplicably flashed through Si Tang’s mind, Poseidon, the God of the Sea.
Instinctively, she hid behind a reef, holding her breath as she gazed out over the sea.
He stood above the water, lightly tapping his trident. In an instant, it elongated, piercing through layers of waves and striking several whales swimming nearby.
With a flash of cold light, the whales were cleanly sliced and skewered together.
He curved his eyes, his brow suddenly tinged with a contradictory, innocent cruelty.
Once the trident was fully laden, he seemed to have had his fill of amusement, manipulating it to hover before him.
The surrounding sea fell into a deathly silence.
Si Tang was terrified by the sudden scene, but the next moment nearly made her scream aloud!
As he looked at the blood and flesh on the trident, his eyes held only a strange fascination.
Suddenly, his face and upper body began to twist and distort, turning horrifying, as if he were a sea monster born from the depths. He opened a gaping, blood-red maw and swallowed the flesh on the trident in one gulp.
In the blink of an eye, a merman as beautiful as a deity transformed into a ten-meter-tall monster.
Si Tang nearly fainted!
After devouring the flesh, the scars on his tail faded, and he then shifted into human form. With a casual wave of his hand, the blood-stained sea gradually returned to its original azure clarity.
Just as she thought it was over, he extended a finger, and a line of water rose into the air, skewering sea fish into rings as if for roasting.
He curled his lips into a slight smile, seemingly very pleased with his creation.
Si Tang: …
How could she describe the scene at this moment?
He was like a child at play, with a faint, ambiguous smile, his eyes betraying a cruelty born of innocence.
Just as Si Tang thought he would transform into that terrifying monster to devour the fish, he lost interest. With a flick of his finger, all the sea fish instantly turned to powder, scattering into the ocean.
Si Tang dared not watch any longer, feeling that this monster was not only vicious but also perverse.
She covered her mouth, crouched low, and cautiously tried to escape.
Suddenly, a soft, intrigued sound came from behind her, tinged with a strange excitement.
“Oh, a human?”
She froze instantly, a chill piercing her spine.
Turning around, she was met with a face so breathtakingly beautiful it could make one forget to breathe.
