- Chapter 6 - The Paranoid Villain (6) Kissing the Corner of the Lips
At the thought of this possibility, Yan Yi curled his lips in pleasure. He loved the way Lu Yinshen looked when his heart was full of him. He loved seeing this man lose his composure or act out of character because of him. He especially preferred the man’s fragmented and crumbling appearance when moved by passion; it was a sight so provocative that it made him want to pin him down.
Yan Yi watched the slowly approaching black Cayenne without blinking. The fact that he would see him so soon made Yan Yi extremely happy. In the next instant, the expression on Yan Yi’s face became bright and sunny. His eyes were like spring, as if a layer of ice had melted between his brows, making him look warm and full of vitality. He appeared completely like a pure and innocent college student.
In this state, he seemed much easier to approach. This emboldened certain people with ulterior motives, leading them to believe he was truly a kind and naive soul. Yao Si held a card in his hand and approached him with a shy, lowered head. His cheeks were flushed, and his voice was affectedly soft as he asked, “Excuse me, classmate, is this something you dropped?”
This was merely an excuse to strike up a conversation. Typically, most people would say no, allowing him to use the opportunity to chat for a few more minutes and exchange contact information. Yao Si had used this method many times to deal with people who were difficult to approach, and it had never failed him. He assumed this time would be no different. A triumphant smile spilled from the corners of his lips.
“How annoying,” Yan Yi thought. His cheerful mood from his uncle’s arrival was instantly dampened by Yao Si’s interruption. Yan Yi turned around, positioned so that Lu Yinshen could not see his expression, and stared coldly at Yao Si. His face froze and his eyes contained an unmistakable warning as he spat out a single word: “Leave.”
Yao Si’s smug expression stiffened. His face turned pale and his smile froze. He was used to being pampered by countless men and had never been treated this way before. However, since Yan Yi’s qualities seemed better than all his other prospects combined, he was unwilling to give up. He believed he possessed incredible charm. As long as he put in a little effort, he did not believe there was a man he could not win over. He thought to himself that Yan Yi would regret treating him like this later.
Yao Si’s expression shifted until he put on a pitiful, tearful look. “I just picked up a water card on the ground and thought it was yours. I was just asking; I did not mean anything else.” Before he could finish, Yan Yi turned away and ignored him completely, treating him as if he were thin air.
As long as the protagonist did not covet his uncle or annoy him, Yan Yi would not interfere for the sake of the world’s stability. However, if the protagonist truly crossed his line, the script for this small world would have to change.
The rear door of the Cayenne opened for Yan Yi. He sat down quickly and closed the door tightly. As expected, his uncle was sitting inside. However, as soon as Yan Yi saw him, his brows furrowed. He reached out to touch Lu Yinshen’s legs, which were trembling involuntarily. He was shocked by the touch; it felt as though the legs had lost all their flesh, leaving only bones covered by trousers.
Yan Yi felt an intense pang of heartache and asked in a worried tone, “What happened?” Lu Yinshen was unwilling to say much and simply looked at him.
While Lu Yinshen remained silent, the driver spoke up. “The Master refused to let me help him when he got into the car. He insisted on forcing himself. Young Master, you must speak to him; he should not be so stubborn.” Unlike the previous driver, this driver was named Zhang. He had worked for the Lu family for over twenty years. He had witnessed Lu Yinshen’s youth and was not a stranger to him. Thus, he dared to ask Yan Yi to intervene. He knew the Master would not listen to the staff, but he noticed the Master’s unusual attitude toward this young man.
Although Yan Yi also disapproved of Lu Yinshen’s behavior, he could not bring himself to say anything harsh to him. In the end, he could only compromise by massaging Lu Yinshen’s legs through the fabric of his trousers. He knew that as long as he assisted Lu Yinshen with proper rehabilitation, the man would eventually be free from this pain.
Yan Yi’s palms were warm. Even through the trousers, the heat was intense. Although the muscles in these legs were notoriously insensitive, a tingling current spread upward under his touch, flushing the corners of Lu Yinshen’s eyes. Lu Yinshen’s face was pale except for that sickly redness around his eyes. His dark, double pupils locked onto Yan Yi, trying to capture his thoughts.
Seeing this, Yan Yi understood that Lu Yinshen wanted to know about the incident where someone had almost taken advantage of him. While massaging the legs, Yan Yi took the initiative to explain. “Someone almost bumped into me just now, but I dodged quickly. They did not touch me at all. Is there anything else you want to know, Uncle?”
Seeing that Yan Yi was not lying, Lu Yinshen shifted his dark gaze and took out a box tied with a bow. The box was long and rectangular, likely containing the latest mobile phone. “Is this a phone?” Yan Yi asked curiously as he took it.
Lu Yinshen’s eyes were dark with an unreadable emotion as he replied in a raspy voice, “Yes. It is an enrollment gift.”
Yan Yi looked at him with surprise. “Thank you, Uncle. I will definitely cherish it.” Hearing this, the darkness in Lu Yinshen’s eyes deepened, and a beautiful smile appeared on his pale lips. “That is good.”
Yan Yi nodded and said, “I will switch to it now.” He took out the new phone and replaced the memory card from his old one. As soon as it turned on, Yan Yi’s lips curled. It seemed there were interesting little things hidden inside. He wondered if it was a GPS tracker, a listening device, or both. As his fingertips slid across the screen, Yan Yi maintained the happy expression of someone receiving a gift. He said, “Uncle, I will use this every day from now on.”
Lu Yinshen smiled, clearly satisfied with this behavior. Yan Yi put the phone away and continued massaging Lu Yinshen’s legs until they stopped trembling. He then took off his jacket and covered the man’s legs to keep them warm. As he sat back, he caught a glimpse through the glass of the protagonist being pulled around by another man outside. Not only that, but the protagonist kept casting glances toward the car.
Yan Yi remembered that in the original plot, the protagonist had tried to seduce the villainous Lu Yinshen, only to fail. Even though he had not succeeded, Yan Yi had already condemned him in his heart. Seeing him standing outside the gate for so long, Yan Yi wondered if he was looking for a chance to hook up with his uncle.
Yan Yi’s gaze turned cold for a moment before softening again when he looked at Lu Yinshen. He said in a soft voice, “Uncle Lu, the air is a bit stuffy. Can I open the window for a moment?” Upon hearing this, Lu Yinshen signaled the driver to roll down the window. The car windows were fitted with privacy film, allowing those inside to see out clearly while preventing those outside from seeing anything. Only when the window was rolled down could the interior be glimpsed.
Yan Yi leaned in and used his fingertips to mess up Lu Yinshen’s neat collar. “Uncle, your clothes are messy. Let me straighten them for you.” His tone was obedient, making it seem as though Lu Yinshen had accidentally ruffled the collar himself. Instead of being smoothed out, the fabric near Lu Yinshen’s collarbone became even more wrinkled under Yan Yi’s touch.
Yan Yi frowned as if distressed by his inability to smooth the creases. He looked up, intending to speak to Lu Yinshen, but due to the height difference, his lips accidentally brushed against the corner of Lu Yinshen’s mouth. Before he could speak, he stopped. Yan Yi’s face flushed red, and he lowered his head shyly. However, the moment his eyes moved away from Lu Yinshen’s, they turned ice cold.
“Yao Si, look closely. Lu Yinshen is mine.”
Yao Si did indeed see the scene. His face turned red and he nearly lost control, almost shoving away the person pulling at his arm. He said in a soft, gentle voice, “Brother Ye, it is not that I do not want to have dinner with you, but it is the first day of school and there is so much to do. I really do not have time.”
Yao Si gritted his teeth but quickly regained his confidence. Although he had not seen the face of the person inside clearly, the intimacy confirmed that the target’s sexual orientation was male. It was harder to seduce a heterosexual man, but since he liked men, Yao Si was confident he could make this man another prize in his collection. As for the man already having someone, Yao Si had successfully seduced men who were already taken before.
Because Yao Si had been staring at the car for too long, Lu Ye looked over as well. He was stunned and blurted out, “That psychopath Lu Yinshen is actually entangled with my second uncle’s adopted son!”
“Psychopath?” Yao Si asked, pretending to be curious.
Satisfied by the focused attention of his crush, Lu Ye said disdainfully, “The man in that car is my grandfather’s youngest son. His legs have been useless since he was a child. My grandfather and parents do not like him. He is a temperamental loser who shamelessly wants a share of the Lu family’s money. He is a total nutcase. If you ask me, he should be in a mental hospital so he stops raving about finding some ghost lover. If that is not a delusion, what is?”
Thinking about how he had failed to get money from the man that morning, Lu Ye could not stop the venomous words. He then softened his voice for Yao Si. “Xiao Si, ignore him. I have already booked a table at Pinwei Pavilion. You promised to eat with me today, so let us go.”
Yao Si neither agreed nor refused, but asked curiously, “What about the other one?”
Lu Ye’s expression became even more disdainful. “Him? He is just an adopted son of the Lu family.” Lu Ye considered himself the firstborn male of the third generation, whereas Yan Yi was merely someone his second uncle had taken in. However, Lu Ye’s eyes flickered. If an adopted son was having an affair with his own uncle and they were being so public in a car, who knew what happened behind closed doors? While such a relationship might seem rare to others, Lu Ye knew of other powerful families with similar scandals. He thought that if his grandfather and second uncle found out, there would be quite a show. If that cripple was kicked out of the family, he would no longer be a threat.
But Lu Ye had forgotten that most of Lu Yinshen’s success was self-made and had nothing to do with the Lu family. Imagining the two being kicked out of the house, Lu Ye felt a sense of satisfaction. He grabbed Yao Si’s arm. “Let us go.”
Yao Si looked back at the car pitifully, trying to signal to Yan Yi that he was being forced to leave against his will. Inside the cramped back seat, an ambiguous atmosphere brewed. Yan Yi’s fingertips hooked around Lu Yinshen’s collar as he leaned in close. His warm breath brushed against Lu Yinshen’s jaw and Adam’s apple. With his chin slightly raised and his back straightened, his lips slowly drew closer.
