Jiang Wanyi experienced a sudden awakening of her self-awareness following a car accident. She realized that she was merely a supporting character in a heart-wrenching web novel where her older sister served as the protagonist Omega. The primary antagonist, a “scumbag Alpha,” happened to be her sister’s close friend.
According to the original plot, her sister would enter into an arranged marriage with this Alpha in just one month to save the family business. Once married, her sister would endure relentless bullying from the Alpha’s family. As the story progressed, the scumbag Alpha would cheat, humiliate, torture, and physically abuse her sister, all while masking the cruelty under the guise of “love.” The most horrifying part of the narrative was the conclusion because the Alpha eventually secured a “happily ever after” with her sister simply by kneeling in the rain and shedding a few crocodile tears.
Jiang Wanyi refused to stand by and watch her sister leap into such a fiery pit of misery. Since she could not prevent the marriage alliance from happening, she decided that she would be the one to marry the Alpha instead.
After the wedding, the supposed scumbag Alpha treated her with nothing but kindness. Jiang Wanyi remained vigilant and refused to be fooled since she believed this was all a facade. She convinced herself that the Alpha was actually a violent criminal hiding behind a polite mask.
Even though certain plot points began to diverge from the book and the Alpha proved to be incredibly gentle and obedient, Jiang Wanyi vowed to remain cold-hearted. However, her resolve wavered when she made a startling discovery. She found the “original novel” hosted on a popular fanfiction website as a trending story, and to her shock, she realized she had actually commented on it in the past.
