After Mistaking My Sister’s Friend for a Scumbag Alpha - Chapter 3
“She… likes me?”
A flicker of surprise crossed Shangguan Shi’s golden pupils. She deliberated for a long time before finally typing back: [I am ten years older than you. Are you certain you want to try?]
[I’m certain.]
[Sister Shi, I really, really like you.]
Faced with the young girl’s passionate confession, Shangguan Shi’s gaze wavered slightly. However, she still offered a polite refusal: [Wanwan, you don’t actually know me. You might just be in love with an imaginary version of me.]
[Jiang Wanyi: That’s not true. The person I like is you, Sister Shi. I know exactly what kind of person you are.]
[Jiang Wanyi: Sister Shi, just try it with me. If you’re busy, I can come to you.]
[Scumbag Alpha: Don’t come.]
[Jiang Wanyi: You’re rejecting me.]
[Jiang Wanyi: Aggrieved Bunny Emoji]
[Scumbag Alpha: I’m not rejecting you. It’s just that you truly don’t understand me.]
[Jiang Wanyi: How can I understand you if you don’t even give me the chance to?]
The scumbag Alpha did not reply again.
Jiang Wanyi sent several more cute stickers to harass her, but when the other party remained silent, she felt a surge of irritation. Was this scumbag playing hard to get?
After a moment’s thought, Wanyi decided that was exactly the case. There was no reason for a scumbag to pass up a free opportunity, so she must be intentionally baiting her. Having reached this conclusion, Wanyi put her phone down and decided to take a nap.

When she woke up, Wanyi checked her phone and found a message from the Alpha sent just three minutes prior.
[Wanwan, there is an issue with my pheromones. I suffer from Pheromone Deficiency Disorder. I cannot soothe an Omega during their heat, nor can I get an Omega pregnant. This is why we are not a match.]
Reading those words and carefully examining the medical report the Alpha had attached, Jiang Wanyi’s fists tightened. So the reason her sister couldn’t conceive in the original book was that the scumbag Alpha was impotent!
The Alpha was incompetent, yet according to the original plot, she must have hidden this from her sister. That was why her sister had silently endured the bullying from the Alpha’s mother. As for why the “Green Tea” mistress managed to get pregnant on the first try, it was obvious that the child belonged to someone else.
With the logic sorted out, Wanyi replied with an icy expression: [It doesn’t matter. I don’t care about those things. It’s you I like. No matter what you’re like, I’ll love you regardless.]
Shangguan Shi had originally intended to find a Beta woman to spend the rest of her life with, but at this moment, seeing the girl’s sincere words, her heart warmed. Her resolve finally crumbled: [Then let’s give it a try.]
“Hah,” Jiang Wanyi could not help but sneer. The scumbag was indeed playing hard to get, and she had exposed her true nature soon enough.
[Jiang Wanyi: Great! Then Sister Shi is my girlfriend starting now.]
[Jiang Wanyi: Big Hug Emoji]
[Scumbag Alpha: Wanwan, by “trying,” I meant trying to get to know each other.]
[Jiang Wanyi: Then how long will that take?]
If it took too long, the Jiang Group might not hold out.
[Scumbag Alpha: Perhaps a month.]
[Jiang Wanyi: And after a month, if we are a match, we get married?]
[Scumbag Alpha: No.]
[Jiang Wanyi: So even if we are a match, we won’t get married? Sister Shi, do you just want to date without taking responsibility for me?]
[Jiang Wanyi: I see. You still look down on me. Aggrieved Bunny Emoji]
[Scumbag Alpha: You misunderstand. That isn’t what I meant.]
[Jiang Wanyi: Then let’s get married.]
The Alpha placed a voice call, but Wanyi declined it immediately. Simply typing to the woman was already pushing her patience to the limit; if they spoke over the phone, she would likely lose her composure and expose herself.
[Scumbag Alpha: Wanwan, are you angry?]
Obviously.
Wanyi typed back indifferently: [No, I wouldn’t be angry with Sister Shi.]
[Jiang Wanyi: I only blame myself for not being good enough. If I were a few years older and more successful, maybe Sister Shi would consider marrying me.]
The Alpha called again, and Wanyi declined once more. After a few minutes, a message arrived: [I’ll listen to you. If we are a match, we’ll get married.]
A satisfied smile spread across Wanyi’s lips. Hah, a mere scumbag Alpha could never escape her grasp.

They had agreed to spend more time together, but for the past five days, their interaction had been limited to chatting online. They hadn’t seen each other once in person. Today was the sixth day, Friday. The scumbag Alpha said she would come to pick her up.
To play the part perfectly, Jiang Wanyi applied exquisite makeup, wore a wig, and carefully coordinated her outfit. Her beauty already far exceeded that of an average person, and with the extra effort, she was truly eye-catching. In the five minutes she stood waiting, several people had already approached her to ask for her contact information.
When Shangguan Shi arrived, she saw the young girl with her black curly wig surrounded by several Alphas, looking small and defenseless. She walked over quickly and called out, “Wanwan.”
The surrounding Alphas dispersed automatically upon seeing her. Jiang Wanyi tucked a strand of hair back, rested her hand on her bag, and walked over to the woman’s side. Her voice was sweet as she said, “Sister Shi.”
Seeing the words on a screen was one thing, but hearing the girl’s voice was entirely different. Hearing the Omega murmur her name felt like a soft brush tickling her ear, sending a faint tingle straight to her heart. It was a sensation she had never experienced before, and it made her heartstrings quiver.
She took a step back to open the car door for the Omega. Once inside, Jiang Wanyi unconsciously gripped her bag while her mind raced. She was approaching this scumbag to save the company and her sister. She had to succeed; this marriage had to happen. She expected the Alpha might try to take advantage of her; if it was just holding hands, she would endure it. If the woman tried to go further, she would find a way to stall.
The door closed, and the Alpha sat down beside her. A faint scent of perfume filled the carriage. Wanyi kept her eyes lowered, not looking at the woman’s face, but her peripheral vision caught the Alpha’s hands resting on her lap. As a lead character in a book, the Alpha’s physical advantages were undeniable; her hands were long, slender, and fair, looking even better than those of a hand model.
What a pity she’s a scumbag through and through, Wanyi thought.
After a moment of silent cursing, she gathered her spirits to speak, but the other woman beat her to it.
“I bought some milk tea on the way. I wasn’t sure if you would like it,” Shangguan Shi said, handing her a warm, popular drink.
Wanyi was indeed thirsty. She took it and said, “I like it. I like anything you give me, Sister Shi.”
She took a sip and was instantly impressed by the flavor. She glanced at the label to memorize the brand. Every small movement and expression of the girl was caught by Shangguan Shi, who felt a sense of relief seeing that she enjoyed the drink.
The two of them had never been close. Though their families lived near each other when they were children, the age gap kept them apart. After moving away, they only met during holidays. Because of her friendship with Jiang Qianyi, Shangguan Shi had always viewed Wanyi as a younger sister. This was the first time she was looking at her as a potential partner.
Wanyi had a small, delicate face with long, curled eyelashes and bright, clear eyes—very much like the bunny stickers she used. She was beautiful and incredibly cute, exactly the type Shangguan Shi preferred.
Moving her gaze upward to the girl’s wig, Shangguan Shi asked with concern, “Wanwan, how is your injury?”
“It’s almost healed.” Wanyi took off the wig to show the spot. “See? New skin has grown in, and a little bit of hair too.”
The wound hadn’t been large to begin with, and after the stitches were removed, it healed quickly, though the itching during the scabbing phase was quite annoying.
Seeing the Alpha staring at the wound with a slight frown, Wanyi assumed she found it unsightly. She quickly put the wig back on; she couldn’t afford to be disliked before the marriage alliance was secured.
She changed the subject. “Sister Shi, do you finish work this late every day?” It was already seven in the evening.
Assuming the girl was dissatisfied, Shangguan Shi explained, “I’ve been quite busy lately. I’ll come to pick you up earlier next time.”
“So you’ve already decided there will be a next time? It seems Sister Shi is very satisfied with me.” Wanyi’s tone was smug and happy, her eyes sparkling as if she truly adored the woman before her, or perhaps like a little fox playing a prank.
Shangguan Shi avoided the Omega’s gaze. “Wanwan, I will take our relationship seriously. I hope you will do the same.”
“Of course I will. If I didn’t like you, why would I spend so much time on you? It’s not like I can’t find other Alphas.”
Thinking about it, that was true. There was no reason for Jiang Wanyi to be teasing her, yet Shangguan Shi still felt as if this were an illusion. She considered herself quite dull. While she had wealth, so did the Jiang family. While she was attractive, so was Jiang Wanyi. What exactly was the girl after?
The car stopped at a red light. Two college girls walked past, and one of them said, “Love has no logic or reason.”
Is that so? Shangguan Shi wondered. She looked back at the Omega ten years her junior. The girl gave her a radiant smile before looking down to take small sips of her milk tea. Everything seemed fine, but Shangguan Shi didn’t believe in things just falling into one’s lap.

When they arrived, Shangguan Shi realized her assistant had booked a restaurant specifically for couples. Wanyi, having done her homework, wasn’t surprised at all.
She knew she should have affectionately taken the Alpha’s arm, but she couldn’t suppress her disgust. Instead, she walked a few steps up the stairs and turned back. “Sister Shi, why aren’t you coming?”
Only then did Shangguan Shi follow her into the restaurant. An elevator took them to the top floor. As a waiter led the way, Wanyi looked around with curiosity. She hadn’t been here before, but the decor was creative and the hallway was luxuriously decorated, making her look forward to the food.
Once they reached their table, the waiter left, and shortly after, the food was served. The servers were all attractive and well-built, and Wanyi actually recognized the person leading them. It was a senior from her university, an Alpha who had been pestering her for a long time.
Song Manyun hadn’t expected to see Jiang Wanyi here. In her mind, Wanyi wasn’t particularly wealthy, but when she saw Shangguan Shi’s face and the luxury watch on her wrist worth millions, she understood. No wonder Jiang Wanyi had looked down on her.
