After Losing My Memory, I Went After My Archenemy - Chapter 28
The people in the hotel initially noticed something was wrong when one of the club members went to find the president, Lin Xi, about a temporary issue, only to discover she wasn’t in her room and couldn’t be reached.
Just as everyone was at a loss, even considering calling the police, Lin Xi returned, seemingly carrying someone on her back.
It turned out to be Xia Rou, the person who was claimed to have returned to the hotel a long time ago.
The club members all rushed forward to help, shocked by her miserable state and what she must have gone through.
Together, they helped carry Xia Rou back to her room. In the chaos, Xia Rou saw many people in her room, asking after her, offering her water, food, and washcloths.
She was touched by the warmth before her, but she was also eager to fix her appearance. Even with possible injuries all over her body, as long as her legs and arms weren’t broken, she had to clean herself up.
Seeing her insistence on taking a shower, Lin Xi led everyone else out of the room.
Walking into the bathroom alone, Xia Rou only briefly glanced at her reflection in the mirror before turning away as if to escape. Having always presented herself in a flawless and radiant manner, she couldn’t bear to let others see her like this.
Enduring the pain on her body, she struggled to take off her clothes and stepped under the shower.
The hot water washed away the mud, but it also rinsed over the cuts and abrasions on her wounds, causing pain that made her grit her teeth and bite her lip.
After finally finishing her shower, she had to bear the pain again to put on the bathrobe.
Xia Rou now stood in front of the mirror again, wiping away the steam. Fortunately, her current appearance was more acceptable to her.
Next was…
A knock came from the door. Xia Rou went to open it. Lin Xi was standing outside.
“A first-aid kit borrowed from the hotel reception,” Lin Xi said, looking at her, her expression seeming less indifferent than before.
Although the situation was complicated at the time, Xia Rou still remembered the comforting words, “I’m here,” that the other person said while holding her tight.
“Please come in.” She took a shy step back.
After letting Lin Xi in, Xia Rou proactively rolled up her sleeves, exposing her arms, which were covered in scrapes.
Lin Xi paused, seemingly not expecting Xia Rou to want her to personally apply the medicine.
Seeing her lack of action, Xia Rou moved closer, the hint being very obvious.
Lin Xi had no choice but to sit down, open the medical kit, and carefully begin treating her injuries.
After both arms were taken care of, Xia Rou, without a word, lifted the lower part of her bathrobe to expose her thighs.
“…I’ll call the other female members,” the Alpha quickly turned her face away, as if she had seen something she shouldn’t have.
“Aren’t you a female too?”
Xia Rou’s question seemed innocent, but she was deliberately teasing, especially when she noticed Lin Xi’s slightly flushed earlobes, which made her even more eager to flirt.
Involuntarily clenching the fingers that rested below the table, Lin Xi abruptly stood up the next second, still maintaining her stance, “I’ll call someone else.”
“Forget it!”
Xia Rou refused crossly, covering her thigh back up.
“You can return the first-aid kit. I don’t need it anymore.” With that, she walked toward the door.
“Where are you going?” Lin Xi asked in a moment of panic.
“To settle the score with the person who caused me all this.” The Omega’s figure disappeared through the door as her final words trailed off.
Learning Xia Zhi’s room number from the front desk, Xia Rou marched over aggressively. The moment Xia Zhi opened the door and saw the visitor, her face turned instantly pale with fright.
Xia Rou pushed inside, slammed the door shut, and immediately started punching and kicking her. Since she had already decided to show no mercy, she wouldn’t hold back at all.
Beaten up, Xia Zhi rushed back to Lincheng that very night and complained tearfully to her parents.
“Look, look, she beat me up like this, completely disregarding our sisterly bond!”
Xia Zhi cried out loudly, which made her parents both heartbroken and indignant. They immediately decided to go to Xia Rou’s house to demand an explanation.
Woken up in the middle of the night, Wu Daiyun and Xia Jianye came out into the courtyard in confusion.
Initially, out of respect for her sister-in-law, Wu Daiyun was ready to open the door and invite them in, but she didn’t expect Lu Jiaying to start with curses and vulgar language. She simply didn’t open the door, confronting the third brother and his wife from behind the iron gate.
“Our Rou Rou is not the type to hit someone for no reason. It must be something Xia Zhi did. Don’t come to our house and make a scene without knowing the whole story.”
After the last incident, Wu Daiyun put aside her reputation as gentle and virtuous. She didn’t mind looking like a shrew to protect her daughter.
“Wu Daiyun, you have the guts to let your daughter hit people, but not the guts to open the door? Open up for me!” Lu Jiaying shook the iron gate angrily.
“Yes, second brother, since your Xia Rou hurt someone, let us in to get things clear,” the man next to Lu Jiaying said.
Xia Jianye, for once, stood by his wife. He said calmly and somewhat coldly, “Rou Rou won’t be back until tomorrow. Let’s deal with this tomorrow.”
After speaking, the man raised his hand and put it around his wife’s shoulder, signaling her to go back to rest, fearing she might be cold.
Wu Daiyun nodded and followed him to turn and leave.
“Xia Jianye, don’t you dare leave! Xia Jianye, open the door for me!”
Lu Jiaying was driven mad with anger, dropping even the usual respectful address.
The next day, the main group returned. Xia Rou received a call from home early in the morning, informing her of what had happened in the middle of the night, and her mood instantly plummeted.
Sure enough, the third uncle’s family was just as annoying as Xia Zhi, like sticky toffee that couldn’t be shaken off.
In the hotel’s second-floor restaurant, everyone rushed to eat their last breakfast there.
Lin Xi, sitting alone, subconsciously looked around. Almost everyone was present, except for Xia Rou.
Just then, a club member walked by with a tray, and Lin Xi stopped her to ask, “Have you seen Xia Rou?”
“She seemed to have gone straight to the bus. She looked like she wasn’t in a very good mood.”
After breakfast, everyone took their luggage and headed to the bus, the same coach they came in.
Xia Rou sat in the inner seat by the window, resting her head against the glass and staring blankly. She actually noticed everyone getting on the bus, but she still couldn’t be bothered to move.
Before long, someone sat down in the seat next to her. Xia Rou still didn’t move until a hand reached out in front of her. The hand was very beautiful, with long, distinct fingers, holding a takeout breakfast box from the hotel.
Xia Rou turned in surprise. It was Lin Xi.
She originally had no appetite, but seeing that Lin Xi personally brought her breakfast, Xia Rou was very kind and ate it all.
It was another day of long travel. It was evening when they arrived home. Xia Zhi’s family of three was indeed waiting in the living room. The moment Xia Zhi saw Xia Rou return, her eyes visibly avoided her with a hint of guilt.
Sure enough, Third Aunt Lu Jiaying stepped forward, immediately demanding an explanation from Xia Rou, asking why she had been so cruel to her younger sister, putting on an arrogant victim’s stance.
Since they had come to her house, Xia Rou didn’t plan to hold back. She pulled open her collar and rolled up her sleeves in front of everyone.
“You want to check the injuries, do you? Let’s see whose injuries are more numerous?”
Wu Daiyun was frightened and immediately rushed forward, her brows furrowed in distress as she asked, “Oh my goodness, how did you get all these?”
Xia Rou recounted the whole story in detail. During the process, Xia Zhi’s head noticeably sank lower and lower.
“You’re slandering her. Your sister couldn’t possibly do such a thing!” Lu Jiaying had clearly lost her initial momentum.
“If you don’t believe me, ask her then,” Xia Rou put her clothes back on.
Under her parents’ questioning, Xia Zhi remained silent. Lu Jiaying, blindly defending her daughter, said, “You claim Zhi Zhi did it, but do you have proof? You hit her, and that is undeniable.”
“You want proof, is that it?” Xia Rou sneered, “Not only do I have proof, but I also have more than ten witnesses. If you really want to pursue this, I don’t mind us all going to the police station, it’s just that it would be embarrassing for the entire Xia family if it gets blown up.”
Involving the family’s reputation, Third Uncle severely tugged at Lu Jiaying’s arm, warning her not to continue making trouble. He had already understood that his daughter was indeed the one who wronged Xia Rou first.
Just like that, they arrived aggressively but had to leave shamefully.
However, from then on, the second and third families of the Xia family officially severed their relationship, making reconciliation difficult.
Wu Daiyun was greatly relieved that her husband finally took on the responsibility of a father this time, but that didn’t mean everything in the past could be forgiven.
Xia Rou still didn’t talk much to her father, returning upstairs and asking her mother to disinfect and apply medicine to the parts of her back that she couldn’t reach.
“It’s good that you’re safe. If I had known this, I wouldn’t have agreed to let you go,” Wu Daiyun said, heartbroken.
“Actually, this trip did have some gains,”
Thinking of this, Xia Rou couldn’t help but smile sweetly.
