After Little Sweet Omega Runs with the Ball - Chapter 2
Ji Mingxue’s mind was hazy as she directly took the room key from Song Shuangtian’s mouth.
In an instant, all of Ji Mingxue’s rationality vanished into thin air.
Just moments ago at the banquet, she had still been able to control her pheromones, but the moment they entered the washroom, the scorching heat in her body completely devoured her reason, leaving nothing behind.
Ji Mingxue’s dark, fathomless eyes fixed on Song Shuangtian’s face.
Hmph.
This kind of person was no different from any other omega she had encountered before those who schemed to climb into her bed.
But it was precisely at this moment, when Ji Mingxue couldn’t utter a single word of refusal, that she appeared.
Without hesitation, Ji Mingxue grabbed the little omega’s arm and dragged her into the elevator.
By the time the two of them arrived in the hotel suite, Ji Mingxue still hadn’t fully regained her senses. She was reacting to Song Shuangtian’s pheromones.
“Hiss.”
The sunny scent of orange blossoms intertwined with the alpha’s magnolia pheromones.
The omega’s soft fingers brushed against the inside of Ji Mingxue’s wrist.
Slowly moving upward.
All the way to her shoulder.
Song Shuangtian’s rationality crumbled, utterly defeated.
Her tea-colored peach-blossom eyes were dazed as an alpha, how was she supposed to mark another alpha?
The omega instinctively leaned closer to the alpha, each breath a testament to the restless agitation of the pheromones within her.
Rip!
As Ji Mingxue’s clothes were completely torn apart, both of them froze for a moment. Song Shuangtian clung tightly to Ji Mingxue’s body, as if only by pressing close to her could the heat in her own body subside.
Completely oblivious to the overwhelming influence of their highly compatible pheromones.
Under the absolute synchronization of their pheromones, even the usually composed and indifferent Ji Mingxue couldn’t maintain control. She forcefully pinned Song Shuangtian onto the soft bed. Song Shuangtian’s muddled brain lost all capacity for thought, her eyes blankly fixed on the crystal chandelier above.
Song Shuangtian closed her eyes. In this state, would she even be able to resign smoothly?
Someone like Ji Mingxue would probably just play around and then move on. Would Ji Mingxue even feel awkward when they met again in the future? With the last of her strength, Song Shuangtian gritted her teeth and bit down on Ji Mingxue’s neck.
Alpha: ?
The omega, fierce yet adorable, sank her teeth into Ji Mingxue’s neck. The warm touch of her tongue and the sharpness of her teeth ignited Ji Mingxue’s burning desire completely. With a muffled groan, Ji Mingxue pressed Song Shuangtian deeper into the pillow.
Was this a challenge?
No alpha could tolerate such an almost insulting provocation from an omega.
“Hey, Dr. Li.”
Ji Mingxue’s breathing was heavy, each exhale trembling slightly. Beads of sweat slid down from her hair.
With a soft pat, a drop of sweat landed on her phone screen.
“It’s me. Are you feeling unwell? Where are you? I’ll come right away.”
Dr. Li could tell immediately that something was wrong with Ji Mingxue either she was drunk, or someone had slipped her a pheromone stimulant.
There was no way she had actually encountered a highly compatible omega and been forced into a rut, right?
With Ji Mingxue’s unique pheromones, could there really be a matching partner for her?
Ji Mingxue gritted her teeth and spat out the room number before immediately hanging up the phone. The shameless little omega had her legs wrapped around Ji Mingxue, whimpering and moaning as she tried to continue biting her neck.
“Enough. Snap out of it.”
It was unclear whether those words were meant for Song Shuangtian or herself.
Song Shuangtian showed no reaction, only pressing herself closer to Ji Mingxue, her sharp little fangs still grazing the alpha’s neck. Yet, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t break through the outermost layer of skin, leaving behind marks that looked more like love bites instead.
Ji Mingxue: “…”
Ji Mingxue: “Listen, I’m giving you one last chance, Song Shuangtian. I don’t know how you managed to get hired at M Group, but if you want to leave now, I can pretend I know nothing and let you keep your position.”
Song Shuangtian’s mind was a haze of delirium, stubbornly fixated on the patch of skin between her teeth.
Ji Mingxue: “…”
Ji Mingxue closed her eyes.
She had reached her limit.
Their long hair tangled together, their pale skin now flushed a faint pink.
The Hetian jade bracelet on the alpha’s wrist, once cool to the touch, had warmed with her body heat. Meanwhile, Song Shuangtian’s clothes had been torn away in the struggle, leaving only a string of pearls around her neck the last remaining garment on the omega’s body.
Dr. Li stood at the door with a first-aid kit in hand.
She knocked. “President Ji, I’m here.”
No response.
Dr. Li scratched her head in frustration. She tried to catch a whiff of pheromones seeping through the door, but the hotel’s scent isolation was far above national standards, she detected nothing.
What a headache!
Inside the room.
Song Shuangtian’s voice grew increasingly fragmented as she gazed dazedly at Ji Mingxue.
Wait, no as an alpha, she should be the one making the other person’s voice break like this.
But Song Shuangtian’s mind was too clouded to think straight. Maybe she had successfully marked this alpha?
Ji Mingxue showed no intention of stopping.
Two hours later, Dr. Li’s phone buzzed with a notification, a hefty transfer from Ji Mingxue.
“Sorry for the wait. I’m fine tonight.”
Dr. Li, who had been growing impatient outside the door, now felt all her irritation melt away at the sight of the generous sum.
“Alright, I’ve left the pheromone suppressants by your door. Don’t forget to take them.”
She shrugged. It seemed the head of M Group had enjoyed quite the unforgettable night.
The next morning.
Song Shuangtian woke up with a sore neck, rubbing it as she sat up. The other side of the bed was cold, the person who had been with her last night was already gone.
The room still carried the crisp scent of magnolia pheromones, though compared to yesterday’s intensity, it had softened, as if blended with the warmth of sunlight.
Instinctively, Song Shuangtian touched her neck, a gland patch was stuck there.
What the hell was this?
She had never worn a gland patch before. In fact, she had never experienced pheromone loss of control. For the longest time, even her family had assumed she was a beta.
A business card lay on the nightstand. Song Shuangtian’s body ached all over, and the sight of it only fueled her irritation.
Although the business card bore Ji Mingxue’s contact information,
In what should have been a clash between two alphas, she was the one who ended up injured.
A flicker of unwillingness flashed through the little omega’s eyes.
The private contact number of M Group’s powerful leader made it impossible for Song Shuangtian to tear the card up in a fit of anger. Instead, she calmly tucked it into her handbag.
As a competent corporate spy, she couldn’t afford to miss any opportunity to gather intelligence on the rival company.
“My dear little ancestor, where on earth have you been?”
When Cui Yu finally saw Song Shuangtian again, she was nearly frantic with worry. She pointed at her phone, showing thirty-two missed calls. “Song Shuangtian, if you hadn’t shown up today, I would’ve called the police.”
“Sorry, sis.”
Song Shuangtian suppressed the exhaustion in her expression and apologized softly, the picture of a perfectly mannered junior.
Cui Yu’s gaze immediately locked onto the disheveled collar of Song Shuangtian’s shirt, which looked as though it had been gnawed to shreds.
“My god, did someone drag you into an alley and beat you up?”
Cui Yu had initially meant to tease Song Shuangtian about hooking up with some alpha, but she hadn’t expected that just the small exposed area of her collar would reveal a mess of overlapping bruises.
Song Shuangtian: “…”
Song Shuangtian closed her eyes in agony.
She popped a lollipop into her mouth, pretending it was a cigarette, letting the sugar soothe the inexplicable emotions churning inside her.
“I wasn’t beaten up. I just smelled an unpleasant pheromone at the banquet last night and had an allergic reaction.”
In this world, it was true that some people could have allergic reactions to others’ pheromones, but cases as severe as Song Shuangtian’s where her entire body was covered in eerie bruises and swelling were rare.
Cui Yu nodded, reluctantly accepting the explanation.
No one questioned Song Shuangtian’s identity as an omega. After all, she looked like a sweet, delicate girl nothing like an alpha.
Most omegas wore gland patches on their necks.
Cui Yu placed a stack of documents on Song Shuangtian’s wobbly desk, a stark contrast to the luxurious hotel suite from the night before. But Song Shuangtian didn’t show a hint of disdain. Instead, it was Cui Yu who frowned at the unstable desk and immediately called the administrative department.
“These two jewelry design drafts need revisions. Get them to me by this afternoon.”
Song Shuangtian was running a low fever, her usually fair cheeks now flushed a peachy pink. Her bright, captivating peach-blossom eyes were almost too striking.
“Got it.”
“My sweetheart, your voice is so hoarse. If you can’t push through, take the afternoon off.”
A colleague from another department, passing by, couldn’t help but feel sympathy seeing Song Shuangtian propping up her flushed face while struggling to work.
Song Shuangtian smiled shyly. “It’s fine. I’ll feel better after a short rest.”
An alpha couldn’t possibly run a low fever could she have caught a cold from the chilly room when her clothes were torn last night?
The thought that she might be an omega never crossed her mind.
Cough, cough.
The design Song Shuangtian needed to revise was an orchid-themed bracelet.
Delicate orchid leaves twined around the wrist, requiring an abundance of emeralds, with the edges and veins primarily composed of diamonds.
The high hardness and dazzling brilliance of diamonds made them the cornerstone of high-end jewelry.
Song Shuangtian rubbed her temples as she sketched the design, torn between using purple sapphires or purple diamonds. In the end, she opted for purple sapphires, as the rarity of purple diamonds made them less suitable for capturing the delicate luster of orchids.
She jotted down notes with her fountain pen, musing that purple spodumene, tourmaline, or tanzanite might also be viable alternatives.
“Xiao Song, your efficiency is incredible. It’s hard to believe you’re a newcomer,” Cui Yu praised before taking Song Shuangtian to meet the upper management. Without hesitation, Cui Yu attributed the success of the design draft entirely to Song Shuangtian.
The higher-ups were equally impressed. “Thank goodness you’re with M Group. If you had chosen ST instead, I’d have been heartbroken.”
Song Shuangtian: “…”
You can still be heartbroken now if you want.
After work, Song Shuangtian drove her unremarkable, mid-range car away from M Group’s headquarters.
From the fiftieth floor, Ji Mingxue sipped her coffee as she watched the plain black sedan disappear down the road.
Song Shuangtian, was it?
Beside her lay the freshly completed three-piece orchid series hand-drawn jewelry designs.
“Not bad. She has potential to climb higher. Send these to the 3D modeling department.”
“Yes.”
Ji Mingxue took another sip of the overly bitter coffee.
The lingering aroma on her tongue only deepened her craving for the scent of sunlit orange blossoms.
That little omega was quite adorable when she cried.
Ji Mingxue wasn’t oblivious to the fact that Song Shuangtian’s deliberate lack of gland patches around her was calculated.
But so what? At Ji Mingxue’s level, beautiful companions were never in short supply.
“Workplace favors” carried no moral weight for someone of her status just another option in the pursuit of pleasure.
As she left, Lu Xing happened to glance back and caught a glimpse of a faint, suggestive mark on the CEO’s neck.
Logically, an alpha’s neck shouldn’t bear such traces after all, unlike omegas, they had no glands there, no reason for anyone to kiss it.
Not my business. Workplace romances are beyond this emotionless drone’s understanding.
Lu Xing quietly closed the door.
“When are you quitting, young miss?” Yuan Yin sat across from Song Shuangtian, nearly losing her mind. “You’re running a fever let me take you to the hospital. Please tell me you didn’t let that pig take advantage of you?”
As Song Shuangtian’s childhood friend practically a cousin, Yuan Yin had grown up with her.
Rubbing her slightly numb gland, Song Shuangtian felt a wave of warmth spread through her body.
Not bad at all.
Who knew two alphas sleeping together could be so mutually satisfying?
Her voice hoarse but her bright eyes gleaming with amusement, Song Shuangtian said, “Tell your family to hurry up. M Group plans to acquire mining fields by next year’s first quarter. If they succeed, sourcing high-quality diamonds will become much harder for our company.”
“Rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and garnets are all diamond co-products. If M Group monopolizes those mines, prices for these gems will spike next year.”
Yuan Yin’s words stirred a pang of anxiety in her. She scratched her head and said, “I only recently heard that your father has an alpha illegitimate child out there. Damn it, the higher-ups are all saying your dad favors that bastard as his successor.”
Song Shuangtian curled her lips slightly. “How impressive.”
Seeing that Song Shuangtian wasn’t worried and instead leaned back in the café playing with her phone, Yuan Yin felt half of her concern ease.
“As long as you know what you’re doing, that’s fine. But give it to me straight, when are you resigning?”
“Let me divine it for you. If you don’t resign, something very bad will happen.”
Song Shuangtian narrowed her eyes. “We’ll see.”
“How bad?”
She still had Ji Mingxue’s private contact in her pocket. If she resigned now, she’d probably lose a lot.
At the very least, she had to wait until the mine situation was settled.
“Extremely bad.”
If she had to put it into words, it might be, a bloody disaster?
The omega, still running a low fever from being freshly marked, shivered instinctively. She tightened her coat, paid the bill at the counter, and slipped into her car.
In the empty house, Song Shuangtian submerged herself completely in the hot bathwater.
Her hand emerged from the tub, dripping water as she absentmindedly fished out Ji Mingxue’s business card from her coat.
The card carried faint, crisp traces of magnolia scent, the distinctive fragrance of an alpha.
Song Shuangtian closed her eyes and held the card to her nose.
“It’s not that unpleasant.”
She bit down on the card, leaving a tiny tooth mark with her small canine.
