After Little Sweet Omega Runs with the Ball - Chapter 18
The rain outside grew heavier, showing no signs of stopping soon as the alpha had claimed.
Bean-sized raindrops pounded against the pavilion roof, creating a rhythmic pattering sound.
The omega was pinned against the stiff couch inside the pavilion, tears of physiological reaction glistening at the corners of her eyes.
“Mmm stop, someone’s here.”
Song Shuangtian’s voice was hoarse as she pleaded, “Get off me!”
She curled deeper into her clothes, her lashes trembling, tears clinging precariously to the edges of her eyes.
Yet the alpha showed no intention of hiding anything, instead pressing her thumb repeatedly against the gland on the back of Song Shuangtian’s neck, each touch sending shivers down the girl’s nerves.
The sound of rain boots splashing against the stone path made Song Shuangtian’s pupils constrict in alarm. Yuan Yin was passing by not far away.
Yuan Yin, wearing oversized rain boots, muttered softly to herself, “Goldie, Goldie!”
Goldie was the name of her little Maltese.
Holding an umbrella, Yuan Yin glanced curiously at the pavilion in the distance, catching the mingled scents of an omega and an alpha in the air.
Why would pheromones be present in a place like this?
Inside the pavilion, Song Shuangtian bit down hard on the inside of her wrist, not daring to make a sound yet her pheromones betrayed her presence unmistakably.
Damn it.
This was beyond mortifying.
Song Shuangtian squeezed her eyes shut in agony, enduring the waves of heat coursing through her body, making her head spin.
Even though the alpha was merely rubbing her thumb against the back of her neck, the strange sensation made Song Shuangtian feel as though she were submerged in scalding water.
Her abdomen burned faintly, as if all the inexplicable discomfort in her body had melted away.
The alpha’s other hand toyed with the necklace around her neck, the smooth pearls grazing against her snow-white skin, their cool surface gradually warming.
“Why aren’t you struggling?”
Ji Mingxue’s lips brushed against the omega’s gland, her words muffled. “What does it matter if we’re discovered?”
Song Shuangtian thought grimly that if they were found out, she’d have to silence Yuan Yin permanently.
To Ji Mingxue, her little employee seemed utterly terrified, her body curled pitifully in her arms, fingers clutching helplessly at her sleeve like a helpless fledgling.
Fragile, delicate, dependent on others for survival.
Ji Mingxue’s eyes darkened, and in a rare moment of mercy, she pulled Song Shuangtian even closer.
This girl was far too easily embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Yuan Yin, who had finally found her dog, sneezed violently.
“Someone’s talking about me?”
She narrowed her eyes thoughtfully at the quiet pavilion shrouded in rain.
In her arms, Goldie now more of a black dog than a white one, let out a couple of barks. Woof woof! QAQ
Yuan Yin gave the dog’s head a firm rub.
“No more running off.”
Goldie’s expression clearly said, I’ll do it again.
The sea breeze was always strong. A gust of wind lifted a corner of the bamboo curtain, revealing a glimpse of a familiar figure.
Just a silhouette was enough to make Yuan Yin’s pupils contract sharply.
Long hair covered most of the girl’s back, her delicate frame leaning into the arms of a woman whose face remained obscured.
The woman’s fingers gripped the back of the girl’s neck right over the gland like a hunter restraining prey.
Someone was indulging in secret pleasures here.
Yuan Yin immediately averted her gaze.
And in that moment, a bizarre thought flashed through her mind.
No way, no way that couldn’t be Song Shuangtian, could it??
The air carried a faint scent of orange blossom omega pheromones.
Yuan Yin rubbed her nose. She had already taken suppressants, and this particular fragrance wasn’t her type.
Compared to orange blossoms, she much preferred the sweet, cotton candy-like scent of He Yanyan.
But whatever, how could that be possible? Song Shuangtian was an alpha. She must be out of her mind.
Behind the bamboo curtain, Song Shuangtian watched as Yuan Yin walked away.
Her body went limp like a deflated balloon as she slumped against the alpha.
The young woman pressed her forehead against Ji Mingxue’s shoulder. Even though she had only been bitten hard on the neck, her clothes were already half-hanging off her arms, making it look as if something far more scandalous had happened.
“She’s gone now. Where was all that shyness when you were biting me earlier?”
Compared to Song Shuangtian’s mark, the back of Ji Mingxue’s neck was practically a bloody mess.
Several deep bite marks, drawing blood, marred the spot where no scent gland existed.
Song Shuangtian growled low in her throat like a feral little beast, baring her teeth. “You!”
Right now, she could only barely maintain her fierce front. In reality, she could barely stand, leaning bonelessly against Ji Mingxue.
Her fingers wandered along Ji Mingxue’s waist, occasionally pinching in frustration.
Ji Mingxue’s fingers traced Song Shuangtian’s jaw, forcing her to look up.
“After the New Year, I’ll promote you. Your skills are good, you shouldn’t just be an unknown junior designer.”
Song Shuangtian: “.”
Song Shuangtian: Is there a chance I already wrote my resignation letter? 🙂
Squeezing people dry for work, then squeezing them dry again to satisfy base desires.
What a capitalist.
“I still lack experience. Don’t make things difficult for me, President Ji.”
The young woman was sensible, neither demanding nor grasping. After getting involved with her, she hadn’t asked for money, status, or even a promotion at the company. Her only request was to focus on work and not waste time on this kind of thing.
Ji Mingxue would be lying if she said she wasn’t moved.
As the heavy rain outside gradually eased, neither of them was dry. The wind had carried droplets onto their skin, leaving their clothes clinging tightly.
Remounting the horse, Song Shuangtian was held around the waist by Ji Mingxue as they entered the vacation villa through the back door.
The black horse snorted and pawed the ground, as if curious about what its two owners had been doing in the pavilion earlier.
In the corridor, Yuan Yin, holding a small Maltese, glanced back at them.
Song Shuangtian glared fiercely at Yuan Yin before slamming the door shut.
Yuan Yin: ?
Ji Mingxue chuckled. “Do you have a problem with ST Group’s shareholders?”
Song Shuangtian lifted her chin haughtily. “I want to beat her up right now. Would you stop me, President Ji?”
Ji Mingxue: “I wouldn’t. But don’t bite her neck.”
Song Shuangtian grew even angrier.
Ji Mingxue went to another bathroom to take a hot shower. By the time she returned, Song Shuangtian was still in the shower. The alpha thoughtfully left fresh clothes by the door for her to change into.
As the phone rang, Ji Mingxue leaned against the sofa to answer. It was HR.
“President Ji, we’ve sent next month’s promotion list to your email. Are there any changes you’d like to make?”
Opening the list, she wasn’t surprised to find Song Shuangtian’s name missing.
Cui Yu’s name, however, was prominently featured.
“This kid.” Ji Mingxue sighed and shook her head. The girl never fought for anything, just worked diligently at the company without asking for any benefits. It was fortunate she had met her, otherwise she would have been taken advantage of anywhere.
“Add Song Shuangtian’s name to the list,” Ji Mingxue said to the person on the other end of the phone. “Transfer her to be the CEO’s secretary, pay her the highest salary tier, and arrange for a senior employee to mentor her.”
As the CEO’s secretary, she would have access to Ji Mingxue’s daily life and most of the company’s major decisions.
The HR department on the other end of the line had never heard the CEO speak so gently to anyone before. To an uninformed listener, it might have sounded like sweet nothings.
A cold sweat broke out on the HR manager’s back. “Understood, I’ll handle it right away.”
As the screen darkened, another video call came through almost immediately.
Song Shuangtian carefully applied the omega-specific gland patch to the back of her neck.
It had been over two and a half months since her first time with Ji Mingxue, and her previously flat stomach now had a barely noticeable curve.
Had she been eating too much lately?
Song Shuangtian didn’t dwell on it, casually throwing on a bathrobe as she stepped out of the bathroom while drying her hair.
This relationship couldn’t continue any longer.
A shadow passed through Song Shuangtian’s eyes. She could feel her emotions spiraling out of control something that should never happen to a corporate heir.
It was just a temporary affair. Her rational mind told her not to get too attached, but emotionally. Song Shuangtian had grown fond of Ji Mingxue’s pheromones.
Too bad emotions had no place in the workplace.
Lost in thought, Song Shuangtian didn’t notice Ji Mingxue had turned on the camera. “Song Shuangtian, this is my mother.”
Ji Mingxue waved. “Mother, this is Song Shuangtian, the talented girl I told you about before.”
Song Shuangtian looked up abruptly, coming face-to-face with the mixed-race, brown-haired woman on the phone screen, an alpha noblewoman, well-maintained, with a dignified smile and features strikingly similar to Ji Mingxue’s.
“H-Hello.”
“Hello there. I’ve often heard A-Xue talk about this designer she admires.”
“Ah, it’s an honor.”
Flustered, Song Shuangtian tightened the belt of her bathrobe, shooting Ji Mingxue an incredulous look.
She was meeting the chairman of M Group just like this?
Ji Mingxue smiled faintly. “Mother, Song Shuangtian just got out of the shower. She didn’t know I was on video.”
The woman in the video chuckled warmly. “My bad for calling at the wrong time. I didn’t mean to interrupt you lovebirds.”
“A-Xue, how could you? The poor girl’s hair is still dripping. Hurry up and help her dry it.”
Lovebirds??
In her panic, Song Shuangtian tied the bathrobe belt into a tight knot.
Are you sleepwalking? What nonsense are you saying!
Song Shuangtian vaguely remembered meeting the woman during her school days, accompanying her father. As an old friend of her mother’s, the woman had once praised her talent.
Will corporate spies get silenced? Urgent, waiting online.
