After Little Sweet Omega Runs with the Ball - Chapter 17
As it turned out, Song Shuangtian was genuinely unwell. She lay weakly in bed, her usually lively peach-blossom eyes now dull and listless.
“Hmm…”
When Ji Mingxue pushed open the door, she was met with this pitiful sight. The young girl reclined limply on the small bed in the cabin, her face pale, her red miniskirt half-tugged and barely covering her thighs.
“Seasick?”
Ji Mingxue had been somewhat annoyed earlier, but the moment she saw this, her irritation instantly dissipated.
“I took motion sickness medicine, but my body still feels weak.”
The omega was curled up under the blankets, only her teary eyes visible as she peeked at Ji Mingxue through the gaps in the covers.
The alpha’s heart softened at the sight. She turned to pour a glass of warm water and handed it over.
“We’ll dock in twenty minutes. Just hang in there a little longer.”
Normally accustomed to giving orders without a second thought for others’ feelings, Ji Mingxue now felt a twinge of regret. She should have asked about the girl’s condition earlier.
“My legs are a bit swollen.”
With another wave, Song Shuangtian grabbed the trash can and dry-heaved again.
She hadn’t eaten anything since morning, so all she could vomit was the water she had just drunk. QAQ
Ji Mingxue couldn’t bear to watch.
Fine, this time, she’d admit it was her fault.
When Song Shuangtian didn’t respond, Ji Mingxue bent down and took the initiative to remove the omega’s high heels. Her fingers pressed gently against the slightly swollen instep.
Had the alpha been more observant, she might have noticed that the omega’s shoes were a size larger than usual.
Kneeling on the worn cabin carpet, Ji Mingxue used her thumb and index finger to massage the acupressure points around the ankle in slow, deliberate motions.
“Learned this just now?”
She had her phone placed nearby, following an acupressure diagram as she worked on Song Shuangtian.
Her technique was clumsy, yet there was a stubborn determination in her movements as if she wouldn’t stop until she got it right.
Ji Mingxue always strived for perfection in everything she did.
Thanks to the alpha’s massage, Song Shuangtian’s ankles felt much better. As the private yacht docked, the lush greenery of Blue Lake Island greeted them, the fresh scent of plants easing some of the seasickness.
Stepping from the swaying yacht onto solid ground, Song Shuangtian’s knees suddenly buckled, and she leaned weakly against Ji Mingxue.
Ji Mingxue steadied her with a firm grip around her waist, then bent down to whisper in her ear.
Yuan Yin watched, jaw nearly dropping.
“…”
Wait since when were you such a good actress?
Yuan Yin was an alpha, and she had never once caught a whiff of omega pheromones from Song Shuangtian. Though she hadn’t detected any alpha scent either, she had instinctively assumed that, given Song Shuangtian’s parents’ genes, it was unlikely she was a beta.
He Yanyan called out, “Sister Yuan Yin?”
Walking ahead with a Maltese puppy in her arms, the little dog let out a soft whimper.
Yuan Yin snapped out of her daze. “You should learn from her. You’re always cuddling that dog and ignoring me.”
He Yanyan scratched the puppy’s head. “?”
Once on Blue Lake Island, Ji Mingxue took Song Shuangtian to the stables to fetch a small horse.
The others had the staff deliver their luggage to the vacation villas before splitting up some went fishing, others surfing, gathering in small groups. In contrast, Ji Mingxue’s side seemed unusually quiet.
Ji Mingxue sat astride a tall black steed, her legs gripping the horse’s flanks tightly. The wild-looking black horse seemed unusually docile beneath her.
The omega had swapped her red dress for a pair of riding pants.
A salty sea breeze carrying the briny scent of the ocean brushed against her face, sweeping her jet-black, seaweed-like hair backward and revealing the elegant, striking line of her jaw.
I should probably get a check-up soon.
Song Shuangtian thought to herself, sensing something off about her body likely related to her pheromones.
If the check-up shows any issues, I’ll take a leave of absence and rest for a while.
Standing beneath a tree, she opened her browser and typed: What are the side effects if an alpha is long-term marked by another alpha?
No relevant answers appeared online.
Song Shuangtian: “…”
Perhaps the phrase “long-term marking” triggered the search engine’s auto-suggestions,the top result was: Recommended maternity hospitals.
Song Shuangtian: “…?”
Trash website. Reported.
Suddenly, a strong force lifted her into the air. An arm wrapped securely around her waist, effortlessly placing her onto the saddle.
Song Shuangtian: !!!!
Her heart raced as her back pressed against Ji Mingxue’s chest. The alpha’s soothing pheromones washed over her, calming her slightly.
The black horse trotted into the forest.
The woods here had a tropical rainforest-like quality lush greenery stretched as far as the eye could see, and the air was thick with the scent of damp earth and the crisp fragrance of leaves.
Blue Lake Island had decent infrastructure but had largely preserved its natural forests, maintaining the ecosystem far better than the overdeveloped tourist islands elsewhere.
With each rhythmic step of the horse, Song Shuangtian was forced to press closer against Ji Mingxue. The alpha’s body heat seeped through the thin fabric between them, warm almost scalding against her skin.
Song Shuangtian was noticeably smaller than Ji Mingxue, who effortlessly held the reins, enveloping her completely.
Ji Mingxue nuzzled the tip of Song Shuangtian’s ear with her nose. “Ever ridden a horse before?”
Song Shuangtian flushed. “No, this is my first time.”
You might not believe it, but my family owns a ranch.
The scent of orange blossoms slowly emanated from her glands, making Ji Mingxue’s breathing grow heavier.
“Do you know why this place is called Blue Lake Island?”
Ji Mingxue didn’t seem to expect an answer. She tightened her legs, urging the horse into a gallop.
They broke through the trees, revealing a lake as blue as sapphire.
“Blue Lake sits at the heart of the island some call it the Eye of God.”
The water was flawlessly clear, a pure, untainted blue.
Even Song Shuangtian, accustomed to breathtaking views, felt as if she had stepped into an artificially enhanced painting.
So beautiful it looks fake the highest praise for nature’s wonders.
But the moment didn’t last. A crack of thunder split the air, startling the black horse. It reared up abruptly.
“Ah!”
Song Shuangtian instinctively reached for the reins, but Ji Mingxue was faster, one arm wrapped around her waist while the other steadied the horse with a series of firm commands.
“Easy now, don’t move.”
The island’s rain arrived without warning.
It would take nearly half an hour to return to the vacation cottage from here.
Large raindrops pelted the alpha and omega as they stood in the wilderness, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Ji Mingxue tightened her grip around Song Shuangtian’s waist, pulling her even closer.
“There’s a pavilion up ahead.”
Ji Mingxue guided the horse toward the pavilion. With practiced courtesy, she dismounted first before lifting her little lover down from the saddle.
“The weather on the island is unpredictable. The rain won’t last long.”
Yet though the rain wouldn’t linger, it came down fiercely, reducing the world to nothing but a hazy curtain of water.
The raindrops struck the surface of the blue lake, disturbing the pure, rational gaze of God’s eye.
The scent of magnolia pheromones grew restless, agitated by the orange blossom pheromones. It had been two weeks since the last marking.
Ji Mingxue prided herself on not being a hedonist otherwise, she wouldn’t have remained single for so long. But her hypersensitivity to Song Shuangtian’s pheromones shattered her rationality the moment she caught a whiff, leaving behind only the desperate urge to merge their scents.
“May I?”
Inside the pavilion was a soft sofa, its surroundings draped with bamboo curtains.
Ji Mingxue had lost all reason, and Song Shuangtian wasn’t faring much better.
For some reason, the back of her neck and abdomen were growing increasingly warm. She had never been particularly dependent on Ji Mingxue’s pheromones before, but as time passed, her legs swelled more, her appetite worsened, and she found herself craving the comfort of Ji Mingxue’s scent even more.
The need, rooted deep in her bones, disgusted Song Shuangtian yet she had no choice but to yield.
I should resign. If she stayed by Ji Mingxue’s side any longer, she might truly find herself falling for this woman.
With what little pride she had left, the omega pressed her hands against Ji Mingxue’s shoulders, pinning her to the sofa. Her knees parted Ji Mingxue’s legs.
“Before you bite me, let me bite you first.”
Damn it.
She had bitten Ji Mingxue so many times, why didn’t her legs swell? Why didn’t she feel nauseous all the time?
The alpha lay beneath her in the rain-drenched pavilion, her posture passive like prey, yet exuding an effortless ease despite being the one restrained.
“Fine. But for every bite you take, I’ll collect a little interest.”
