After Little Sweet Omega Runs with the Ball - Chapter 15
“Alright, leave the documents here. Congratulations on your two-week vacation.”
Song Shuangtian handed the files to her superior, while Cui Yu stood beside her, staring at their boss in disbelief.
“I get a two-week vacation too?!”
“Yes, Director Ji said everyone worked hard on this business trip.”
Cui Yu strongly suspected that the only reason she got this vacation was because of Song Shuangtian, but she had no proof.
As they stepped out of the company, Song Shuangtian squinted against the glaring sunlight before smoothly pulling out a pair of sunglasses from her bag and perching them on her nose.
The entrance of M Group was always bustling with traffic luxury cars coming and going, stopping and leaving in an endless cycle.
Song Shuangtian glanced up toward the 52nd floor, but all she saw was the blinding reflection of glass.
Soon, a black business car pulled up in front of her.
“Get in.”
“If you park so blatantly at the entrance, people might suspect you’re here to steal intel.”
No sooner had she spoken than Ji Mingxue’s sleek black luxury car drove past them!
Startled, Song Shuangtian quickly ducked inside.
Watching the car speed away, her heart pounded wildly.
She leaned back comfortably into the plush seat of the overly luxurious business car, while Yuan Yin sat across from her, crossing her legs.
“Champagne?”
“Just a little.”
Yuan Yin handed the glass to the pretty young employee in front of her. “Unlike you, I’m just here to pick up a friend.”
Yuan Yin, as she appeared before Song Shuangtian, fit every stereotype of a wealthy heiress tweed jacket, a small dog cradled in her arms, a designer handbag with a prominent logo, nails shimmering with crushed diamonds.
The only difference was Song Shuangtian: “You got a new set of tarot cards again.”
Yuan Yin grinned and spread the gold-edged tarot cards across the table. “A gift from my academy instructor.”
Song Shuangtian: “There’s an academy for this?”
Yuan Yin’s smile stiffened. “Of course there is. I’m professionally trained. Who exactly are you looking down on?”
Song Shuangtian: “.”
Yuan Yin’s smile faded as she shuffled the cards like a magician.
“Recently, people from M Group have been looking into your mother.”
Song Shuangtian paused. “My mother?”
She hadn’t spent much time with her mother growing up likely because her mother didn’t particularly like her. After all, her mother had never wanted to be with her father in the first place, and by extension, she hadn’t been fond of the child either.
Song Shuangtian only remembered that her mother was often away on business trips to France when she was young. She always seemed busy there.
Most of Song Shuangtian’s childhood had been spent living with her aunt.
“Don’t worry, though. M Group won’t find anything.”
Song Shuangtian took a sip of champagne, leaning back in her seat, but the ease in her eyes dimmed slightly.
“There’s nothing worth investigating about my mother.”
“Let’s not dwell on such depressing topics. Here ” Yuan Yin slid an elegant invitation across the table. “There’s a private yacht heading to Blue Lake Island in two days. The scenery’s beautiful. Let’s go relax.”
Song Shuangtian didn’t take it. Instead, she pulled out her laptop, balancing it on her knees as she continued answering emails from interns.
“I’d rather not attend your rich kids’ parties. I have work to do.”
Yuan Yin: “…”
Wait, don’t tell me the “work” you’re talking about is mentoring interns for a rival company?!
Yuan Yin said darkly, “Last night, I read the stars. You’ll go.”
Song Shuangtian: “It rained last night.”
Yuan Yin: “…”
That evening, Song Shuangtian was soaking in a bathtub in a somewhat dated house.
The scent of Damascus rose hydrosol slowly unfurled in the steamy water.
Her eyes glistened with moisture as she let her long hair drift across the surface of the water, more luxuriant than the most exquisite seaweed in the ocean.
Accompanied by the buzzing vibration of her phone on the frosted glass coffee table, clarity flickered in the omega’s eyes.
“President Ji?”
Song Shuangtian straightened in the bathtub, water droplets rolling slowly down her pink-tinged skin.
A light, cool voice came through the phone. “Come downstairs. I have something for you.”
“Sorry, I’m in the bath.”
Downstairs, leaning against a black luxury car, stood an alpha in a red dress.
A lemon-flavored lollipop dangled from the corner of her lips, it seemed she always had something perched there, giving her a roguishly handsome air.
Perhaps the steam could somehow travel through the phone signal, because Ji Mingxue could almost smell the fragrance of water cascading over the omega’s body.
Omega pheromones couldn’t transmit through signals, yet Ji Mingxue’s teeth began to itch.
She was hypersensitive to Song Shuangtian’s pheromones.
No doctor had confirmed it this was purely her own perception.
After hanging up, Ji Mingxue appeared at Song Shuangtian’s door, retrieving the key from under the doormat and letting herself in.
The moment she pushed the door open, she was met with the sight of the omega in a white bathrobe, lazily leaning against the arm of the sofa, yawning.
“You shouldn’t let strange alphas into your home.”
Without waiting for a response, Ji Mingxue tossed an exquisitely crafted invitation in front of her.
“In two days, there’s a private yacht heading to Blue Lake Island. I’ll take you to meet some of my friends.”
Fresh from the bath, the omega’s skin was flushed and dewy as she bent over, smoothing a layer of white milk body lotion onto her calves.
The faint scent of freesia-infused lotion seeped into her skin, and Ji Mingxue felt a wave of suffocation.
The lack of oxygen made her head spin, unraveling her rationality.
Song Shuangtian blinked in surprise. “Go where?”
“Blue Lake Island. It’s normal if you haven’t heard of it, it’s a private island.”
Ji Mingxue’s eyes darkened. She didn’t approach the omega; the premonition of her self-control crumbling made a sheen of sweat break out on her forehead. Damn it, maybe I shouldn’t have come up at all.
Unaware of how tempting she looked fresh from the bath, Song Shuangtian’s long strands of hair dripped water, her eyes hazy.
An aged pearl necklace hung around her neck, its luster still radiant likely well-maintained by its owner.
It lent the otherwise sparse, shabby room a touch of opulence.
Song Shuangtian: “What island?”
Ji Mingxue jerked her chin toward the invitation. “Blue Lake Island. Wanna go?”
Song Shuangtian: “…”
Her mood was complicated.
“Fine.”
Slumping back on the sofa, Song Shuangtian looked utterly resigned.
Suddenly, a hand lifted her hair, and the warm breeze of a hairdryer began blowing over it. Song Shuangtian stiffened, the nape of her neck was now completely exposed.
Ji Mingxue expertly dried her hair. “It’s getting colder. You’ll catch a chill.”
“That shareholder is?” A growing sense of foreboding tightened in Song Shuangtian’s chest.
Mistaking her hesitation for displeasure toward ST Group, the alpha offered a rare, reassuring smile.
“It’s Yuan Yin. She hardly gets involved in the group’s management. I know you don’t like ST Group, but just bear with it this time. Don’t rush over and hit her.”
Song Shuangtian cursed inwardly.
The alpha’s voice mingled with the hum of the hairdryer, then suddenly, the noise stopped.
The alpha leaned in, nuzzling the girl’s neck with their nose. Song Shuangtian’s scent gland was different from others it was almost flat, barely noticeable unless touched directly.
With the tip of their nose and lips, the alpha kept grazing that delicate patch of skin. As Song Shuangtian’s breathing gradually quickened, they held out a paper bag in front of her.
“I personally picked out a few dresses for you. Put one on and show me now.”
The alpha’s fingers toyed with the necklace around Song Shuangtian’s neck, tightening and loosening it like a cat playing with a favorite toy.
“And what identity am I going as?”
“My lover. Isn’t that enough?”
