After Knowing the Plot, I Ended Up with the Female Supporting Character - Chapter 7
Those who deceive others will themselves be deceived. Yi Nanyan didn’t consider herself petty, but strictly speaking, Ye Chuxia had already deceived her twice. She couldn’t swallow this humiliation. If she didn’t get her money back, she’d feel bitter no matter how she looked at it!
Of course, the best course of action against a scammer would be to call the police. But although Ye Chuxia had deceived her, Yi Nanyan had never asked for anything in return; she’d given everything willingly. Reporting it might not even lead to a conviction, and she’d have to endure the humiliation again. It just didn’t seem worth it.
Besides, Ye Chuxia was around her own age and probably hadn’t thought things through properly. It was just small amounts of money anyway. There was no need to ruin her future with a criminal record.
But! Emotions must never be taken for granted!
It’s fine to deceive someone for money, but manipulating their feelings is unforgivable!
Yi Nanyan held a grudge over this; if she couldn’t get even, she’d remember it for a lifetime!
Ye Chuxia lay on her bed, staring at the “typing…” notification on her phone, puzzled. Wasn’t it just a yes or no question about going out? Why was she agonizing over it for so long?
Whether it’s a man or a woman, their hearts are as inscrutable as a needle at the bottom of the sea. After watching the notification for a while, Ye Chuxia decisively tossed her phone aside and continued browsing online for areas with high stray cat populations—places where lost cats were more likely to turn up.

A while later, her phone vibrated. She opened it to see a terse “Mm” from Yi Nanyan.
Was that really worth all that hesitation?
Ye Chuxia found Yi Nanyan utterly perplexing. She appeared standoffish, yet was secretly sweet and naive. Her intimidating demeanor belied a mind that was sometimes transparent, yet at other times unfathomable.
It didn’t matter. She was simply after Ye Nanyan’s money. No more scheming to curry favor with her teacher to get private tutoring just to afford the landlord’s rent.
Ye Chuxia sent an emoji and turned off her phone, returning her attention to the computer. The arrow had turned into a spinning circle, moving slowly.
Ye Chuxia waited patiently.
This computer had been a gift from her online scamming “sweetheart.” It was still functional thanks to Ye Chuxia’s careful maintenance and the fact that the computer’s quality truly matched its price.
Ye Chuxia used gifts from others without shame. After all, she hadn’t asked for them; they were freebies she’d received.
Back then, Ye Chuxia had been desperate for money to pay for medical bills, rent, utilities, clothes, and food. Desperate, she’d considered begging, but the chaotic security in the county town made her abandon that idea. Instead, she turned to online scamming.
Initially, Ye Chuxia planned to cast a wide net. She registered over a dozen QQ accounts, intending to scam small amounts from each person. That way, the losses wouldn’t be significant enough to warrant a police report, and as long as the victims remained unaware of each other, she’d be safe.
In the end, only one QQ account proved useful. The person on the other end was foolishly gullible, handing over the item before Ye Chuxia could even say a word. By the time Ye Chuxia made some money and planned to return it, the account had been canceled, and she never logged into the game again.
If given the chance, Ye Chuxia would actually like to return the money. Though she’d been forced into it, it was still theft. Besides, there were plenty of people in the world who were worse off than her. She’d resorted to fraud simply because she couldn’t endure hardship.
After all, there are so many ways to make money, even if you take the wrong path. The sacrifices should be yours alone, not someone else’s burden to bear.
Despite understanding the gravity of her actions, Ye Chuxia felt little guilt. She was too selfish. She understood and could even follow the values her parents and grandmother instilled, but she could never truly believe in them.

The next day, Yi Nanyan’s punctuality made her arrive at school early, but she deliberately delayed. After parking her car, she hid in a spot where she could see the school gate, determined to make Ye Chuxia wait for a while before showing up.
However, she had arrived far too early. The sun hadn’t even set yet, and despite her meticulous preparation, Yi Nanyan was already uncomfortable. Yet the thought of Ye Chuxia anxiously waiting later kept her rooted in place, gritting her teeth. Clad in high heels, her legs ached painfully, souring her mood.
Unfortunately, no one could witness her internal frustration. It wasn’t until less than ten minutes before their agreed meeting time that Ye Chuxia finally appeared at the school gate. Yi Nanyan scoffed inwardly—showing up late to a meeting? No sincerity at all!
Had Ye Chuxia known Yi Nanyan’s thoughts, she would have rolled her eyes. Arriving ten minutes early on a scorching day was already quite considerate. Based on her understanding of Yi Nanyan, who always arrived just on time for class, showing up ten minutes early was actually a cautious approach.
Unaware that Ye Chuxia had thoroughly studied her habits, Yi Nanyan scrutinized her sharply as she stood by the gate.
She wore a white cotton off-the-shoulder dress, her beautiful, straight shoulders framed by collarbones that arched like butterfly wings. Her skin glowed porcelain-white in the sunlight, and her hair was tied up in a youthful bun, making her look young enough that someone might mistake her for a high school student.
Yi Nanyan sneered inwardly.
Looks human, but acts like a monster!
Unaware that Yi Nanyan was mentally cursing her, Ye Chuxia took out her phone and sent a message:
[Sis Nanyan, I’m already here. Have you left yet?]
Ye Chuxia hated waiting, especially on hot days. Whenever she arrived early, she’d text the other person. As long as they still cared about her, they’d usually show up on time when they knew someone was waiting.
Yi Nanyan saw the message but didn’t reply. She now saw Ye Chuxia as nothing but a poser, and she seized every opportunity to strike back, making her feel what it’s like to have someone go missing.
She completely forgot that Ye Chuxia had been similarly dismissive when they’d chatted earlier, so the lack of reply didn’t make Ye Chuxia nervous at all. Knowing Yi Nanyan’s character, she knew that once she gave her word, she wouldn’t go back on it.
After sending the message, Ye Chuxia put away her phone, her eyes unfocused as she waited, mentally rehearsing the upcoming scene to make her performance later flow more smoothly.
After waiting for some time, Ye Chuxia didn’t see Yi Nanyan, but instead, someone approached her to strike up a conversation.
“Hey, beautiful, waiting for someone?”
Ye Chuxia snapped out of her daze, glanced at the speaker, frowned, and ignored him, taking a few steps in the opposite direction.
“Hey, wait, beautiful!” A young man with rainbow-dyed hair stepped in front of Ye Chuxia, his eyes lingering on her bare shoulders before he swallowed hard, unable to suppress his reaction.
Ye Chuxia’s frown deepened. She wasn’t afraid of what he might do at the school gate, but his presence was irritating, and she knew she’d probably have to call security later.
Most people would back off after being rejected, but some thick-skinned, self-delusional types clung like sticky cowhide candy.
She sized up the young man, noting his height and scrawny frame, similar to hers. She was confident she could handle him without even bothering security.
Over the years, Ye Chuxia’s health had never been robust—her thinness was proof of that—but that hadn’t diminished her strength. After all, according to the novel’s backstory, she was a fierce girl who could carry bricks at a construction site at just thirteen. How could she not be strong?
Ye Chuxia had used her strength to collect protection fees before, so she was no stranger to fighting. However, she hesitated to act in a crowded place like the school gate, where her reputation might be ruined.
Unfortunately, her refusal to engage only made the young thug think she was shy. A disgusting smile spread across his face. “Hey, beauty, don’t be shy. How about we grab a bite together?”
As he spoke, he grabbed Ye Chuxia’s arm. She instinctively tried to shake him off, but then she saw Yi Nanyan emerge from a nearby shop. She froze, a question slowly forming in her mind.
Why did she come early without telling me? Does she think arriving early is embarrassing?
Ye Chuxia couldn’t understand Yi Nanyan’s reasoning, but she instinctively began to use this sudden turn of events to her advantage. Her previously forceful struggles softened, becoming weak and clumsy, her entire demeanor screaming, “I’m so helpless!”
The thug grew even more excited. Just as he was about to speak, a sharp pain shot through his waist, and a red high-heeled shoe clattered to the ground beside him.
A second shoe followed moments later.
Yi Nanyan, now barefoot, rushed over and delivered a side kick that sent the thug sprawling onto the ground.
Ye Chuxia immediately darted behind Yi Nanyan, clutching her arm, her voice trembling with tears. “Sister Nanyan!”
Yi Nanyan glared coldly at the thug who had unexpectedly ended up sprawled on the ground. “Get lost!” she snapped.
Bullies who prey on the weak but cower before those who stand up to them are a common breed. Despite Yi Nanyan being a girl, her swift kick was enough to make the thug retreat, clutching his injury and slinking away in disgrace.
Watching him flee, Yi Nanyan frowned as she slipped her shoes back on, her lips pressed into a thin line.
Ye Chuxia gazed at her in admiration. “Sister Nanyan, you’re so amazing!”
Ignoring her, Yi Nanyan finished fastening her shoes before snapping at Ye Chuxia, “Why didn’t you run?”
“Huh?” Ye Chuxia paused, then whimpered, “I tried to run, but I’m too weak to break free.”
Seeing her frail frame, Yi Nanyan didn’t doubt her words. “Idiot,” she growled. “Next time you see someone like that approaching, just run straight back to school!”
“Right!” Ye Chuxia nodded vigorously, her eyes brimming with gratitude. “Sister Nanyan, you’re so kind!”
The earlier incident hadn’t fazed her much. She pulled out her phone. “Let’s go eat first. I’ve already reserved a spot. Oh, it’s exactly 6 PM! Sister Nanyan, you’re right on time!”
Yi Nanyan, having forgotten her initial purpose for coming, cursed inwardly: Damn it!
