These two men seemingly lived in completely different worlds until the day they stunned everyone by going public with their relationship. The news sent shockwaves through both the entertainment industry and the public alike. However, the romance lasted only a year before they abruptly called it quits.
Why did they break up?
According to Ji Xiting, spending a year with a man who gets jealous eight times a day. Sometimes even picking fights with the thin air out of pure spite, is a feat beyond the endurance of any ordinary person.
On the very day they parted ways, a dating variety show reached out to both of them separately. The premise involved finding a new spark right in front of one’s ex. While the idea felt a bit wicked, it was undeniably thrilling, so Ji Xiting signed the contract without a moment of hesitation.
When the day of filming arrived, the two exes found themselves face-to-face at the shared house. Ji Xiting offered a thin smile and remarked that it was quite a coincidence, then he asked if Qin Zheng was there to find love as well. Qin Zheng replied with a cold sneer that he was indeed there to find love, though in reality, he was there to catch a “cheater” in the act.
From that point on, the audience witnessed one awkward yet electrifying scene after another. Whenever Ji Xiting helped a gentle younger contestant tie an apron, Qin Zheng would barge in to take over. If Ji Xiting tried to watch the stars with a refined professor, Qin Zheng would plant himself right between them to act as a human spotlight. When Ji Xiting played ball with an energetic younger guy, Qin Zheng would hog the ball to ensure he remained the protagonist of the court.
Ji Xiting could only scoff at the display and vow that he would eventually find a cure for this man’s behavioral issues.
Later on, a guest rumored to be Ji Xiting’s “white moonlight” first love made a surprise appearance. When Ji Xiting took the initiative to go on a date with the newcomer, Qin Zheng was so furious that he hid on the balcony and let the night wind blow against him for half the evening.
When Ji Xiting returned in high spirits and greeted him by asking if he had been crying, Qin Zheng remained stubbornly silent while tears streamed down his face.
To finally fix Qin Zheng’s jealousy, the two made a pact. Every time Qin Zheng felt a bout of envy, he had to do push-ups until his anger subsided. A month later, Qin Zheng’s six-pack had transformed into a rock-hard eight-pack.
Ji Xiting was left speechless by the realization that the man simply refused to change.
