After Helping the Protagonist Escape From a Madman, I Became His Target [Transmigration Novel] - Chapter 7
The words the System had spoken…
Shen Luyang…
Had absolutely not processed them.
To a straight-man-virgin, regardless of how the events had unfolded, as long as there was a result, it meant he had taken advantage of the other person. Not to mention a face like Xie Weihan’s. It made Shen Luyang feel like nothing more than a beast driven by carnal desire.
Shen Luyang looked solemn: Tongtong, check if Teacher Xie is in the office for me.
[Oho! Have you had a change of heart and decided to find Teacher Xie for a second round? Unfortunately, he’s not there. Right now, he is…]
Shen Luyang’s pace lightened instantly: No need to say more. I’m heading back to the office immediately.
[What a cold-hearted man you are, pulling out and moving on so quickly!]
Shen Luyang ignored the System’s incessant grumbling. His worldviews were currently being demolished and reconstructed; his heart was a turbulent sea of crashing waves…
He and a man he had known for, at most one full day… a man! They had engaged in an intense and, frankly, enjoyable session of manual assistance!
Shen Luyang couldn’t help but wonder: Does this count as a one-night stand?
From a pure-hearted virgin who had reached twenty-four dreaming of a romantic, pure love with a beautiful “Big Sister,” followed by marriage and children, he had suddenly leaped into being a scumbag who had a one-night stand with a sexy, mature man.
The span of this jump was so wide that Shen Luyang felt if his legs weren’t so long, he would have split himself in half.
Fortunately, Xie Weihan wasn’t in the office. Otherwise, he really wouldn’t know what kind of attitude to adopt when facing him. Just a moment ago, Xie Weihan had said he “thought they weren’t on those ‘polite’ terms anymore.” Shen Luyang rubbed his face. Then what terms are we on?
Friends… friends with… benefits?
Holy crap.
He literally jumped in place, loathing his own less-than-noble character.
What are you thinking?
Dream… on.

By the time he returned to the office, the eighth period had already begun. Shen Luyang only then realized he had been in the Arts Building for two full class periods. It felt like he had only been out for a moment.
Truly, the saying held true: Time flies when you’re having fun.
When he pushed open the door, only Zong Weiqing, the homeroom teacher, was inside grading papers. Although they were the Science Department group, Zong Weiqing, as a Chinese teacher, had moved in voluntarily to facilitate communication with the science teachers.
Seeing him, she asked, “How are Teacher Shi and Teacher Xie doing?”
Thinking of the explanation he had agreed upon with Xie Weihan, Shen Luyang kept a straight face. “Teacher Shi was sent to the hospital. Teacher Xie took some medicine and is doing fine now.”
Zong Weiqing sighed in relief. “That’s good.”
It wasn’t every day an S-class Alpha completely lost control; it was normal that she hadn’t anticipated the severity.
Before sitting down, Shen Luyang instinctively glanced at the seat behind him. It remained pristine and tidy.
Tonight’s self-study session was scheduled for Chemistry and Biology. Since the Chemistry teacher, Shi Fan, was in the hospital, Shen Luyang recalled his promise to the students of Class 21 and volunteered to cover the shift.
The Biology teacher was Jiang Nuanyu, a rare female Alpha. Having heard that Shen Luyang had heroically assisted two Alphas today, she even brought him a cup of milk tea on her way back from the cafeteria.
Whether by coincidence or not, she had brought him hot cocoa.
Shen Luyang was quite satisfied with the scent of his own pheromones. In his past life, his favorite milk tea had been the “Cocoa Grand Slam.” He didn’t care much for eating chocolate, but he loved chocolate-flavored milk tea.
The System mentioned that his differentiation was partly influenced by this preference. Shen Luyang felt a surge of pity for those whose pheromones smelled like snail rice noodles or stinky tofu.
[On average, only one in ten thousand people has a pheromone scent like that. While it might seem hard to accept normally, once you lose control during the ‘deed,’ it’s all the same.]
Shen Luyang: No. If my future girlfriend has cake-scented pheromones, I’ll end up getting hungry mid-act.
[I’d bet a lightning strike that you’ll just end up ‘drunk’ mid-act, Luyang.]
…
The students who came for the Q&A were Yun Han and two female classmates. Shen Luyang had organized his thoughts before they arrived and even prepared several similar problems. Now, while bantering with the System, he watched them work through the exercises.
One of the girls, who had a mushroom cut and a doll-like face, finished first. When she leaned in, Shen Luyang could clearly determine that she was a Beta. It felt novel, like he had mastered a new skill.
[This is just the most basic ability Alphas evolved for finding Omegas to mate with. You’ll master many other things later.]
“You got it right.” Shen Luyang drew a little red flower on her practice book.
The girl’s name was Zhan Jingmiao. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the flower. “Teacher! You even know how to draw these! It’s so cute!”
Shen Luyang suddenly remembered what Xie Weihan had said to him yesterday. He took a sip of hot water with a sage-like air. “Student Zhan.”
Zhan Jingmiao raised her hand. “Present.”
Shen Luyang set down his cup mysteriously. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re exceptionally terrible at flattery?”
Zhan Jingmiao froze for a second, then burst into her trademark “goose-like” laughter. Sensing their rapport was established, she leaned in closer. “Teacher Shen, let me tell you something.”
Shen Luyang leaned back against his chair and matched her lowered voice. “What is it?”
“That T-shirt of yours with the tiger head,” Zhan Jingmiao said with a sincere expression. “I hope you never wear it again.”
Shen Luyang replied with a heavy face, “I won’t.”
“Also…” She glanced over at Yun Han and the other student. Seeing them focused on their work, she frowned and lowered her voice even further. “Recently… be a bit careful on your way to and from work.”
Shen Luyang blinked. “Hmm?”
Fearing he didn’t understand, Zhan Jingmiao took a deep breath, gathered her courage, and added: “I don’t mean traffic safety. The security around here isn’t great lately.”
With that, Shen Luyang understood. There were likely some troublemakers who weren’t happy about him gaining the support of some students today and wanted to “teach him a lesson.”
If it had been the old Shen Luyang, he might have grilled Zhan Jingmiao to find out exactly who it was and then reported it to the Dean. But this Shen Luyang didn’t. He simply said, “Thanks, you stay safe too,” and changed the subject.
Whether she was warning him because she truly accepted him as her teacher or because she was worried the students would cause a major disaster didn’t matter. In either case, “thank you” was the only necessary response.
He wasn’t the original “Shen Luyang.” To be honest, compared to him in his younger days, these kids were practically saints. A “lesson” of this level didn’t require much of his concern.
Zhan Jingmiao breathed a sigh of relief and gave him a thumbs-up. “Teacher Shen, just stay like this. You’re really cool right now!”
“Impossible,” Shen Luyang denied solemnly while grading papers. “I will only get cooler with each passing day.”
******
After work, Shen Luyang took a taxi and headed to a 24-hour supermarket to buy several bags of snacks. It was nearly 10:00 PM by the time he got home. After a shower, he realized with embarrassment that he’d forgotten to buy actual groceries, so he had to order takeout again.
At 9:00 AM that morning, his mother had transferred the 100,000 yuan. Looking at his bank balance, Shen Luyang smiled like a fool for a long time. In his past life, his balance had never seen five digits. Suddenly being wealthy, he hoped he could be forgiven for ordering an incredibly expensive meal.
He took out the physics workbook he needed to prepare and worked for a while. When the food arrived, he ate while he wrote.
“It seems the life of a rich person is also just working,” Shen Luyang remarked, rubbing his aching neck.
[Teacher Xie is working too. Does thinking about that make you feel more balanced?]
Since no one else was home, Shen Luyang spoke to the System out loud. “True. Teacher Xie is so rich; why is he still working?”
[A rich person’s life is too dull. He’s just looking for some fun~ Besides, high school courses are like child’s play to him. It’s easy work and he gets to see the ‘flowers of the nation’ every day to illuminate the inner psychopath within his heart.]
Shen Luyang, who found the work anything but “child’s play,” ignored the last sentence and felt a wave of envy. “Once I finish the mission, I’m going to teach at the elementary school next door.”
As he wrote, the night unintentionally slipped into the early hours of the morning. Having pulled an all-nighter yesterday and not slept at all during the day, combined with the loss of “vital energy”, his vision began to blur over the last two problems.
[Go to sleep, Luyang. Tomorrow is Thursday. Your class is in the third period, but Teacher Xie’s open lecture is in the second. You can go early and ask him then.]
At the mention of Xie Weihan’s name, Shen Luyang jolted. “What open lecture?” Does this run-down high school actually have such fancy things?
[Teacher Xie went to the multimedia classroom today to prepare for it. Shi Fan only ran into him because he was hiding from a scumbag there.]
“What scumbag?” Shen Luyang felt like a failing student who had missed key points by daydreaming. Fortunately, his “Teacher System” was patient and helped him review.
[The original partner of Shi Fan in Mourning Love, the scumbag in the ‘wife-chasing crematorium’ arc: Duan Chen. He comes from a powerful background and is at Lanjiang Fifth High School for reasons similar to yours. He caused trouble at home and was sent here to reflect.]
Shen Luyang tsked. “Evil rich people. Do they think the school is a trash can?”
[That’s just the book’s setting. If you want to complain, you’ll have to ask the author why they wrote such a moronic setup.]
Shen Luyang checked the time. It was 1:00 AM.
The Science Department had a WeChat group. He clicked into it and found Xie Weihan, only to realize he didn’t actually have the man added as a friend.
It was a bit awkward. Shen Luyang scratched his head. Given the relationship they just had, how could he send a friend request without appearing indecent?
After deliberating for three minutes, he clicked “Add Friend” and typed out a line.
Request Reason: I’m Shen Luyang. Teacher Xie, I don’t know how to do these two problems. They’re too hard, they’re really, truly too hard!
[…]
[Luyang, you really are something else.]
Predictably, he received no reply. At this hour, most teachers were likely asleep, considering they had to sign in early the next day. Shen Luyang washed his face and climbed into bed. Thinking about Zhan Jingmiao’s words, he still felt like laughing.
The previous “Shen Luyang” was certainly impressive to have left him such a massive mess. To dare to beat up a teacher and not for the first time, apparently.
He closed his eyes and let out a moderate yawn.
Appealing to their morals doesn’t seem to be working. I’ll have to try something else…
