Following a sudden car accident, Shen Luyang finds himself transmigrated into a Danmei novel he once read, with a mysterious system now lodged in his mind.
The system issues a dire warning that his mission is to save the protagonist and help him escape the lead’s clutches so he can flourish on his own. It cautions him that failure will result in being struck by lightning. Shen Luyang clutches his heart in shock at the absurdity of the situation.
The novel, titled Mourning Love Plus, features a setting with twisted morals and an ABO world. The primary antagonist is a high school teacher who is a prestigious S-class Alpha with immense wealth and endless free time. This man is cold-blooded and volatile, possessing peak combat skills and a terrifyingly unstable psyche. Despite his villainous nature, he is the only teacher capable of controlling the students, and every class he instructs sees a dramatic rise in academic performance. In short, while he is a brilliant educator, he is a scoundrel who deserves a swift end.
The original protagonist is a newly graduated teacher assigned to the same high school. Unfortunately, he catches the antagonist’s eye, leading to a harrowing tale of forced obsession and physical and emotional abuse. As an Alpha himself, the protagonist resists until the bitter end, ultimately resulting in a life of misery.
Shen Luyang has taken over the role of a cannon-fodder character with the same name. In the original story, this character is killed in the third chapter when the antagonist runs him over with a car after he accidentally witnesses a threat being made. The exact moment Shen Luyang enters the story is when he pushes open the office door to find that very scene unfolding.
The system announces the start of the mission and reminds him that any failure will lead to a bolt of lightning from the heavens. Terrified, Shen Luyang reaches out a desperate hand toward the man in the room and begs for him to wait.
