The first time Shen Xiaojiang saw Chen Yi was at her best friend’s birthday party.
She wore a dark green halter neck dress, an entire back covered in an iris tattoo. Her fingers were slender like white jade, and her eyes were lazy, like a cat’s.
Her narrow phoenix eyes shimmered with light, the smoke from the cigarette between her fingers carried a sense of decadent haze. Standing there, she was someone you’d remember for a lifetime with a single glance.
“I don’t like anyone younger than me,” Chen Yi told a suitor.
“A wise person doesn’t fall in love, and getting rich is a must that’s exactly the kind of person my aunt is,” her best friend said, pointing at Chen Yi, then turning to Shen Xiaojiang.
Shen Xiaojiang was silent.
Later, a senior’s birthday bash was held at the largest bar in Southern City. The proprietress stood with her back to the crowd, wearing a dark green qipao (cheongsam), looking completely out of place in the bar.
Her demeanor was elegant, her figure graceful, bearing a slight resemblance to Chen Yi.
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t dare go up to greet her.
It was rumored that the proprietress had a unique skill: mixing a sky high-priced cocktail called “Love Potion.” Those who drank it, without exception, fell into sweet love.
At midnight, the senior made a wish, hoping the “Cheongsam Goddess” proprietress would condescend to mix a glass of “Love Potion.”
No one in the private booth believed that this ice-cold beauty would ever stoop so low.
After midnight, the senior cut the cake. Shen Xiaojiang smiled and casually remarked, “Love Potion? I’m quite looking forward to it.”
Unexpectedly, the proprietress truly brought the cocktail she personally mixed to the booth. Drowsy, Shen Xiaojiang spat a mouthful of soda all over the senior.
“You should wipe yourself too, your clothes are wet.” That was the first thing Chen Yi said to Shen Xiaojiang that night.
The senior was stunned for a long time before asking, “H-how much is it?”
Chen Yi smoothed down her hair, gave a captivating backward glance, looked at the dumbfounded Shen Xiaojiang, and smiled seductively, “Considering we’re acquaintances, it’s free.”
After the party dispersed, Chen Yi pinned Shen Xiaojiang against the bathroom door. Two buttons on her qipao were undone, her eyes were hazy, and her voice was seductive/intimate: “Little sprout, you stared at me all night last time, why didn’t you follow up?”
