After Flirting with the God-Tier Beautiful Tycoon - Chapter 8
Standing on the high ceremonial stage, Chen Yi’s every move was filled with grace and charm.
She was wearing a white casual suit paired with a black cheongsam underneath.
The wind blew her temple hair, and she naturally raised her hand to tuck the strands behind her ear.
This simple movement exuded a sense of languor and casualness.
Then, she and the principal stood in front of the camera, holding the honor plaque and smiling.
Shen Xiaojiang gazed intently at the woman on the stage.
The cheongsam was embroidered with subtle patterns in silver thread, and the edges of the high-slit hem were traced with the same silver thread, making it very delicate and grand.
Just like at the birthday party yesterday, the white suit jacket had its cuffs rolled up twice, revealing a striped lining.
A white jade bangle adorned the exposed section of her wrist.
Shen Xiaojiang’s gaze landed on Chen Yi’s hands.
They were very white and clean, and looked soft.
Faint, intertwined blue veins were visible.
Truly beautiful.
Shen Xiaojiang was at a loss for words.
Chen Yi’s very existence was a subversion of all adjectives.
Due to her height, Shen Xiaojiang was quite noticeable in the crowd.
In no time, Chen Yi spotted her.
At the moment their eyes met, Chen Yi’s expression remained unchanged.
Shen Xiaojiang was the opposite; her inner world was completely laid bare on her face.
Quickly, she glanced away, pretending to talk to Sun Jiabao about something.
Chen Yi’s thin eyelids trembled slightly, and she also averted her gaze, no longer looking at her.
“OMG, isn’t that my aunt!” Sun Jiabao excitedly linked arms with Shen Xiaojiang. “So, the donor for our school’s library is her!”
Chen Xingnan and Liu Wei also leaned in. “What, what? That beauty is your relative?”
Sun Jiabao pouted, feigning pride. “Exactly! My beauty, young lady, has a history of family inheritance, okay!”
“Family looks also have high- and low-tier configurations,” Chen Xingnan chuckled. “Jiabao, you’re the low-tier.”
“Chen Xingnan, you jerk! Can you even talk properly!” Sun Jiabao raised her comb, ready to strike.
Chen Xingnan immediately made a gesture of surrender.
“But seriously, building this library must cost a lot of money. What’s your aunt’s background?” Liu Wei asked.
The sound of their conversation was not loud, but it attracted many onlookers.
Everyone was very interested in this beautiful, spirited, and alluring woman.
“My aunt is the boss of Venus!” Sun Jiabao said with pride.
“Venus… hell, Venus!” Chen Xingnan exclaimed. “You don’t mean the biggest bar in Nancheng?”
Sun Jiabao nodded while combing her bangs.
“Holy cow, a money pit! Then your aunt is indeed rich.”
“I heard they have restrictions for students there. I haven’t been yet.”
“What restrictions?”
“You have to show your ID at the door. Under eighteen isn’t allowed, and those over eighteen aren’t allowed in after ten o’clock. High-proof alcohol isn’t sold to students.”
“Is that so? Honor among thieves.”
Someone said this, and Sun Jiabao’s face immediately darkened. “What ‘honor among thieves’? Why does that sound so grating?”
The one who said “honor among thieves” was a short boy wearing thick black rimmed glasses. When confronted by Sun Jiabao, he pursed his lips and spoke even more offensively. “Why is it grating? Seriously, I’m speechless. A bar is not a respectable place. My mom said that people who go to bars are not decent, let alone bar owners, who are mostly triad members.”
“I’m the one who’s speechless. Are you living in ancient times? Hasn’t your home connected to the internet yet…”
The chattering drowned out Chen Yi’s voice.
“Hey, hey,” Shen Xiaojiang turned around and gave them a look. “Too noisy.”
Turning back, Chen Yi was smiling, her lips pressed together.
Perhaps it was a misconception, but Shen Xiaojiang felt that Chen Yi’s smile held a hint more warmth and human touch.
Sun Jiabao always listened to Shen Xiaojiang and obediently shut her mouth.
After the ceremony, Chen Yi and the principals withdrew from the public eye.
The circle of students also scattered like birds.
Shen Xiaojiang called out to the boy from earlier. “Hey, classmate.”
The boy turned around, looking confused.
“Let’s chat,” Shen Xiaojiang said calmly.
“Wh-what do you want?” The boy felt a little guilty, looking at the four girls with fierce expressions.
“Classmate,” Shen Xiaojiang crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes slightly. “You just said a bar is not a respectable place?”
The boy stammered. “Di-did I say that?”
“Hmph!” Sun Jiabao rolled her eyes at him.
“If you’re a maggot yourself, do you think the world is a big cesspool?”
Shen Xiaojiang said this while moving closer to the boy. “Whether a bar is respectable has absolutely nothing to do with the bar itself or its operator!”
The boy backed up, hitting the camphor tree behind him. “I’m used to being straightforward.”
“I know,” Shen Xiaojiang sighed, feigning regret. “But you can’t just relieve yourself with your mouth, can you?”
The insult was not physically harmful but extremely humiliating.
The boy, feeling shamed and angered, raised his voice. “Are you guys crazy? Campus bullying?”
If Shen Xiaojiang moved any closer, he probably would have shouted for help.
“Which eye saw me bullying you?” Shen Xiaojiang sneered, snatching his glasses off. “If the prescription is wrong, get a new pair. Otherwise, people might think you’re blind.”
After saying this, Shen Xiaojiang placed the glasses back on the boy’s nose bridge and said clearly, word by word, “Next time you speak, use your brain first. Don’t carry a head just for height, especially since it hasn’t added much.”
“Exactly!” The others chimed in.
The boy lowered his head, not daring to say anything more.
Sitting in the nearby car, Chen Yi subconsciously lifted the corner of her mouth when she heard this.
“Qi Ye, you didn’t actually have to come today. You even postponed the sales meeting,” He Zhong said.
The library donation project was just a formality, a show for Old Master Bai. Chen Yi could have come or not, and could have easily sent someone to attend on her behalf.
It was the first time she had postponed an important meeting for something like this.
Shen Xiaojiang was nestled in the center, smiling with her mouth wide open at something the person next to her said.
Chen Yi’s gaze lingered on her. After a long moment, she murmured softly, “I had to come.”
He Zhong still didn’t understand.
“Qi Ye, they’ve gone far. Should we follow them?” he asked.
“Mhm.” Chen Yi rested her chin on her hand, her voice cold, but her eyes filled with a burning heat.
“Shenjiang, what’s with you today? It’s the first time I’ve seen you this cool. I love you.” Sun Jiabao said another expressionless declaration of love.
Shen Xiaojiang pouted. “I just can’t stand those idiots with their biased views.”
“Exactly. If it weren’t for them, the world would be so much more harmonious,” Chen Xingnan added.
“I second that,” Liu Wei raised her hand in agreement.
When they reached the end of the tree lined path, Chen Xingnan and Liu Wei left first.
“Which cafeteria should we favor today?” Sun Jiabao looped her arm through Shen Xiaojiang’s, tilting her head to ask for her opinion.
Shen Xiaojiang: “Whatever.”
Sun Jiabao: “Rice or noodles?”
Shen Xiaojiang said indifferently, “Either is fine.”
What they ate wasn’t important, just filling their stomachs was enough.
Where will Chen Yi eat? Shen Xiaojiang thought. Will the school cafeteria food not suit her taste?
Sigh! She shook her head.
Chen Yi came to donate to the school library, which was like investing in the project. The school leaders would definitely treat her lavishly she didn’t need to worry about it.
A strange sense of loss attacked from all sides, leaving a void in Shen Xiaojiang’s heart.
Sun Jiabao was unhappy again, puffing up. “Shenjiang, you…”
Before she could finish her sentence, a car horn sounded behind them.
He Zhong applied a slight pressure, ensuring the sound wouldn’t startle anyone.
Sun Jiabao was about to swear.
Then she saw Chen Yi roll down the window and beckon to her with her finger.
She trotted over obediently. “Aunt! You’re driving a city center apartment on the road that’s too extravagant!”
Chen Yi smiled. “Have you eaten?”
Sun Jiabao shook her head very vigorously.
“Get in the car, and bring your best friend,” Chen Yi’s smile never changed, like a mask welded to her face.
Sun Jiabao raised an eyebrow. “Rich lady, are you treating us?”
Chen Yi smiled without speaking.
“Shenjiang, let’s go! We’re eating something good!” Sun Jiabao said, immediately pulling open the car door.
“I…” Shen Xiaojiang opened her mouth.
Sun Jiabao urged her, “Oh, why ‘I’? This is my aunt you just met her yesterday.”
Shen Xiaojiang froze for a few seconds.
She recalled last night, the dark green halter dress, the mysterious flower tattoo, and the cool fingertip that had traced her cheek.
Chen Yi’s gaze lightly swept over Shen Xiaojiang’s face.
Then, she withdrew her sight and looked at the dark blue umbrella by her feet.
The next second, she moved her Hermès bag, covering the umbrella.
Some people who were initially walking quickly deliberately slowed down as they approached the Rolls Royce.
“Look, look! A luxury car!”
“It looks like a Rolls Royce!”
“We have such a big shot in our school?”
“Holy crap, is the person getting in last the Campus Belle?”
“Don’t even say it, it really is Shen Xiaojiang!”
“She usually dresses so plainly; she doesn’t seem like a rich person.”
“My goodness, could she be someone’s mistress?”
For some reason, Chen Yi didn’t want to hear those words and quickly rolled up the car window.
“Aunt, what are we eating?” Sun Jiabao turned her head.
Chen Yi was still smiling warmly. After a casual glance at her niece, she turned to stare at Shen Xiaojiang’s profile, with three parts doubt and seven parts flirtation. “Is there anything you want to eat?”
