After Falling for the Handsome CEO - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: More and More Not Right
The familiar voice stunned Shen Jin, and that familiar embrace made his entire body go rigid. He slowly opened his eyes, squinting in uncertainty.
Yan Yu was amused by his reaction. He couldn’t help but reach out and flick the boy’s forehead, arching an eyebrow teasingly. “What? Don’t tell me you’ve mistaken me for someone else.”
Shen Jin stared at him blankly, blinking several times, unable to utter a single word.
Everyone else in the room was equally stunned.
Finally, it was a nurse who broke the silence. “President Yan…”
“Mm.” Yan Yu gave a cold, indifferent response. He gestured casually toward Li Zhen, who was now being pinned down by security guards. “Take him out. Calculate the cost of everything broken here—make him pay double.”
The staff nodded quickly. “Yes, President Yan.”
Li Zhen was in a daze. His brain had short-circuited so hard he had momentarily forgotten who “President Yan” was in everyone’s mouth; he only knew that this man had just laid a hand on him, making him lose face.
“Who the hell are you?! What do you have to do with him!” Li Zhen roared, raising a foot to kick Yan Yu with all his might—
Yan Yu narrowed his eyes. He didn’t even move, simply watching this suicidal fool with a look of amusement.
Just as Li Zhen thought his kick would connect, a security guard delivered a brutal kick to his side, grabbed him by the collar, and slammed a fist into his face!
Before he could even fight back, the guards made quick work of him, beating him until he was practically swollen into a ball.
Only then did it sink in that the “President Yan” they were talking about was that one. Every hair on Li Zhen’s body stood on end. It was unbelievable—how did these two paupers know Yan Yu?
It was impossible!
“He’s an eyesore. Take him away,” Yan Yu said coldly, not sparing him another glance. Instead, he looked at the bewildered Shen Jin with interest.
Suddenly, Yan Yu thought he looked a bit like a cat—well-behaved and making one want to pamper him.
Shen Lian recovered faster than her brother, expressing her gratitude fervently. “Thank… thank you, President Yan!”
Though she couldn’t fathom how her brother knew a dangerous figure like Yan Yu, the man was clearly helping them. Plus, he was incredibly handsome!
He looks so good standing next to my brother!
This thought made Shen Lian feel awkward. She felt her mind had been led astray by that idiot Li Zhen—how could she be thinking about such things?
The so-called “elite world” was not easy to enter. Even if one fought through all the obstacles, they might still end up bleeding out in an unexpected moment…
As her thoughts drifted, Yan Yu glanced at her and said succinctly, “I’ll take him to get looked at.”
In a trance, Shen Jin allowed himself to be led away without resistance. After a few stumbling steps, his footing steadied. He kept his eyes lowered, staring at their joined hands as they walked through the hospital corridors.
A strange feeling bubbled up in his heart. This man’s hand was so warm; holding it gave him a profound sense of security…
In the orphanage, as Shen Lian’s older brother, Shen Jin always had to think of her, take care of her, and provide her with security. He tried his best to be a perfect role model.
Because of this, he could never easily show his sadness, fear, or anxiety. Even when things were so oppressive that he wanted to cry, he would only hide in a dark corner of his room alone so no one would find out.
He knew he was a child abandoned by his parents, a child raised in an orphanage; he wasn’t supposed to have many expectations.
“What are you thinking about?” Yan Yu looked back, wondering why the boy was staring at his hand.
Caught off guard by the question, Shen Jin blurted out without thinking, “Your hand… it’s so warm.”
Yan Yu froze for a second, then let out a soft chuckle. For some reason, he wanted to reach out and ruffle the boy’s hair. It was just as soft as he imagined, brushing against his palm like feathers.
Shen Jin’s ears turned red at the gesture. He didn’t dare look the man in the eye, so he just lowered his head woodenly.
Yan Yu led him into an empty infirmary, sat him down on a stool, and began rummaging through cabinets for medicine.
When he lifted Shen Jin’s hand, he frowned slightly. He remembered how fair and beautiful these hands were when they were gripping his back last night; now they were red and swollen.
“Does it hurt?” He looked up at Shen Jin. His deep, dark eyes were like a landscape ink painting, containing a world of scenery that made it easy for one to lose themselves.
Shen Jin lowered his eyes and whispered, “It hurts…”
Yan Yu felt that this youth—who looked to be in his early twenties—was so obedient it made him want to ravage him, to bully him until he could do nothing but sob in tremulous gasps.
Instead, he leaned down and blew gently on the swollen hand. “I’ll blow on it for you then,” he teased.
Shen Jin’s ears grew even redder. He buried his head lower, but a glimmer of a smile—and a tiny bit of sweetness—flashed in his clear eyes.
Yan Yu is so gentle…
After a few teases, Yan Yu stopped playing around. He used medicinal water to gently clean the injury and applied a cooling ointment.
Shen Jin felt very strange. Yan Yu was just applying medicine, yet he didn’t feel a bit of pain. He only felt the man’s fingers sliding over his skin—a numbing, itchy sensation…
To stop his mind from wandering, he tried to change the subject. “Why… why are you here?” he asked quietly.
He had thought that after last night, the two of them might never meet again.
“Hmm?” Yan Yu’s hand paused as he applied the medicine. A complicated look flickered in his eyes. His voice dropped an octave. “I came to visit someone.”
Shen Jin was curious about who he was visiting but was too shy to ask. Instead, he said, “Thank you for today…”
“It’s nothing. Something like this happening in the hospital is our responsibility. Fortunately, no harm came to the patient.” Yan Yu smiled faintly, his fingers continuing to caress the boy’s hand.
Shen Jin watched those well-defined fingers gently applying the ointment. The rhythmic motion made him feel as if those hands were caressing his entire body again—everywhere, and so gently…
…Mgh, I want to be touched by Yan Yu…
Shen Jin felt like something was becoming “not right.” His cheeks were burning, and his heart was hammering against his ribs.
By now, Yan Yu had finished. He stood up slowly and ran a hand through the boy’s hair. “There. Let’s go out.”
“Mm,” Shen Jin didn’t dare look up or even stand. He just sat there with a red face, stammering, “I…”
“Hmm?”
Yan Yu paused, his eyes narrowing as his smile deepened. He hooked the corner of his lip playfully and leaned down to Shen Jin’s reddened ear. He blew a puff of warm air into it and whispered, “Baby… why are you… acting so strange?”
