After Falling for the Handsome CEO - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Sharing the Same Bed
At first, Shen Jin didn’t understand what Yan Yu meant, but after a long moment, his “wooden” head finally processed the reality. Yan Yu was making one thing very clear:
Theirs was strictly a relationship of money and desire. Beyond that, there was nothing.
There was no point in mentioning so-called “feelings.” As for that obscure, aching emotion in his own heart, perhaps it was just a temporary illusion. After all, they belonged to two different worlds; he shouldn’t indulge in such fantasies.
He forced a smile and pushed Yan Yu away. The expression he managed was more painful to look at than crying. “You don’t have to do this… you really don’t.”
In the beginning, it was out of desperation, but if they continued like this, what would it become? Shen Jin didn’t dare think about it. He felt that what had already happened was probably enough.
Being pushed away took Yan Yu by surprise. He narrowed his eyes and stared at Shen Jin for a long while before asking indifferently, “Don’t you need the money?”
Shen Jin looked up at him blankly, unable to say a word.
Yan Yu continued, “I heard about your sister’s situation from the doctor. You need money for her treatment. That 100,000 yuan is just the beginning; you still need to save more. In such a short time, where else are you going to find that kind of money?”
Looking at Shen Jin’s complicated expression, Yan Yu let out a soft laugh. “Right now, being my bed partner in exchange for money—isn’t that a good deal?”
Yan Yu thought to himself that having someone available to release his desires whenever he wanted was quite nice. He liked the “taste” of this man; Shen Jin wasn’t high-maintenance, and he was very convenient to use.
Shen Jin bit his lip, his smile looking strained. Regardless of whether he intended to refuse, there was one question he couldn’t wrap his head around. He asked in a hoarse voice, “But… why does it have to be me?”
Yan Yu spoke with blunt honesty: “Because sleeping with you feels damn good.”
Shen Jin didn’t know how to react. He stared blankly, a bitterness rising in his heart. For a fleeting second, he wanted to ask if there was anything else besides it “feeling good.”
But remembering his own status, he decided not to humiliate himself by looking for an answer that wasn’t there.
If… it’s just a relationship of money and bodies, maybe that’s fine… I need the money, and Shen Lian has to be okay… This is just a transaction.
When the day came that Yan Yu grew tired of him, the deal would end. They would return to their separate parallel lines, living different lives, never to intersect again.
Shen Jin’s throat tightened. It took a visible effort to force the words out: “Fine, I… I agree.”
It had already happened once, and it was with the same person anyway…
And this person, he actually…
Shen Jin bit his lip and shook his head violently, tossing those messy thoughts aside. He slowly closed his eyes and let out a soft breath.
Yan Yu narrowed his eyes. He couldn’t quite fathom what Shen Jin was thinking. He felt a flicker of annoyance that the man had agreed so easily, yet a tiny spark of happiness simultaneously ignited within him. He couldn’t explain it.
I’m probably going to end up with a split personality at this rate, Yan Yu grumbled inwardly. He reached out, grabbed Shen Jin by the waist, and lifted him up. He carried him to the bed, set him down, and leaned over him.
“Wait—” Shen Jin’s face went pale. He was still in significant pain and truly couldn’t handle anything physical. Under Yan Yu’s gaze, he stammered an explanation, “Not today… it hurts.”
Yan Yu didn’t say anything. After staring at him for a moment, he simply pulled Shen Jin tightly into his arms, pulled the quilt over them both, and turned off the lights.
The room fell into pitch darkness. Shen Jin could only feel the warmth radiating from Yan Yu’s body. His entire frame was stiff with shock. “You…”
Before he could finish, Yan Yu seemed to know what he was going to ask. He replied tonelessly, “It’s raining. I can’t go back, so I’m staying the night.”
He sounded so casual, so indifferent, yet Shen Jin’s heart began to race uncontrollably. A flush crept up his ears.
He felt a tiny surge of joy.
It had been a long time since he had shared a bed with someone, and even longer since he had known the feeling of being held while sleeping. How could he remain calm?
Yan Yu’s embrace was warm and full of a sense of security. Subconsciously, Shen Jin snuggled closer into his chest, a faint smile touching his lips.
He thought: With a Yan Yu like this, what’s the harm in liking him?
Before he knew it, Shen Jin drifted off to sleep.
In the dark, Yan Yu’s eyes remained open. He watched Shen Jin sleep. After a while, he reached out and gently traced Shen Jin’s slightly red lips. The man let out a soft, subconscious moan.
Yan Yu quickly pulled his hand back. It was a strange feeling; he couldn’t figure it out. Why could this person sleep so soundly in his arms?
Moreover, he didn’t hate the sensation. On the contrary, holding this soft, fragrant body felt incredibly comfortable. There was no heavy scent of perfume—only the faint, pleasant aroma of body wash.
Shen Jin woke up at 6:00 AM. When he saw Yan Yu beside him, his face instinctively heated up. Seeing no sign of him waking, he couldn’t resist leaning in to press a kiss as light as a dragonfly’s touch onto Yan Yu’s cheek.
He felt truly happy.
With burning ears, he hurried out of bed, changed his clothes, and rushed to the kitchen to cook. He moved with extreme care, terrified that any noise would wake Yan Yu.
As he worked, Shen Jin whispered to himself, “If I finish the food, will he eat with me later?”
Yan Yu usually woke up around 9:00 AM. But today, perhaps because the bed was too hard or he hadn’t slept well, he woke up around 8:00 AM.
He instinctively reached out to the side of the bed, but his hands met only empty space. He glanced at the empty spot, feeling a bit puzzled. “Up so early?”
When Yan Yu walked out of the room yawning, he caught sight of Shen Jin’s back as he busied himself in the kitchen. He didn’t make a sound to disturb him. Instead, he leaned lazily against the doorframe, watching.
The window was open, letting in fragments of sunlight that cast dappled shadows over Shen Jin. The light made him look exceptionally warm. His focused attitude and subtle movements… there was an indescribable beauty to it.
Perhaps because he had spent too much time in a world of vanity and debauchery, seeing something so pure caused Yan Yu to daze for a moment. A faint, genuine smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
Shen Jin was so happy at the thought of Yan Yu potentially eating with him that he couldn’t stop smiling like a fool.
Suddenly, a pair of hands slid around his waist. Yan Yu hugged him from behind, resting his chin on Shen Jin’s shoulder. He pressed an intimate kiss to Shen Jin’s ear and whispered softly, “Who are you cooking for? You’re smiling so happily.”
