After Entering A Marriage of Convenience With My Omega Rival - Chapter 12
Chapter 12
She bit down hard on Sheng Ruxi’s earlobe.
Sheng Ruxi pried Jian Jixing’s fingers away, forcing her to let go inch by inch.
“You’re a good actor yourself—the call ended, yet you wouldn’t let go,” Sheng Ruxi said, looking at her. “If I didn’t know you were also pursuing Wuwu, I’d be worried you’d actually fallen for me.”
Jian Jixing: “…” When it came to having a poisonous tongue, they were evenly matched.
Seeing that Jian Jixing released her immediately, Sheng Ruxi took the chance to retreat, though her gaze remained fixed on the other woman.
She knew Jian Jixing couldn’t stand that kind of talk. So what if she suggested Jian Jixing liked her? Was such a big reaction necessary?
Even in the early morning, Sheng Ruxi carried a faint fragrance. Her slightly reddened ears made her look like a delicate Juliet rose.
Noble and elegant.
As she stood up, she habitually tilted her chin slightly, maintaining her perfect poise as always.
Jian Jixing was different.
She leaned back against the sofa, lifting her eyelids to sweep a glance over Sheng Ruxi, and gave a dry laugh. “Discarding me the moment the show is over? Weren’t we quite the loving couple just a second ago?”
Jian Jixing had always known Sheng Ruxi was a talented actress, but she hadn’t realized she could deceive her elders so effortlessly.
Madam Yan likely truly believed they were making progress; otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken the opportunity to invite them home.
“Thank you for praising my acting,” Sheng Ruxi said.
Heaven knows, that wasn’t what Jian Jixing meant.
But she didn’t argue. “Have Zhou Mei send me a copy of your schedule, okay?”
Her tone was strictly professional, which displeased Sheng Ruxi. “What for? Did you actually take my lies seriously? Are you going to chase me to my next event too?”
“Don’t overthink it,” Jian Jixing said. “You painted me as being so clingy in front of Mom. If we go home and she asks, and finds out I don’t even know your itinerary, wouldn’t the cat be out of the bag?”
Sheng Ruxi huffed, “Fine. Though I doubt Mom hasn’t realized I was lying.”
Jian Jixing chuckled. “But she wants to believe you.”
“Since you can play your part so well in front of Mom, does that mean you’ll do whatever I say?”
Jian Jixing raised an eyebrow, looking intrigued. “What else do you need me to cooperate with?”
“You might not be able to handle what I want.” Sheng Ruxi smiled. “If we’re going to commit to the act, we’re still missing a few pieces.”
They had already shared a bed; what could possibly be missing? Jian Jixing thought for a moment, and then it clicked.
A kiss.
Since this wasn’t something she could decide alone, Jian Jixing said:
“Let’s see how far you can go.”
The competition was real.
They weren’t going home until next Wednesday, yet she wanted to start rehearsing already?
Sheng Ruxi felt Jian Jixing was provoking her, and she didn’t want to let her have the satisfaction.
It was just acting. How hard could it be? Portraying a deeply in-love couple was a mandatory skill for Sheng Ruxi.
She rarely did kiss scenes, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t do romance. There was a formula for it; she just had to apply it to Jian Jixing.
No one could resist her charm—even someone like Jian Jixing, who disliked her, had to admit that objective reality.
She could see it in the way Jian Jixing’s eyes never left her since she started moving.
Sheng Ruxi enjoyed this kind of focused appreciation. She had lived her life this way since childhood, and she would continue to be just as proud.
“How far I can go depends on how long you can hold out.” She didn’t put on slippers, walking barefoot toward Jian Jixing.
When she reached out, Jian Jixing didn’t dodge.
She touched Jian Jixing’s thin bathrobe—cotton, dark-colored, the same material as the one from last night.
Sheng Ruxi’s mind flickered; last night, Jian Jixing had already been at the hotel before coming out to pick her up.
“Last night, if it hadn’t been for Mom’s request, you definitely wouldn’t have come.” Sheng Ruxi pinched Jian Jixing’s collar, giving it a soft tug. “Director Jian acted quite well back then; I actually thought you came specifically for me.”
Jian Jixing found it amusing. “Who do you think has the power to command me?”
That was true.
Jian Jixing’s rebellious nature was common knowledge. Her family originally disapproved of her becoming a director. After entering the industry, she focused on niche subjects, mixing documentaries with arthouse films. Sometimes they were so “stream-of-consciousness” that even Sheng Ruxi, who had watched them, couldn’t understand them.
She didn’t understand Jian Jixing’s inner world, which was why Sheng Ruxi never imagined she would one day be Jian Jixing’s leading lady.
Although Jian Jixing was famously easy to get along with, no one dared to truly make her angry. At the Golden Phoenix Awards, only Sheng Ruxi had dared to snap at her like that.
The command had undoubtedly come from Madam Yan, but Jian Jixing had personally chosen the umbrella—the one that suited Sheng Ruxi best.
Given Sheng Ruxi’s style, even a plain umbrella had to be dignified, elegant, and finely crafted to be worthy of her.
“True.” Sheng Ruxi realized she was being persuaded too easily, so she added, “Sweet talker.”
“Then what should I say?” Jian Jixing asked humbly.
Sheng Ruxi countered, “I’m too lazy to explain it to you. You wouldn’t understand, and you’d probably just argue with me. Out of everyone, you are the most, most, most annoying!”
Jian Jixing truly admired her ability to turn truth into fiction.
If I speak, you don’t listen; if you listen, you don’t act; if you act, you do it wrong; and if you’re wrong, you don’t change. Every internet slang phrase she knew seemed to apply to her right now.
It wasn’t the first time Jian Jixing had witnessed Sheng Ruxi’s unreasonable pestering, but she still found it miraculous how someone could master this “skill” so thoroughly.
She provoked Sheng Ruxi? She was clearly trying her best to avoid her.
“Out of everyone.” Jian Jixing suddenly turned to look at her, feeling a spark of interest in her choice of words. “Best Actress Sheng has such immense charm. Why don’t you teach me? Who are these people, and how do they treat you?”
Sheng Ruxi didn’t sense the danger and blurted out: “Wuwu wouldn’t keep annoying me like you do. She wouldn’t be so ungrateful or use that sarcastic tone with me.”
Seeing Jian Jixing’s expression go cold, Sheng Ruxi knew she had hit a nerve.
The moment Chu Wu’s name was mentioned, Jian Jixing changed. She had been joking just a moment ago, but now she was fuming.
“How do you want her to treat you?”
Sheng Ruxi provoked her on purpose: “At least with Wuwu’s lips, I don’t need to force a kiss, and her words are soft.”
Jian Jixing didn’t answer. Sheng Ruxi took it as a victory and raised her eyebrows in satisfaction.
As for the “rehearsal,” as long as Jian Jixing was willing to cooperate, Sheng Ruxi could do it effortlessly.
Jian Jixing was sitting motionless on the sofa, but Sheng Ruxi easily pulled her up. She linked their arms and leaned her head slightly on Jian Jixing’s shoulder—a very intimate gesture that looked exactly like what a young couple would do.
Jian Jixing looked down. It was unclear whether the ripples in her heart were due to Sheng Ruxi’s touch or because she was still thinking about those words.
Sheng Ruxi was someone who loved to dance on the edge of her boundaries.
She had told her never to mention Chu Wu’s name again. Anyone else was fine, but not Chu Wu.
To mention another Alpha so casually after just being bitten was, in front of others, equivalent to saying her own Alpha was “incapable.”
And she even called her “Wuwu” so intimately.
Has Chu Wu lost her title? She is the internationally renowned Professor Chu.
The more Jian Jixing thought about it, the more displeased she became, yet she didn’t move, letting Sheng Ruxi have her way.
Sheng Ruxi was the one who became dissatisfied: “Can’t you cooperate a little?”
“My staying still is the best cooperation I can give you.” Jian Jixing’s voice was devoid of emotion. “Are you done?”
“No, it’s not working. If it were Wuwu—”
Jian Jixing stepped forward, her hand tightening around Sheng Ruxi’s waist. “Do you really think I’m dead? Say her name one more time.”
The reaction to Chu Wu was indeed huge.
Sheng Ruxi had been a bit apprehensive, but now her temper flared up as well.
Whatever guilt she had felt mentioning Chu Wu was now completely gone.
“I’ll say it. What are you going to do about it?” The angrier Jian Jixing got, the less Sheng Ruxi feared her. She even leaned in close to her ear to whisper: “Wu. Wu.”
Moist, warm air brushed against her ear. A lover’s whisper should have been enchanting, but between them, it was a confrontation.
“She won’t choose you. You’re both Alphas. She’s only compatible with an Omega like me. Once she returns to the country, she’ll definitely want to be with me.”
“But don’t forget whose Omega you are right now.”
The dominant position shifted effortlessly. Carrying a hint of personal emotion, Jian Jixing placed her palm under Sheng Ruxi’s jaw and turned her head, exposing that jade-like ear.
Having just woken up, Sheng Ruxi wasn’t wearing any jewelry. Her ear was small, delicate, and smooth, like fine soft jade.
Jian Jixing simply lowered her head, revealing her already sharpened canines, and bit down hard on Sheng Ruxi’s earlobe.
Sheng Ruxi’s entire body stiffened. she gasped, and then her body immediately went limp.
Pheromones enveloped her, and Jian Jixing’s arms held her up.
It hurt a little, and her earlobe instantly turned the color of peach blossoms as if steamed by heat. Intense waves of tingling sensations traveled through her nerves, leaving her defenseless.
A sweet fragrance filled the air. Caught off guard, Sheng Ruxi couldn’t even hold back her own pheromones; they began to spill out.
Jian Jixing gave her a tug, and they both fell onto the soft sofa, with Sheng Ruxi landing right across Jian Jixing’s lap.
The moment she fell, Sheng Ruxi snapped in a rage: “I’m definitely telling Mom on you!”
Jian Jixing looked at the clear bite mark on Sheng Ruxi’s ear and felt satisfied.
“If you’re going to complain, go with that mark on you.”
Heat rose in Sheng Ruxi’s face, and the softness behind her ear became even more pronounced. Her lips and cheeks were flushed with the color of peach blossoms; even her angry expression looked bewitchingly beautiful.
Letting go of Jian Jixing’s collar, Sheng Ruxi really wanted to hit her.
“Everyone says Director Jian is the most patient person in the industry—patient enough to be asexual,” she asked through gritted teeth. “Why are you so different now?”
This didn’t look “asexual” at all.
This was seduction. Sheng Ruxi was certain of it.
Jian Jixing remained her usual lazy self. “Because you are different.”
It sounded like she was teasing her, or perhaps just joking.
But Sheng Ruxi’s expression softened, and a subtle sense of accomplishment suddenly bloomed in her heart.
Even if Jian Jixing hated her, she still had to acknowledge her charm.
Sheng Ruxi had always been confident and knew her own power. Since Jian Jixing was willing to say such a thing, she was easily appeased and willing to accept the gesture.
They were very close. Under the influence of the atmosphere, it felt as if something was about to happen.
Jian Jixing leaned in. Her scent made Sheng Ruxi’s heart beat like a drum, and she couldn’t help but twist her nightgown with her fingers.
When those slightly cool fingertips brushed her hair back, they felt like a thin piece of ice. Sheng Ruxi’s breathing was tense, but she didn’t refuse.
If she wants to bite, let her. Honestly, she wanted it too.
Since they were both willing, what was one more time? She’d just consider it as being bitten while accidentally teasing a dog.
Sheng Ruxi gently closed her eyes.
But after waiting a moment, the familiar sensation of a bite never came. She opened her eyes to see Jian Jixing looking at her with a half-smile. Seeing her eyes open, Jian Jixing stood up immediately.
Sheng Ruxi was momentarily dazed. “What are you doing?”
“Since you praised me for being the most patient, I don’t want to let you down,” Jian Jixing said magnanimously. “I can hold back this time.”
“Jian Jixing!”
Jian Jixing turned back instantly. “What? Did you actually want it?”
“Get out! Get out now! Leave!” Sheng Ruxi’s emotions were high, her breathing heavy, her slender frame rising and falling.
Still fuming, she grabbed a nearby pillow and threw it at her. “I never want to see you again!!!”
