After Being Reborn, My Ex-Girlfriend Became Obsessed - Chapter 32
“Teacher An, are you signing autographs for them?” Lin Duxi took the photo from An Yu’s hand, examined it carefully, and then smiled faintly.
“This photo is of me and A-Yu. It actually looks quite nice.”
She then looked up at the girl in front of her, who was frozen in surprise. “Do you want my autograph?”
The girl nodded blankly, mouth slightly open.
Lin Duxi smiled, took the pen from An Yu’s hand, and said, “I hope A-Yu doesn’t mind.”
Although she asked the question, she didn’t wait for An Yu’s reply and proceeded to sign her name on the back of the photo.
Then she handed the photo back to An Yu. “Do you want to sign too? Since it’s a photo of both of us, it would look perfect if we both signed it.”
She completely took control, acting as though she were the one signing autographs, and An Yu was the accidental intruder.
An Yu took the photo, accepted the pen from Lin Duxi, and their hands brushed against each other, fingers lightly grazing.
An Yu’s heart skipped a beat. She paused for a moment but then wrote her name normally beside Lin Duxi’s.
The two names together on the photo, along with their image, looked intimate and slightly flirtatious.
An Yu handed the photo to the girl, whose hands were trembling as she accepted it.
The surrounding fans watched in stunned silence. They initially thought An Yu was the one taking initiative, but it seemed Lin Duxi had actually led the interaction.
“Teacher Lin!”
“Teacher Lin, what are you doing here?”
“Teacher Lin, are you here to participate in the show? With Teacher An?”
Fans eagerly handed over their photos for autographs. The scene became slightly chaotic.
Lin Duxi removed her sunglasses, signing photos while smiling and greeting fans.
“Yes, I’m here to record the show… of course, I’m with A-Yu.”
Her words were deliberately vague—whether she meant they were on the show together or on the same plane was unclear. The ambiguity caused fans to exclaim and immediately take photos.
An Yu let her sign quietly, listening to her vague response. Her heart fluttered, but she didn’t speak, instead maintaining a safe distance between Lin Duxi and the fans, like a personal bodyguard.
Fans who were “shipping” them exchanged glances, silently smiling in understanding.
“It seems the two teachers are very close,” a fan remarked.
Lin Duxi paused mid-signature, casually brushed her hair away from her face, and looked at An Yu with deep affection.
The unspoken connection was powerful. Even solo fans noticed that their relationship seemed unusual.
The crowd became noisy again. An Yu, focusing on maintaining order, didn’t notice Lin Duxi’s gaze. She turned to see her collecting herself and continuing to sign.
More fans gathered, including some of Lin Duxi’s solo fans. Their photos featured only her. They quietly watched the “shipping” fans go wild, maintaining their loyal fan persona and restraining themselves from smiling.
Lin Duxi lowered her head and focused on signing, her long hair falling to the side, highlighting her flawless profile. Cameras clicked incessantly.
As the crowd thinned slightly, An Yu relaxed her stance. Suddenly, a slender hand appeared in front of her, holding a stack of signed photos.
She looked up and met Lin Duxi’s sparkling eyes, as if being drawn into a deep sea vortex. She froze for a moment.
Seeing An Yu unreactive, Lin Duxi’s expression softened and she lightly prompted, “A-Yu.”
The sound reached An Yu’s ears and stirred something within her. She regained composure and carefully signed each photo, though her mind was elsewhere.
The photos taken by fans were indeed beautiful. The static images alone captured the intimate and flirtatious atmosphere between them. One photo, in particular, showed Lin Duxi’s gaze almost lingering, making An Yu’s face heat up. But under Lin Duxi’s and the fans’ watchful eyes, she forced herself to remain calm.
“All done.” An Yu handed the photos back to the fans one by one.
“Thank you, Teacher An, Teacher Lin! Wishing you both… career success and happiness!” An overexcited fan misspoke, making everyone laugh.
An Yu saw Lin Duxi smile at the comment, and she couldn’t help but smile too.
Lin Duxi leaned toward An Yu, “A-Yu, let’s go.”
An Yu looked back, “Mm.”
Instinctively, Lin Duxi reached to loop her arm through An Yu’s, but restrained herself. She couldn’t push her luck; A-Yu would get angry.
“Good luck with the recording, teachers! We’ll be watching tomorrow and cheering for you!” a fan shouted as they walked away.
“They’re such a perfect match! Did you see their gaze just now? Too sweet!”
“God really sprinkled sugar into our mouths, I love it!”
An Yu silently focused on walking forward, side by side with Lin Duxi, who gently took the plane ticket from her hand to examine it.
“What a coincidence, A-Yu, it seems we’re on the same flight,” she said, showing her ticket.
An Yu checked—it was indeed the same flight. However, they weren’t seated together. It made sense; attending the show at the same time, taking the same plane was highly probable. She didn’t question it further.
“That’s really a coincidence… Lin Duxi saw exactly where I was.” An Yu said lightly.
Lin Duxi smiled without answering, indulgently watching her throw a small fit.
An Yu’s gaze lingered on her fair hand holding the ticket. A subtle scar at her thumb caught her attention—a small, barely noticeable mark—but in her heart, it pricked like a thorn.
She lowered her eyelids and scanned around. “Let’s go.”
Lin Duxi smiled faintly and followed.
The second episode of Hello, Friend was set to record. The director arranged for the six guests to rest at a hotel the night before because the morning filming location was far. An Yu and Lin Duxi were on the same plane, so the production sent only one car to pick them up.
An Yu left home at noon, arriving at the hotel after dark. Through the night, she glimpsed a towering black shape partially blocking the sky.
She frowned—tomorrow’s activity really would involve climbing a mountain. Her gaze drifted to Lin Duxi, recalling her fainting from fever during a high school sports event. She couldn’t help but feel concerned.
Lin Duxi noticed An Yu’s gaze, followed it, and saw the mountain herself. A pang of worry hit her.
Then she smiled, boldly looped her arm through An Yu’s, and guided her forward.
“The wind is strong outside. Let’s go in first, A-Yu.”
An Yu didn’t resist and was led inside.
Director Qiao Qingzhou had been waiting in the hotel lobby, noticing their intimate approach. Her eyelids twitched; she was confused but quickly regained composure to greet them.
“You’ve worked hard. Here are your room cards. Dinner will be delivered to your rooms. Rest well tonight—it’ll be tiring tomorrow.” She emphasized, “Very tiring.”
An Yu: “Are we climbing a mountain?”
Qiao Qingzhou nodded. “Yes, the mountain—Baimei Mountain—is very high. You need to rest tonight.”
The rooms were on the same floor, facing each other. An Yu suspected the director arranged this deliberately.
She opened her door but didn’t immediately enter. After hearing the opposite door open, she turned to Lin Duxi.
“Rest early.”
Lin Duxi replied with a smile, “You too, A-Yu. Rest early.”
An Yu collapsed onto the soft bed, sighing under the covers.
“System, do all participants have to climb the mountain tomorrow? Lin Duxi too?” she asked.
The system responded quickly:
“The female lead is a key participant, of course she has to climb. Is your brain malfunctioning?”
An Yu frowned.
“Don’t worry. The female lead is paired with the male lead. He will ensure her safety.”
The system added coldly, “Even if something happens, it won’t be serious. Or are you developing feelings for Lin Duxi again?”
An Yu: “No! Stop slandering me! If you think that, show the evidence.”
The system scanned for proof but returned:
“No evidence found. Stop covering your worries with baseless assumptions.”
An Yu laughed. “Your system is outdated—it needs an update.”
System: “No need for your concern.”
An Yu rolled her eyes.
Because of the system’s words, she had slept poorly. Only after breakfast did she feel somewhat grounded.
The morning sun warmed her as she stepped outside. Lin Duxi’s hand gently grasped hers, and her soft fragrance wafted to An Yu.
“Let’s go, A-Yu,” Lin Duxi said.
Xie An’an clicked her tongue, thinking, This is so much sugar, and braced herself for the recording.
At 9 a.m., the second episode began. Online viewers flooded in.
[Second episode! I’m here!]
[Finally, my electronic pickles—first episode analyzed!]
[Lin Duxi, I’m here! An Yu, I’m here!]
[Who stands together before the show starts? I’m crying.]
[Are they being separated into groups soon? I can’t bear it!]
[Quick, screenshot now! This might be the only sugar in the whole episode!]
Director Qiao Qingzhou, smiling, read the script aloud via megaphone:
“Welcome to the second episode. Today’s first task is to climb the mountain in front of us.”
She gestured at the mist-shrouded peak.
“Each team receives money to purchase supplies at the base. You may only use the provided funds. Any unauthorized purchases will be punished.”
Staff handed each group an envelope. An Yu counted the money with Xie An’an.
[Haha, Xie An’an is so cute, like she’s borrowing Lin Duxi from her sister-wife!]
The funds were limited. An Yu checked her medicine supplies—she was saving money.
“Mountain top will be cold. Let’s get heat packs and some climbing gear,” she said.
Xie An’an shivered. “Good… okay.” She mentally reminded herself it was just friendship.
Lin Duxi silently observed An Yu and Xie An’an planning, fists tightening slightly.
Suddenly, footsteps approached. Lin Duxi released her grip, turning.
“Lin Duxi, the recording has started. Let’s get supplies,” Pei Lu said, holding an envelope.
Lin Duxi paused, smiled faintly, and said, “Alright, let’s not be slower than the others.”
Pei Lu, startled by her calmness, clenched his envelope and walked ahead.
Lin Duxi’s smile faded. She glanced at An Yu, suppressing her longing, and turned away.
An Yu’s gaze lingered for a moment before moving on.
[Separated? They’re separated? I can’t! I don’t want them apart!]
[Don’t worry—they’re in sync!]
[Did you see Lin Duxi’s gaze? That passion isn’t acting.]
An Yu and Xie An’an split the money and headed to a pharmacy for heat packs. Seeing ginger tea in the display:
Pharmacist: “Ginger tea warms the body. It’ll be freezing at the top. Even a short-sleeved shirt at the base is fine, but a coat at the peak is normal.”
They bought a bag.
Outside, the hot wind reminded Xie An’an: “Do we have a thermos?”
An Yu: “If we have extra money, buy one at the supermarket.”
They shopped efficiently. An Yu’s bargaining skills saved them money, impressing Xie An’an.
At a mountaineering store, they spotted two trekking poles. Suddenly, a familiar voice:
“A-Yu.”
An Yu turned to see Lin Duxi smiling. The smile warmed her, and she returned it.
Just then, Pei Lu intervened.
Pei Lu: “What a coincidence, teachers.” His gaze was arrogant.
An Yu’s expression cooled. She looked at Lin Duxi, who met her eyes serenely.
Xie An’an sensed tension and hurriedly greeted them, pulling An Yu back.
Lin Duxi turned to the store clerk to negotiate, concealing any negative emotions.
She wanted to be near An Yu but had to stay with Pei Lu.
Her gaze flickered over the healed scar on her hand—no evidence left—but she couldn’t go to An Yu.
Pei Lu asked if she liked the gear. Lin Duxi responded softly, “No.”
“Really? If you don’t like it, I’ll buy it,” Pei Lu said eagerly.
Lin Duxi nodded. “You can buy it if you like. I’ll use anything.”
Pei Lu happily paid for all the equipment. Lin Duxi bought just one trekking pole.
Outside, An Yu and Xie An’an caught their breath.
Xie An’an: “Why did you pull me running?”
An Yu: “The store was overpriced. We’d have spent all our funds if we didn’t run.”
Xie An’an: “Good thing you were here!”
An Yu’s gaze unconsciously recalled Lin Duxi’s smile—but that smile wasn’t for her this time.
It was too dazzling, and she instinctively wanted to escape.
