Li Sui came from humble beginnings, but her talent for art was undeniable. Her serialized comic, The Cat Lady of the Museum, had become a breakout hit, earning her critical acclaim and numerous awards. With her career finally taking off, she felt like the luckiest woman alive especially since she had a girlfriend who treated her with nothing but tenderness.
That was, until the day she received an anonymous video.
The footage was grainy, filmed in the dim lighting of a bar. There, the woman Li Sui had loved for two years tossed a pair of new car keys onto the table. With a smirk of triumph, her girlfriend boasted, “How can you call it a scam? She’s the one who fell head over heels for me. I won this bet fair and square. That’s two hundred thousand each—don’t even think about backing out.”
Li Sui gripped her phone until her knuckles turned white. The love was a lie. Their entire relationship had been nothing more than a high-stakes game.
A few days later, while clearing her head at a scenic resort in Xiamen, Li Sui accidentally stumbled into a local matchmaking event. It was there that she crossed paths again with the beautiful lawyer she had shared a stormy, impulsive night with at a bar.
With matching “Love Lottery” tickets in hand, the two made a snap decision and headed straight to the civil bureau to get married.
At first, Li Sui believed Bai Shuyi was just a successful, elegant attorney. It wasn’t until after the marriage license was signed that the truth came out. Bai Shuyi confessed to being the daughter of the city’s wealthiest tycoon and invited Li Sui to her niece’s engagement party.
To Li Sui’s shock, her ex-girlfriend was the one getting engaged.
Before the ex could even process the sight of her, Bai Shuyi gave her niece’s head a playful, commanding pat. “Don’t just stand there staring. She is my wife and your aunt. Greet her properly.”

Sometime later, while out at dinner with friends, Li Sui overheard a conversation from outside their private booth.
“So, the person who saved your life back then… it really was her?” a friend asked, voice full of disbelief.
“Yes,” Bai Shuyi replied firmly. “She’s the one who saved me.”
The friend sounded even more baffled. “Even if you wanted to repay the favor, you didn’t have to go as far as stealing your niece’s girl.”
“I didn’t steal her,” Bai Shuyi corrected smoothly. “It was destiny.”
Only then did Li Sui realize that their “chance” reunion had been no accident at all. She had walked, step by step, into a “trap of love” meticulously laid out just for her.
