Chapter 7: “Still Mentioning Other Alphas?”
Was she supposed to watch this seriously?
Even though she knew the Chu Wu on the screen was just a broadcast through a phone camera and couldn’t possibly see the state she and Jian Jixing were in, Sheng Ruxi’s entire face flushed a deep crimson.
Her mind was racing. How could they do such a lewd thing in a dignified, serious study like this?
There wasn’t a hint of regret for the chaos she was causing on Jian Jixing’s face. Instead, she firmly blocked off the space, leaving Sheng Ruxi with no path for retreat. This wasn’t a “good opportunity”—it was a trap, and she had walked right into it.
“Let go!” No matter how stubborn Sheng Ruxi’s mouth was, she couldn’t withstand her body’s honest reaction; she hadn’t pushed back the moment she was encircled. Now, she couldn’t push her away even if she wanted to—she didn’t have the strength.
“This is the best seat to watch Professor Chu’s livestream. You want to watch, and I want to watch too,” Jian Jixing said as if it were the most logical thing in the world. “So, we’ll watch together.”
Despicable. Shameless. And a bully.
The steady scent of agarwood that filled the room when she entered had now been scorched by body heat, turning into an aggressive incense, thick and inseparable. The scent of burning tangerine peel carried a medicinal and woody aroma with a slightly bitter finish. Its appearance in Jian Jixing’s pheromones signaled that she had truly reached her rut. The scent entwined around Sheng Ruxi like threads, which, together with Jian Jixing’s arms, constructed this small, solid cage.
Jian Jixing’s embrace wasn’t gentle at all; it felt like she wanted to burn them both to ashes.
No, this wouldn’t do. Sheng Ruxi loved sweet, elegant fragrances; she detested bitterness and the coldness of woody tones. Jian Jixing hit every single one of her dislikes.
Yet, Jian Jixing’s pheromones were domineering, surging forward and breaking through her defenses, making Sheng Ruxi’s head spin.
How to escape—
Sheng Ruxi refused to admit defeat. Even as her body softened, she suddenly turned her head and bit toward Jian Jixing. They were inches apart. Sheng Ruxi’s target was clear: Jian Jixing’s lips.
Jian Jixing didn’t dodge. She merely tilted her head slightly, and Sheng Ruxi’s bite landed on her cheek. It didn’t hurt, but the provocation was immense.
Sheng Ruxi curled her lips triumphantly. She knew it.
There was a subtle tacit understanding between them: they never kissed. That was something only people in love did, and how could that be possible for her and Jian Jixing? Thus, Sheng Ruxi had calculated that Jian Jixing would pull away.
Jian Jixing’s gaze darkened. Sheng Ruxi wasn’t afraid in the slightest. This slight shift finally gave her some breathing room, and she leaned forward again, trying to bite Jian Jixing’s exposed neck.
“Give you an inch and you take a mile.” Jian Jixing reached out and brushed Sheng Ruxi’s hair aside. Sheng Ruxi’s body shuddered. “What are you doing!”
She surely won’t actually do it here…
“Your pheromones smell good.” Jian Jixing actually chuckled. “I don’t want to waste them. Is that allowed?”
The two types of pheromones in the room were blending, yet she and Sheng Ruxi remained stubbornly at odds. Jian Jixing knew there was only one way to make Sheng Ruxi behave.
Sheng Ruxi’s legs suddenly gave out. Jian Jixing immediately caught her waist and helped her stand steady. Jian Jixing’s body temperature was scalding. Sheng Ruxi closed her eyes, suppressing the urge to snap back. Fine, what else can this stubborn mouth say? If she helps me up, I’ll count it as her backing down.
Sheng Ruxi compromised. As long as they turned off the livestream now, if Jian Jixing wanted to bite her, let her bite… However, Jian Jixing didn’t retreat an inch, nor did she move further, as if she truly were just there to watch a livestream.
“Hello everyone, I’m Chu Wu. Welcome to this livestream…” The familiar voice came from the screen. Sheng Ruxi looked away awkwardly. She felt uncomfortable all over, the restlessness in her heart becoming more and more obvious.
This posture was so strange—where did Jian Jixing get such a fetish?
Next, the livestream window, which had been a small box, suddenly filled the entire monitor. Jian Jixing had maximized it. Chu Wu’s gaze happened to sweep across the audience, making it feel as though what the two were doing was being witnessed.
Sheng Ruxi’s body tensed. She tried to step back in a panic, only to press herself flush against Jian Jixing. Her curves pressed against the other woman’s back with every breath. Realizing this, Sheng Ruxi’s face, earlobes, and neck turned even redder, and the sweet-and-sour scent in the air grew heavier.
Jian Jixing’s breathing deepened. “What do you want? Why aren’t you watching seriously?”
“It’s clearly you who wants something!” Sheng Ruxi was on the verge of a breakdown from being teased like this. Whose rut was this anyway? She grit her teeth: “You definitely planned this… you aren’t even wearing a bra.” Toward the end, her voice became a whisper.
Jian Jixing raised an eyebrow. “Who wears a bra at home? Don’t measure a gentleman’s heart with the yardstick of a small person. I specifically gave this opportunity to you.”
Sheng Ruxi’s heart rate accelerated with her emotions. She tried to restrain herself.
“Sheng Ruxi, why is your breathing so fast?” Jian Jixing leaned in close to her face to look at her, her tone sounding genuinely concerned. “You’re sweating, hmm… What are you thinking about? Do you still want to bite me?”
Bite? Was now a time when she could bite people? Sheng Ruxi had no doubt that if she had actually bitten Jian Jixing’s lips earlier, she might not even be standing here now.
At that moment, the host of the livestream announced the audience interaction segment—five lucky viewers would be chosen to interact with Chu Wu. This was the moment Sheng Ruxi had been looking forward to, and her reason for returning, but now she wished everything she had said earlier didn’t count.
The first four viewers finished their chats. Sheng Ruxi couldn’t hear a word of what Chu Wu was saying on the monitor.
The fifth connection was being prepared.
“Why aren’t you talking?” Jian Jixing asked at that moment.
“…” Sheng Ruxi took a deep breath. It was hard to endure. She didn’t dare move for fear of rubbing against Jian Jixing. She just wanted to finish talking to Chu Wu quickly and turn off the stream.
As an adult, she clearly sensed the changes in her body and anticipated what might happen tonight. She was being tormented by Jian Jixing’s friction; she didn’t believe Jian Jixing had no reaction. Jian Jixing should be even more uncomfortable than her, yet this person was such a poser—she could endure so much without uttering the words “I want to mark you.”
The two were still clashing, but their pheromones had already conveyed their true thoughts, tangling together long ago.
“The connection is going through,” Jian Jixing said, her warm breath brushing against Sheng Ruxi’s ear.
Sheng Ruxi forced herself to focus, but in this situation, she couldn’t bring herself to look up at Chu Wu on the screen. She was dying of shame; even her toes curled up.
“Don’t pick up.”
“Don’t pick up? How could I let such a good opportunity go… Haven’t you been mentioning Chu Wu’s name all this time? I thought you missed her, so I gave this chance to you.” Jian Jixing’s hand suddenly cupped Sheng Ruxi’s chin, forcing her to look at the camera. She whispered, “Look closely. Don’t waste my kindness.”
At that moment, Sheng Ruxi finally saw—
The ID on the screen was Jian Jixing. It was Jian Jixing’s official, verified social media account!
There were over a million people in the livestream, many of whom were fans from the entertainment industry. As soon as Jian Jixing’s ID went online, it was at the top of the list, incredibly conspicuous. One could only imagine the explosion that would occur if Sheng Ruxi appeared on Jian Jixing’s account in this state.
Jian Jixing was doing it on purpose!
Bastard! This wicked thing! She had done it on purpose. Jian Jixing knew for a fact that she wouldn’t dare show her face on that account, so she lied about giving her the opportunity just to lure her back.
Sheng Ruxi had just figured it out, but Jian Jixing didn’t give her time to think; she actually clicked “Accept.”
Don’t—
Sheng Ruxi almost screamed. How could the two of them appear before everyone like this? Jian Jixing must have lost her mind to the rut. In an instant, Sheng Ruxi slammed the phone face-down on the desk and buried herself completely in Jian Jixing’s embrace.
Jian Jixing let out an ambiguous muffled groan from the impact. Sheng Ruxi was both angry and ashamed; she forgot to breathe, her eyes moistening with panic. Seeing Jian Jixing move to pick up the phone again, Sheng Ruxi turned around like a startled bird and bit Jian Jixing’s earlobe in retaliation.
But her tone softened: “Don’t do this… anything else, anything else is fine, okay?”
Sheng Ruxi stole her heart. Having sex was fine, but “social death” was absolutely not, and appearing before Chu Wu and the public in this state with Jian Jixing was even worse!!!
Host: “Oh? It’s our old friend. Why is Director Jian’s side blacked out? Director Jian, can you hear us?”
The voice came through clearly, but Jian Jixing acted as if she hadn’t heard. She looked down, a faint curve on her lips, and only answered Sheng Ruxi: “Then we do it here.”
“What?” Sheng Ruxi was dazed, and by the time she understood, Jian Jixing had already moved a step forward. Her lower abdomen was pressed against the edge of the desk, and the back of her neck was covered by warm lips.
It was too late to say anything. Jian Jixing’s hands no longer restrained her; instead, they gripped her waist to keep her from falling. Tears, half-real and half-faked, filled Sheng Ruxi’s eyes: “Jian Jixing, how can you be so wicked?”
Wicked?
Jian Jixing licked her lips before leisurely answering the host: “Yeah.”
“Why is Director Jian’s voice so raspy? And why is it so dark over there?” the host asked curiously.
Jian Jixing: “I’m getting ready to sleep.”
Sheng Ruxi’s back was tense, her head involuntarily arching back. She had to stifle her own voice, while Jian Jixing’s words automatically translated in her ears to: I’m getting ready to sleep with you.
How could she be so shameless? This wasn’t “getting ready” anymore. Her scent gland didn’t hurt; Jian Jixing’s first bite wasn’t deep, but a strange sense of emptiness surged up. The one feeling exceptionally unsatisfied turned out to be herself.
Chu Wu spoke: “This early? That doesn’t sound like you.”
Jian Jixing smiled: “I just want to go to bed.”
Sheng Ruxi’s nerves were pulled taut; all she heard was: I just want to sleep with you…
Jian Jixing’s hand finally moved over her. Sheng Ruxi’s tears fell as she practically slumped onto the desk. In this position, she had no way to bite Jian Jixing back. The hands always circling her waist provided a soft buffer.
Chu Wu knew Jian Jixing’s casual nature and didn’t force her to show the camera. “Any questions for me?”
Hearing a sound from the other side, Chu Wu added: “Don’t fall off the bed now.”
Sheng Ruxi couldn’t help but cry out, trying desperately to hold it in, resulting in a sob. She was defenseless against Jian Jixing’s offensive, like a thin cloud held up entirely by Jian Jixing, flowing into any shape within her palms.
It was too much.
Sheng Ruxi lowered her head. Jian Jixing’s mischievous fingers were moving from her chest to her chin. She leaned down and bit Jian Jixing’s finger.
“Mmm… I won’t.” Jian Jixing looked at the teeth marks on her fingertip, not angry at all. Instead, she brushed against Sheng Ruxi’s cheek. She asked nonchalantly: “When do you plan on getting married?”
The previous questions had been academic; only with Jian Jixing did the channel suddenly flip.
“I don’t have plans for that right now. I’ll leave it to fate.”
Jian Jixing wound a strand of Sheng Ruxi’s hair around her finger. “How can you do that? I’m afraid someone will be heartbroken.”
Stop talking! Sheng Ruxi knew Jian Jixing was mocking her. The livestream was filled with friendly jeers, and even the host laughed. “Director Jian is as supportive of Professor Chu as ever.”
Jian Jixing: “Many people support her. Professor Chu is very charming; Omegas like her.”
Don’t you agree? Jian Jixing silently asked with her hands. She bit down again, this time hard and deep. Sheng Ruxi’s skirt had been pulled up, crumpled and spread across one side of the desk. The zipper had been skillfully undone at some point, exposing a wide stretch of her shoulder blades. Slumped on the desk, she looked like a fragile butterfly—wings spread as if to fly, yet soaked by rain and dew, unable to take off.
In her daze, Sheng Ruxi felt one of her legs being guided back to hook around Jian Jixing’s waist. Her tears rolled down continuously, her lower body trembling. As for what Jian Jixing and Chu Wu discussed afterward, she didn’t hear a single word.
The night was deep, and even the moonlight on the treetops seemed stained with heat.
In her blurred consciousness, Jian Jixing completely threw away her logic. she whispered into Sheng Ruxi’s ear with a light chuckle: “Sheng Ruxi, are you still going to mention other Alphas’ names in front of me?”
