[ABO] The Despised One Becomes an Internet Sensation After Marriage - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
Today, he had gotten too deep into the act; he had been too impulsive.
The jasmine scent faded as Xu Zhimian retreated to the very edge of the bed. He privately brooded over Fu Shiyan’s line from the livestream—”long-awaited rain after a drought”—and came to one conclusion: Fu Shiyan’s acting was truly superb.
Despite that, Fu Shiyan remained the only beam of light ever cast upon his barren, dark wilderness.
His dreams were surreal, drifting through a kaleidoscope of memories.
…
A piercing light cut through the sky, and the vision shifted.
Inside a club bathroom, Xu Zhimian was hunched over a toilet, retching until his chest ached. His phone rang incessantly. Splashing cold water on his face, he glanced at the caller ID. His heart sank.
“Hello, Dr. Jiang? Is something wrong this late?”
The voice on the other end was frantic. “Xiao Xu, you need to get to the hospital. Your grandmother’s heart just stopped. She’s in the ICU being resuscitated.”
The dream jumped again.
“We have a big client today, so everyone works hard,” the floor manager said, straightening their clothes. His gaze landed on Xu Zhimian, who stood silently at the back. “Alright, go change. Mian-mian, stay behind.”
Xu Zhimian wore the club’s uniform—a waiter’s shirt buttoned to the very top. The upturned corners of his eyes looked both enchanting and aloof, making him look out of place among the other “social butterflies.”
The manager looked at him with admiration and patted his shoulder. “With a face like yours, people will be fighting to sponsor you.”
Xu Zhimian’s expression remained cold. “…I’m only doing this once.”
The manager found it amusing. Every newcomer thought that way, but once they got a taste of the high life, few ever left. “Among the clients tonight, there’s one named ‘Fu.’ They say he’s the one in power. Very generous.”
Generous? His grandmother’s heart transplant would cost a million. Xu Zhimian memorized the name.
In Victoria, the outfits for “host” and “room companion” were vastly different. Xu Zhimian was put into a “man-servant” outfit that barely reached his upper thighs. The neckline was intentionally altered, plunging dangerously low.
Inside the dim private booth, Xu Zhimian scanned the Alphas. Most were young, mid-twenties. His eyes stopped on the one sitting at the edge of the sofa. This Alpha had his eyes downcast, holding a cigarette between well-defined fingers. The swirling smoke blurred his features. Other wealthy heirs kept glancing at him, looking both wary and fearful.
“Master Chen, why are you just getting here?” “Master Huo, long time no see!”
A few Alphas turned their attention to Xu Zhimian. One froze, then clicked his tongue. “…A newcomer?”
A spoiled heir, Lu Ze, was being hugged by another Omega. He reached out toward Zhimian, but the Omega in his arms pouted. “Master Lu, why are you looking at the pot while eating from the bowl?”
Lu Ze laughed carelessly. “Fine, fine, I won’t look.”
Xu Zhimian ignored the stares. He mimicked the other Omegas and clumsily leaned toward the “Fu” Alpha.
The Alpha raised a hand and shoved him away ruthlessly. He knit his brows and spat out one word: “Get out!”
“Ssh.” Xu Zhimian fell hard to the floor.
“Tsk, tsk. Such a beauty, and Master Fu is so heartless,” another heir beckoned. “Come here, beauty. Come to me.”
The name “Fu” made Zhimian’s heart skip. He bit his lip and glared at Fu Shiyan. Their eyes met. Under the dim light, the black lace choker around Zhimian’s neck made his skin look like snow. His glare, combined with his flushed face, looked more like an invitation.
Fu Shiyan froze for a second. It’s him.
Panicked at being caught staring, Zhimian scrambled to get up and head toward the other heir. But in the dark, he tripped over the corner of the table and fell straight into Fu Shiyan’s lap.
He smelled a faint woody scent, followed by an intoxicating aroma of brandy. A nearby heir whistled in amusement.
Zhimian was stunned. He scrambled up, his jasmine pheromones leaking out in his panic. “Mr. Fu, I’m sorry.”
Fu Shiyan looked at his face for a moment before looking away. “Don’t let it happen again.”
The heir who had called him over grabbed Zhimian’s waist and whispered in his ear, “Don’t waste your energy on him, beauty. That lord is impossible to get close to. Come, drink with me.”
Xu Zhimian curled his lips slightly. “Alright, Master Chen.”
The Alphas surrounded him, forcing him to drink. As time passed, the jasmine scent grew heavier.
Fu Shiyan, smelling the scent, paused. He looked past the socialites talking to him and met the eyes of Xu Zhimian, who was surrounded by “wolves.” The Omega’s face was dusted with a soft pink. His eyes were wide and misty, looking innocent and lost.
Master Chen was playing with the bell on Zhimian’s choker, tugging it. Zhimian was pulled forward, his cat-ear headband tilting. He looked like a helpless kitten that had stumbled into a tiger’s den.
“Master Chen,” another Alpha whistled, “this one is a rare find. Want to play together?”
It took Zhimian several seconds to process the meaning. He shook his head in terror. “No… no…”
“Sure,” Master Chen smirked. “The usual place.”
Zhimian struggled. No! I don’t want this!
The Alphas laughed. “Feisty. I like that better.”
Suddenly, a figure blocked the dim light. The heirs looked up. “Master Fu? What are you…?”
Fu Shiyan leaned down, looking at Xu Zhimian’s panicked eyes. The jasmine scent was overwhelming now. “Me, or them? Choose for yourself.”
As if seeing a savior, Xu Zhimian grabbed Fu Shiyan’s sleeve. “Sir! You!”
The other Alphas turned pale. By letting a “toy” choose, Fu Shiyan was slapping them in the face. But considering the Fu family’s power, Master Chen coughed and acted indifferent. “If Master Fu likes him, he’s yours.”
…
In the top-floor suite of Victoria, the lights were dim and amber.
Xu Zhimian bit his lip until it turned white, his knuckles straining as he gripped the sheets.
“Your first time?”
Zhimian stiffened, thinking Fu Shiyan had lost interest. He rolled over and grabbed Fu Shiyan’s hand. “Don’t go. Sir, I can do it.”
Fu Shiyan looked at him. The Omega was kneeling on the bed, wearing cat ears and a bell choker that jingled with every movement. His eyes were full of panic and desperation.
Fu Shiyan’s gaze darkened. He patted Zhimian’s face. “I didn’t say I was leaving.”
…
Tears gathered at the corners of Zhimian’s eyes. The bell on his neck jingled violently. He bit his lip to stifle his voice, but a long finger forced its way between his teeth.
The Alpha’s voice was husky and primal. “Bite me.”
Zhimian pressed his teeth against the finger but didn’t dare use force.
The jingling grew louder and louder—until Xu Zhimian suddenly woke up.
It was just his phone vibrating on the nightstand. He looked over; the space beside him was empty, and the sound of a shower came from the bathroom.
He answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Xu Zhimian? Why do you have my second uncle’s phone?” Fu Zhen’s shocked voice came through.
Zhimian realized he had picked up Fu Shiyan’s phone by mistake. He smirked. “Why do you think so?”
“Where is he?! Give him the phone!”
“Oh,” Zhimian ran a hand through his hair. “He’s in the shower. I’ll tell him you called later.”
“Who wants you to tell him!” Fu Zhen paused, his voice turning weird. “Why is he showering so early? Xu Zhimian, you—you aren’t allowed to do anything to him!”
Zhimian laughed. “Why not? We’re legally married. It’s none of your business what we do.”
Fu Zhen spluttered. “I won’t accept you as my aunt! Neither will Grandpa! Don’t think you can just enter the Fu family!”
“Are you done?” Zhimian yawned. “Anything else? If not, I’m hanging up.” He ended the call before Fu Zhen could respond.
…
The livestream began at 8:00 AM.
After Fu Shiyan’s cold words the previous night, Xu Zhimian had pulled back his feelings. They were in a stalemate. Lost in thought, Zhimian tripped over a chair.
“Careful!” A hand caught his wrist, while another supported his waist. They were suddenly so close Zhimian could see the fine hairs on Fu Shiyan’s face. Fu Shiyan frowned. “Did you twist it?”
[OMG, another sweet moment!] [Sugar for breakfast!]
Xu Zhimian pulled back, avoiding the support. “I’m fine.”
The camera couldn’t see Zhimian’s face, but Fu Shiyan could see the coldness there. For some reason, it made him feel uncomfortable.
The first to arrive in the common area were Ji Yan and Zhou Yan. Zhou Yan was leaning half his weight on Ji Yan, looking exhausted. “Morning,” he muttered to Zhimian.
[My bratty boy looks like he didn’t sleep at all haha.] [Cough… that expression looks like they did something last night…]
