A Loyal Scumbag-A Who Became the Wife of the Goddess - Chapter 3
“Miss, are you cold?” Butler Zhou asked. “Should I turn up the air conditioning?”
He noticed Miss Chi’s body trembling slightly beneath the covers.
Chi Lengzhao poked her head out. “I’d like a cup of hot water, just warm is fine.”
Butler Zhou quickly poured her a cup of hot water.
Chi Lengzhao took it, gulped it down, and handed the cup back, saying warmly, “Thank you.”
It was a perfectly ordinary thank you, yet it caused a sudden change in the butler’s expression. He stared at Chi Lengzhao, puzzled. “Miss, are you alright? Is there anywhere you’re feeling unwell?”
The original owner of this body was a twisted, radical, and volatile woman who always maintained a haughty, domineering demeanor. Ever since she entered her teenage years, she had remained comfortably entrenched in her rebellious phase, rarely showing any gentleness towards others.
Her only rule in dealing with people and situations was this: if anything went wrong, the fault always lay with others, never with herself.
Except for her father, she had never uttered the words “I’m sorry” to anyone.
Chi Lengzhao found it a little odd. “Butler Zhou, why are you looking at me like that? I’m fine, nothing’s wrong. Don’t worry.”
Butler Zhou pursed his lips, lowered his gaze, and remained silent. Then he heard a crunching sound. Looking up, he saw Chi Lengzhao had casually picked up a red apple from the cabinet and was taking a bite.
His eyes widened. “Miss, the apple hasn’t been peeled yet!”
“No need. It’s better to eat it unpeeled.”
Butler Zhou said nothing, secretly glancing at the Miss, who was vigorously biting into the apple. He sensed something was off today, very off. After all, she had never eaten an unpeeled apple before.
As she munched on the apple, Chi Lengzhao scrolled through her phone, noticing several groups with unread messages marked “99+.” She casually opened one, and her eyes were met with a scantily clad Omega, followed by a barrage of explicit images and videos. She ignored them and continued scrolling through the group chat.
Several active members, likely Alphas, were dominating the conversation:
“This girl looks good!”
“She’s alright. I’ve tried her.”
“How was she? Did she scream like the last one?”
*******
Further down were all sorts of obscene photos and text. Chi Lengzhao, looking disgusted, simply left the group.
Then she opened another group chat.
“Zhao, how was your wedding night? How was the taste of the first Omega at the seaside?”
“What does Shen Zhixi’s pheromones smell like?”
“I heard it’s strawberry!”
“Bullshit! It’s sweet orange! Or maybe sweet cream!”
“Get lost! You think she’s like those Omegas you play around with?!”
“Come out and talk, Zhao.”
“Where is she? Hurry up and say something!”
“Haha! She’s probably still marking her as ‘sister-in-law’!”
“Damn! Didn’t they go all night? How thrilling!”
Chi Lengzhao checked the time. The last message was at 3:50 AM.
There were only four people in the group, including the original owner—clearly her shady friends and like-minded “close” buddies.
After a moment’s thought, Chi Lengzhao decided to respond in a domineering tone, mimicking the group’s crude style:
“Show some fucking respect, all of you!”
“Shen Zhixi is my wife!”
“Anyone who dares to spout any more nonsense will find themselves on the receiving end of my wrath!”
Chi Lengzhao had intended to fire back with a single retort, but the satisfaction of cursing compelled her to unleash three scathing responses.
“Butler Zhou, Shen…” Chi Lengzhao couldn’t recall how the original owner of this body addressed Shen Zhixi, but assuming it wouldn’t be so formal as to use her full name, she corrected herself. “Where is the Young Madam’s hospital room?”
“The Young Madam is in Room 701. Huazi is keeping watch there.”
Huazi was another servant in the Chi household, a young woman in her early twenties who Shen Zhixi had brought over from the Shen family.
There was also a maid named Fangfang, likely stationed at the villa.
“I’ll go check on her.”
“Miss, shall I assist you?”
“No need.”
Instead of going straight to Shen Zhixi’s room, Chi Lengzhao first stopped by the restroom.
After using the facilities, she casually glanced at her reflection in the mirror above the sink. The earlier bloodstains had obscured her features, but now that they were wiped away, her original makeup was revealed.
What she saw in the mirror made Chi Lengzhao gasp in shock. The ghastly appearance of her body nearly made her sick with anger.
Her reflection revealed a smoky, ashen face with jet-black lips and sullen, grayish cheeks. The eerie, deathly pallor, combined with the bandages wrapped around her head due to a wound on the back of her skull, made her look like a zombie risen from the grave.
Yesterday was supposed to be her wedding day. Even if the original owner of this body wasn’t a bride, why would she have chosen such an ugly and bizarre makeup? She might as well have auditioned for a zombie movie.
Hearing Miss’s cry, Butler Zhou rushed into the bathroom. “Miss?”
Chi Lengzhao pointed at her face. “Butler Zhou, which makeup artist did this?”
Butler Zhou stammered. “You did it yourself, Miss. You said it was the latest ‘zombie bride’ trend, and that on your wedding night, you wanted to outshine everyone…”
Chi Lengzhao turned away, silently cursing. Outshine? More like bottom of the barrel! And the bad luck!
“Get me some makeup remover. I still have to show my face.”

A gentle breeze drifted through the slightly opened window, carrying a refreshing coolness that enveloped Shen Zhixi’s body.
The air was subtly infused with the delicate fragrance of osmanthus flowers, a scent that was faint yet utterly pleasant.
Shen Zhixi sat on the hospital bed, her head turned towards the window. She gazed at the branches reaching towards the window, motionless, as if lost in thought.
The fever had subsided, and the lymph nodes at the back of her neck had returned to normal. Her mind was clear again, able to think.
Knock, knock, knock. Someone was at the door.
Shen Zhixi didn’t turn around. “Come in.”
Chi Lengzhao pushed the door open and found herself facing a slender back, the hospital gown making her seem even more frail. Long, wavy hair cascaded down her back, and through the dim light, she could see Shen Zhixi’s waist, so slender it seemed barely a span wide. Her sleeves were rolled up, revealing a pale forearm that rested casually over the blanket. Illuminated by the sunlight streaming through the window, her skin glowed with an ethereal radiance.
She was beautiful like a delicate porcelain doll—fragile, lovely, and in need of protection. Even from behind, her presence was enough to captivate anyone.
Chi Lengzhao couldn’t help but inwardly marvel: Truly worthy of being the female lead in a book—the Omega that countless Alphas would chase after.
After hearing no movement behind her for a long time, Shen Zhixi suddenly turned around. When she saw the visitor, a flicker of emotion finally appeared in her calm, deep eyes.
Besides surprise, Chi Lengzhao quickly saw contempt and hatred in those eyes.
“What do you want?” Her voice was icy, her hatred blatant.
The voice was pleasant, clear and deep. Ignoring the hostility, it was the kind of voice Chi Lengzhao liked.
“I came to see you,” Chi Lengzhao said, taking a step toward the bed. “Are you feeling better?”
“Don’t come any closer!”
Chi Lengzhao stopped, looking straight at Shen Zhixi and waiting for her to speak.
Shen Zhixi hadn’t expected Chi Lengzhao to actually stop. There was no shouting, no furious outburst, no desperate charge forward. Those eyes were calm, even curious, and held a rare patience, as if genuinely waiting for her next words.
Shen Zhixi scoffed inwardly. Chi Lengzhao was just putting on another act.
Chi Lengzhao softened her voice and asked politely, “Are you feeling better now?”
At that moment, Chi Lengzhao seemed genuinely gentle and harmless. If Shen Zhixi hadn’t been reborn, she probably would have been deceived again.
Shen Zhixi closed her eyes, drawing in a sharp breath. Her lips, still dry from the fever, parted. “Chi Lengzhao, I need to talk to you.”
“Mm, go ahead.”
The room fell silent for three seconds.
In a calm, uninflected voice, Shen Zhixi said, “Let’s get a divorce.”
Chi Lengzhao visibly froze, then quickly regained her composure. “Do you really want a divorce?”
Shen Zhixi tensed. That bitch is trying to use Meixi against me again!
Her fingers tightened around the edge of the quilt, knuckles turning white.
Not this time. No matter what, I won’t let her threaten me with Meixi again. If Meixi needs help, I’ll endure it myself. I managed in the previous life, and I can do it again in this one.
“Chi Lengzhao, marrying you was a mistake. Let’s get a divorce. I’m serious.”
Chi Lengzhao, now 25 years old, had never confessed her feelings to anyone, never dated, never held hands, never kissed, and certainly never married.
And yet, the moment she arrived in this world, the female lead demanded a divorce in person.
“Understood. I can empathize with your feelings. As for the divorce, I’ll give it serious consideration.”
With that, Chi Lengzhao hastily added, “Get some rest. I won’t bother you again,” and swiftly left the room.
