- A Loyal Scumbag-A Who Became the Wife of the Goddess
- Chapter 10 - How dare you flirt with my wife!
Shen Zhixi finally got a clear look at the woman’s face. She wasn’t a stranger—this was one of Chi Lengzhao’s shady friends, Shi Xin, also known as San Jin.
Shen Zhixi gave a cold, detached “Hm,” and said, “Hello,” before turning away, refusing to acknowledge this vulgar, refined trash.
“Sister-in-law, where are you going? Zhao? Isn’t she with you?” Shi Xin’s enthusiasm remained undimmed by Shen Zhixi’s frostiness.
Yesterday, Shen Zhixi’s grandmother had been hospitalized with a heart attack. Today, only after her mother’s relentless urging had she reluctantly come to the hospital to visit. What should have been a dull visit had become interesting due to her unexpected encounter with Shen Zhixi.
Shi Xin quickly glanced at the surveillance cameras in the corridor, then turned to block the camera’s view.
The corridor was empty; the nurse from the nurses’ station had followed a doctor into a patient’s room.
Without hesitation, Shi Xin grabbed a strand of Shen Zhixi’s hair, lifted the soft locks to her nose, and inhaled deeply. “So fragrant! Sister-in-law, you smell like osmanthus flowers.”
Shen Zhixi jerked her head away, stepping back, her voice turning icy. “What are you doing?”
“Don’t be nervous, Sister-in-law,” Shi Xin said, closing in like a hungry wolf spotting a little bunny. “You truly live up to being Haibin’s top Omega. Just one night and you’ve got Zhao wrapped around your little finger.”
Shen Zhixi ignored her, noticing the elevator was almost here. She tried to sidestep Shi Xin and step inside.
But Shi Xin grabbed her wrist, yanked her close, and grinned lecherously. “Don’t be in such a hurry, Sister-in-law. I’m not any worse than Zhao, you know.”
An Omega’s strength couldn’t match an Alpha’s. Shen Zhixi hadn’t expected such brazen audacity—daring to openly harass her in a hospital corridor.
Trapped in Shi Xin’s embrace, Shen Zhixi struggled desperately, her face flushing crimson. When resistance proved futile, she shouted, “Let me go! I don’t even know you!”
“First time’s the charm, Sister-in-law. I genuinely admire you. Wanna try my pheromones?”
Shi Xin maliciously released her pheromones, a tobacco-like scent drifting from the back of her neck.
Clearly, she intended to forcibly trigger Shen Zhixi’s glandular response with her pheromones.
“Let me go! Let me go!”
Shi Xin’s arms clamped around Shen Zhixi like a vice. The more Shen Zhixi struggled, the more excited Shi Xin became, a fiery rage burning within her.
She had longed to taste the flavor of the Haibin First Omega. Moreover, Chi Lengzhao had actually defied her for Shen Zhixi’s sake—this was unforgivable!
Shi Xin grinned maliciously, her lips inching closer to the back of Shen Zhixi’s neck, eager to lick her gland. “Sister-in-law, you’ll be begging me for this soon…”
The elevator door chimed open.
Xia Lian hadn’t expected to witness such a scene upon stepping out: this shameless slut forcibly grabbing Shen Zhixi and trying to touch her gland.
“What are you doing?” Xia Lian roared, lunging forward and landing a punch on Shi Xin’s face. “Let her go!”
Caught off guard by the sudden attack, Shi Xin’s vision blurred momentarily, her grip weakening. Shen Zhixi seized the opportunity to wrench herself free.
“You piece of trash!” Xia Lian’s fury erupted again as she threw another punch.
Shi Xin adjusted her glasses, her vision clearing to reveal Xia Lian’s white lab coat. She smirked dismissively. “A mere doctor like you? You don’t even qualify.”
Shi Xin didn’t flinch or dodge. Instead, she raised her head and stepped forward, her eyes filled with a sinister, malicious glint. “Do you know who I am? How dare you, a mere nobody, raise a hand against me?”
The fist, which had been hurtling toward her with a whoosh, froze mid-air.
“Even Director Lu kneels before me and licks my boots. What makes you think you, an ant, can defy me? You have no idea who you’re dealing with!” Shi Xin sneered, her voice dripping with arrogance and smugness. “If you dare lay a hand on me today, I’ll make sure you can’t practice in any hospital in Haibin.”
Xia Lian’s fists cracked audibly as she clenched them tight, her eyes blazing with fury, teeth grinding in rage.
Yet the fist remained suspended, never landing.
She needed this job—the medical bills for her mother’s treatment, her sister’s tuition—all depended on this position.
Humiliation, anger, and the bitter necessity of submission.
“Bullshit! Look at that pathetic face of yours! Director Lu would never kneel before you! Have you no shame?”
An enraged voice roared from afar, closing the distance in an instant.
“Chi Lengzhao?!”
Shi Xin turned just in time to meet a fist squarely on her nose. Stars exploded before her eyes as blood gushed across her face.
“She’s not worthy to hit you. Am I?” Chi Lengzhao didn’t wait for a response before landing another punch on Shi Xin’s chin. Teeth clacked against her tongue, and the pain made Shi Xin clutch her mouth, unable to speak, blood seeping from the corner of her lips.
“You bastard! How dare you make advances on my wife! I’m going to beat you to death, you scum!”
Chi Lengzhao’s third punch landed heavily on Shi Xin’s stomach.
Shi Xin doubled over like a shrimp, her face contorted in agony.
A brutal kick to the knee followed, accompanied by the sickening crack of breaking bone. Shi Xin collapsed to the floor.
“You piece of trash! How dare you grope my wife?!” Chi Lengzhao unleashed a series of vicious kicks. “And the nerve to reek of that disgusting tobacco smell! Don’t you know hospitals are smoke-free zones?”
Nurses and patients from neighboring rooms rushed out at the commotion. Two Alphas fighting? Now this was worth witnessing!
“Huh? Is that Shen Zhixi?”
“It really looks like Shen Zhixi!”
Hearing the mention of the smoke-free zone, several nurses burst into laughter.
Huazi, alerted by the commotion, hurried over, sunglasses and mask in hand. “Miss, are you alright?”
Shen Zhixi shook her head, afraid Chi Lengzhao might really hurt Shi Xin. She stepped forward and tugged at Chi Lengzhao’s sleeve. “Stop it. Chi Lengzhao, Zhao, please stop.”
Chi Lengzhao reluctantly released her grip and looked down at Shi Xin, who lay on the ground like a limp rag.
Shi Xin, too battered to retaliate, glared at Chi Lengzhao, her face smeared with blood. “Chi Lengzhao, you fucking bitch! Did you really have to hit so hard? Do you even consider me a friend anymore?”
“Friends’ wives are off-limits. I don’t need friends like you!” Chi Lengzhao retorted, though inwardly she thought, Who the hell are you? I don’t even know you.
If you really were this original body’s friend, then birds of a feather flock together—you’re probably no saint yourself. You deserve a beating.
Seeing Chi Lengzhao’s cold denial, Shi Xin hissed through gritted teeth, “Chi Lengzhao, you’re ruthless!”
She staggered to her feet, cursing. “I’m going to sue you! You’ve left me with severe injuries—I’ve actually broken bones! You’ll be going to jail!”
Xia Lian, standing nearby, interjected, “A fracture is hardly a severe injury. If you get a medical assessment, it won’t meet the criteria. Would you like Director Lu to examine you personally?”
“Hmph!” Shi Xin snorted.
The onlookers, who had been watching the spectacle, now understood the situation clearly: this trash had harassed Shen Zhixi first.
Everyone knows Shen Zhixi just got married to Chi Lengzhao. This scum had the nerve to harass her newlywed wife and call himself her “friend”? This piece of trash deserves to be beaten.
After the commotion, the wound on Chi Lengzhao’s head reopened, blood seeping through the white gauze.
In the hospital room, Butler Zhou fretted. “Miss, you’re bleeding again.”
Chi Lengzhao hadn’t noticed until she touched the back of her head and felt the blood. She remained calm. “It’s fine. I’ll just need a doctor to rewrap it.”
Butler Zhou muttered bitterly, “That Miss Shi has gone too far this time. How dare she call herself your friend?” before hurrying off to call the doctor.
Miss Shi? Shi Xin?
So she really was the original body’s toxic friend after all!
Chi Lengzhao inwardly scoffed. Fine, let’s not be friends. I don’t want to associate with scum like her anyway.
Soon, her phone rang.
Flat Peach Xue called. “Zhao, what happened? San Jin said you beat him black and blue! He’s threatening to leave the group chat and cut ties with you!”
“Cut ties? Fine by me. I don’t want to associate with scum like him anyway. I’m leaving the group too!”
Flat Peach Xue: “……”
Another call came through. “Zhao, what’s going on between you and San Jin? Why are you both leaving the group?”
Chi Lengzhao was about to answer when You Neihan interrupted from the other end. “Never mind, I understand. Flat Peach and I will be over to visit you both soon. We’re at the same hospital anyway, so it’ll be easy to check on you.”
Chi Lengzhao stared at the screen, bewildered.
What do you mean you understand? What exactly do you think you understand?
