Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 38.2
This time, the heat passed peacefully. Sui Yu’s pheromone release didn’t wear her out nearly as much as before, and she even had enough energy afterward to drag Shen Jueshu downstairs to play several rounds of games together—letting Shen Jueshu carry her through each one.
The rest of her heat days went by smoothly. But once it was over and Shen Jueshu had fully come back to herself, she was struck by a sudden realization: she was becoming addicted to Sui Yu’s pheromones.
It wasn’t just a physical dependence—it felt like a craving rooted in her heart. Even if the mark between them were someday removed, she would still long for her.
Back at the company, hearing all the rumors swirling about her and Sui Yu, Shen Jueshu felt a strong urge to speed things up. She didn’t want to keep standing on opposite sides of Sui Yu. Not anymore.
While Shen Jueshu was at work, Sui Yu was suddenly dragged into a social gathering. The group was clearly made up of players and party-goers, and when they saw Sui Yu arrive, they burst out laughing.
“President Sui, how could you get married and not invite us to celebrate? Don’t tell me you’ve gone soft and become a whipped husband already?”
“Nonsense! How could that be?! Our President Sui is a top Alpha—others always come to her, not the other way around. Besides, I heard she and that woman from the Shen family are already headed for divorce!”
Sui Yu swirled the wine in her glass lazily, her fingers stroking the rim. Her voice was calm and slow:
“She doesn’t have a name?”
That woman from the Shen family—is that what the original Sui Yu’s so-called “friends” used to call Shen Jueshu?
“Haha, is President Sui actually mad?” one man chuckled, throwing an arm around her shoulders. “You didn’t get this upset when we joked about passing her around after you were done—why are you suddenly angry about a title? Don’t tell me… you’ve really fallen for her?”
Sui Yu’s fingers stilled. Her gaze turned icy as she stared at the man beside her.
“Who gave you the right to touch me?” she said coldly. “Who gave you the courage to speak to me like that?”
The man’s whole body froze under her glare. It felt like falling into an icy lake. He quickly withdrew his arm and gave a nervous laugh. “Just kidding! No need to take it seriously, President Sui!”
“Get lost.”
Her voice was sharp.
The man backed off immediately, while the rest of the group exchanged uneasy glances. Sui Yu, once the center of their circle, now felt like an outsider—alien, excluded.
“So?” she asked coolly, setting her glass down. “Why did you call me here today?”
She leaned back in her seat, one leg crossed over the other, the picture of carefree elegance—but her tone was razor-sharp.
The group exchanged looks. One of the Alphas finally stepped forward with a forced smile.
“Well, ever since your wedding, you haven’t come out to hang with us. We just thought—since everyone had some free time today—we’d get together.”
What they didn’t say was that when they’d invited her, they’d specifically told her to bring Shen Jueshu along.
Sui Yu pulled out her phone and opened the message thread, reading aloud with mockery in her voice: “Room 1705 at Chun’an Club. Don’t forget to bring Shen Jueshu~”
Her eyes swept across them coldly. “So why, exactly, were you so eager for me to bring her?”
“Uh—”
Each word hit like a hammer to their skulls. The group was stunned into silence, faces flushed with embarrassment.
Sui Yu’s lips curled into a cold smile. Then, suddenly, she grabbed her wine glass and hurled it directly at the man who had touched her earlier.
“Who gave you the guts to pull this kind of stunt?!” she shouted.
“You’re not afraid of payback?!”
It wasn’t just about her. Even setting her aside—Shen Jueshu was from the Shen family. Yes, the company had taken a hit recently due to financial issues, but it was already recovering.
What made them think they could get away with this?
The man cried out, clutching his bleeding forehead. But when he looked up and met Sui Yu’s frozen stare, the fury that had begun to rise instantly deflated.
“We had numbers on our side,” someone muttered quietly. “If we recorded something and leaked it… it’d be her reputation on the line. She wouldn’t dare fight back.”
Sui Yu almost laughed. They seriously thought they could do that?
Just looking at them, she could tell—this wasn’t the first time they’d pulled something like this. And the worst part? She couldn’t understand why the original Sui Yu hadn’t shut it down before. Had the plot already been steering her that strongly?
She didn’t even want to think about it.
If the original Sui Yu had actually ended up with Shen Jueshu… would this twisted story really have come true?
Sui Yu stood up. Just staying there another second made her feel disgusted.
She committed each face in that room to memory, one by one.
She wouldn’t let a single one of them off the hook.
What Sui Yu didn’t know was that, as she walked away, someone watched her with eyes full of resentment and hatred.
As soon as she stepped out of the club and breathed in the fresh air, Sui Yu finally felt the heavy weight in her chest begin to ease. What she wanted most now was to make sure every one of those animals in human skin inside that room ended up in jail.
She asked Qin Qing to gather detailed information on everyone who had been in that room, and then went to check in on Jiang Siyue—only to unexpectedly run into Li Jiang.
Her expression turned complicated instantly. She couldn’t understand why she was running into Li Jiang here, and at such a “coincidental” moment no less.
Seeing the production crew member standing next to Li Jiang, she immediately felt something was off. After asking around, she found out Li Jiang had entered the show as a sponsor.
Yeah right, she thought. If this woman’s intentions are pure, I’ll write my name backwards.
Putting on a big smile, she walked over and said exaggeratedly, “President Li! What a coincidence, running into you here!”
Li Jiang: “…” Why does my luck feel so cursed lately?
“Yes. Quite a coincidence,” she said with a cold face.
“I know President Li well, and I’ve been here a few times myself. Let me show you around, and you can let your assistant handle the work.” Sui Yu turned to the staffer.
The crew member glanced at Li Jiang’s frosty expression and was more than eager to escape. Hearing Sui Yu’s suggestion, he gratefully shot her a look and took off.
Now that they were alone, Li Jiang looked at the ever-smiling Sui Yu and said coolly, “President Sui, what exactly are you trying to do?”
She had clearly chased the assistant off on purpose, and she was smiling in a way that couldn’t possibly mean anything good.
“I could ask you the same thing.” Sui Yu’s smile faded as she clasped her hands behind her back and said slowly, “The show’s already halfway through, and only now you decide to show up as a sponsor? Mind telling me what you’re really after, President Li?”
Li Jiang stared at her through her glasses, saying nothing.
Looking at her like this, Sui Yu had to admit—Jiang Siyue had been right. Li Jiang had that “refined villain” kind of look that clearly appealed to a lot of people.
“You won’t answer? Then let me guess.” Sui Yu tapped her chin in fake thought. “It’s because of… Mo Yu, isn’t it?”
Li Jiang: “???”
She stared at her like she’d gone mad. What kind of logic was that?!
“Oh? It’s not? That can’t be!” Sui Yu widened her eyes, then added, “That’s what Siyue told me. She said you like Mo Yu and are trying to steal her from your sister!”
Li Jiang: “…”
Her brows furrowed. She was clearly getting annoyed. “Who’s spreading these ridiculous rumors?!”
How could I possibly like Mo Yu?! If she ever dared try anything with Mo Yu, her sister would break her legs on the spot!
