Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 37.2
“I know,” Sui Yu sighed. “It’s just… I keep wondering. For public figures like them, the CPs fans create will only get more exaggerated over time. And when they act, they have to play romantic roles with others. If you were their real partner, how would you handle all those feelings?”
She set her phone down, cupped her cheeks with both hands, and frowned deeply. Imagine—your partner, someone you love, appearing in front of everyone, but you’re not even allowed to claim them. How do you live with that?
If I love someone, I want to love them openly. If I can’t, then it’s still just a secret crush.
“What are you even thinking about?” Shen Jueshu asked, applying hair oil to her ends. “It’s not like it has anything to do with you.”
Sui Yu protested, “Why can’t I think about it just because it’s not happening right now? Who says I won’t fall for a public figure someday?”
Shen Jueshu paused slightly. She looked up at Sui Yu’s defiant face, then lowered her gaze and said flatly, “You’re right. You’d better think it through. Prepare yourself.”
“I know, right?” Sui Yu nodded seriously.
Shen Jueshu: “…”
Sui Yu didn’t notice anything off. She lay back on the couch, crossed her legs, and began genuinely thinking it through. But still, no solution came to mind. If you truly love someone, of course you want to be acknowledged by them—not just hidden away.
Shen Jueshu watched her earnestly pondering the problem, and her expression slowly turned cold. Could it be… Sui Yu already has someone in mind? Is that why she’s saying these things?
And thinking about how Sui Yu had been doing everything she could lately to make people believe their relationship was falling apart—as if they were on the verge of divorce—it all seemed to line up.
Suddenly, the cold scent of snow—Shen Jueshu’s pheromone—erupted in the room like a wave crashing down. It filled the space with suffocating pressure.
As an Alpha highly sensitive to pheromones, Sui Yu immediately sensed something was wrong.
Without hesitation, she jumped down from the couch and rushed over to Shen Jueshu, sticking out her neck and offering her gland. “Here—bite. Don’t hold it in.”
This time, Shen Jueshu didn’t hold back. She sank her teeth into Sui Yu’s gland without a word.
“Ow—!” The scream was loud and pained.
Tears instantly welled in Sui Yu’s eyes. She tried to pull away, but Shen Jueshu held her in an iron grip. Any slight movement sent a fresh wave of pain.
“Shen Jueshu, are you crazy?!” Sui Yu cried, both angry and hurt. Her voice trembled from the pain.
How could she not tremble? She didn’t dare yell too loudly, afraid it would pull at her neck and hurt even more.
Shen Jueshu kept biting, the metallic taste of blood spreading through her mouth. In that moment, a dark thought flashed through her mind—What if I just tore it out? If she didn’t have a gland, no one would chase after her anymore.
But then, like a bucket of ice water thrown over her head, she froze.
Why would I even think something so vicious? Sui Yu hasn’t done anything wrong. So why do I want to destroy her?
She let go of the gland and stumbled back in a panic. Then she saw Sui Yu, teary-eyed and utterly miserable.
As if possessed, Shen Jueshu suddenly grabbed her, dragged her to the door, shoved her out, and slammed it shut. She leaned against it, sliding slowly to the floor, her eyes vacant.
Outside, Sui Yu clutched her bleeding neck, fuming. She stomped hard on the door. “What the hell is wrong with you?! What did I even do?!”
The pain flared again from the movement, and she gasped. I was helping you get through your heat, and this is how you repay me?!
She hadn’t said or done anything wrong, had she?
Inside, Shen Jueshu leaned against the door, her expression still dazed. She slowly raised a hand to her lips and saw the blood on her fingertips.
Panicked, she wiped it off on her clothes. Her face went pale.
How did I become like this? How am I any different now from the Sui Yu of the past?
A wave of nausea surged in her stomach. She stumbled to the bathroom, but nothing came up. Her gut twisted with cold, bitter disgust.
Tears filled her eyes. As they dripped into the sink, her fists clenched tightly against the counter.
Meanwhile, outside, Sui Yu had no choice but to head to the hospital. The gland was still bleeding, and her anger hadn’t subsided.
The doctor winced when he saw the wound and exclaimed, “What kind of grudge does this person have against you? Any deeper and your gland would be ruined!”
Sui Yu didn’t respond, her face stormy and unreadable. She wasn’t worried about damage to the gland. What she wanted to know was—What the hell did she do to deserve this from Shen Jueshu?
Even if the first time was a case of mistaken identity, they’d talked it all out since then. There was no way Shen Jueshu didn’t know who she was now! So why…?
Her chest was tight with pent-up emotion. But thinking about the woman back home, still suffering through her heat, she couldn’t bring herself to just leave her alone.
She had the doctor finish bandaging her up as quickly as possible, then, with her neck wrapped in gauze, drove back toward the house with a stone-faced scowl.
After slamming the car door shut, she rushed inside, heading straight to Shen Jueshu’s bedroom.
But strangely, the scent of pheromones in the air was unusually faint.
She banged on the door, calling out Shen Jueshu’s name.
No answer.
Her anger flared. She backed up a few steps and kicked hard at the door—again and again—until it finally burst open.
But the room was empty.
She searched every corner, but Shen Jueshu was nowhere to be found.
Panic rose in her throat. She ran out, calling her name loudly.
Only silence echoed back from the entire villa.
Where Did She Go?
She’s in heat—where the hell could she go?!
Sui Yu yanked at her hair, completely unraveling from the chaos Shen Jueshu had left behind. She immediately tried calling her, only to hear the ringtone blaring from inside Shen Jueshu’s room.
She didn’t even take her phone?!
Sui Yu genuinely felt like swearing out loud. She’s not at home, she didn’t take her phone—then where could she have possibly gone?!
Frustrated and panicked, she jumped into the car and started driving while calling Shen’s parents to ask if she had gone back to them. Not wanting them to worry, she even lied and said Shen Jueshu had gotten upset over something and stormed out.
Driving along the mountain road, Sui Yu suddenly slammed on the brakes halfway. She hit herself on the head in frustration. God, I’m so stupid—panic really does mess with your brain!
She turned the car around and raced back home, heading straight for the entrance to the basement.
The moment she opened the door, an avalanche of pheromones burst out, saturated with so much pain it felt like being flayed alive.
Sui Yu didn’t stop to think—she ran straight into the basement. That’s when she saw Shen Jueshu locked inside a glass chamber, curled up in bed, her body trembling with agony. Her clothes were disheveled, clawed at by her own hands in a desperate attempt to endure the unbearable heat.
Seeing her like this, Sui Yu’s heart clenched.
She rushed to the glass door, trying to open it—only to realize, to her shock, that her fingerprint no longer worked.
“Shen Jueshu, what the hell are you doing?!” she yelled, slamming her hands against the glass. But the room was built with top-grade bulletproof glass—there was no way she could break it.
