Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 35.1
Sui Yu’s face was full of confusion. What did she mean by “fooling around”? She had been out handling serious business!
“You can’t tarnish my reputation!” Sui Yu said with a solemn expression. “Fooling around? That’s not even my style!”
Shen Jueshu: “……”
She still had the mood to joke, which meant nothing serious had happened.
“You’ve been going to the basement a lot lately. Did you come up with something?” Shen Jueshu sat down beside her and picked up a controller to join her in a two-player match.
“Yeah, but the progress is a bit slow,” Sui Yu replied as they worked together to take down an enemy.
Shen Jueshu nodded and didn’t press further. Out of respect for Sui Yu’s work, she hadn’t reviewed the basement surveillance footage.
“How are things going with the people in the company?” Sui Yu asked casually.
“They’re not causing much of a stir for now.”
After the game ended, Sui Yu turned to face Shen Jueshu with a serious expression. “I have an idea to lure them out. Want to hear it?”
“Hmm?” Shen Jueshu gestured for her to continue.
“We pretend that I’ve rejoined the company’s management. Then we stage some arguments and a cold war over disagreements, making everyone think our relationship is falling apart and that I want to reclaim control of the company.”
“In that situation, those who resent you will likely see their chance and approach me.”
“After that, it sets the stage for our eventual divorce. When everyone already believes our relationship is on the rocks, they’ll just see it as inevitable when we do separate.”
“What do you think?” Sui Yu blinked playfully.
Shen Jueshu listened: “……”
Seeing her unresponsive, Sui Yu widened her eyes and said, “It’s the perfect way to eliminate our enemies! And it also makes our divorce appear perfectly legitimate!”
As she spoke, Sui Yu’s tone grew more cheerful. She began imagining life after the divorce. “Once we’re divorced, you’ll be free. You’ll be able to love whoever you want without worrying about me. And I might meet someone I like too—without any constraints.”
Meeting the right person at the right time is the hardest part of love.
But as she spoke, Shen Jueshu’s expression grew colder. Her grip on the controller tightened, her fingertips turning pale. In an icy tone, she said, “So this was your plan all along.”
Especially the part about the divorce—she had even thought about what came after it!
“Huh?” Sui Yu scratched her head, offering an awkward smile. “Well… I did consider it briefly before. But I’m bringing it up to get your input, see if you can help refine the plan and make it better.”
Shen Jueshu: “……”
The corner of her mouth lifted into a faint, cold smile. Her voice was emotionless as she said, “No need. It’s already perfect. We’ll do exactly as you said.”
With that, she stood up and went upstairs without sparing Sui Yu another glance.
Sui Yu stared at her retreating figure, scratching her head in confusion. Why was she suddenly upset? Shouldn’t she be glad that both problems had solutions now?
Unable to make sense of it, she shrugged it off and continued her game.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Shen Jueshu stood by the window, staring out into the dense night. Even she couldn’t figure out why that surge of anger had risen so uncontrollably when she heard Sui Yu’s proposal.
Logically, it really was a good plan—for both of them…
The next morning, Sui Yu resumed her usual busy schedule. In the afternoon, she received a call from Qin Qing, informing her that everything in the lab had been fully prepared and they could move in at any time.
Upon hearing the news, Sui Yu was overjoyed. All the licenses and certifications for the lab had been successfully processed with Shen Jueshu’s help. She had nothing to worry about—just focus on her experiments.
She first called Xia Ju and the others to begin moving in. After tying up a few loose ends, she would formally start work.
When Xia Ju and her team arrived at the lab, they found it well-equipped, though cold and rather austere.
There wasn’t even a formal launch ceremony!
Still, they took it in stride. Judging by the boss’s attitude, she didn’t seem like someone who’d waste time on such formalities. So even though Sui Yu wasn’t there, they calmly divided up tasks and got to work.
As for Sui Yu, she quickly shared her ideas with Ning Huai and the others. She explained in detail the results she wanted and enlisted some trustworthy people to monitor the work—mainly to protect Lan Xin. After all, leaving her alone among three men made Sui Yu uneasy.
Once everything was properly arranged, Sui Yu reappeared at Sui He.
She was dressed sharply in professional attire, wearing a stern expression, and went straight upstairs. She asked Qin Qing to set up an office for her next to Shen Jueshu’s, then declared that from now on, all company expenses over 50,000 yuan would require her signature for approval.
She made an entrance that could only be described as outrageously bold—demanding control over such a critical matter the moment she returned. With real power now in her hands, would those people not naturally gravitate toward her? Especially considering she was once the very leader of this company.
Her dramatic return quickly stirred waves within the company. Rumors spread fast—why had Sui Yu suddenly come back? Her actions clearly signaled a power grab from Shen Jueshu!
Even those who had once fervently “shipped” the two of them were stunned. Was their beloved couple really falling apart?
The once-loyal follower of President Shen—how had her attitude changed so drastically overnight?
“Isn’t it obvious?” said Employee A. “Do you know what kind of person our President Sui is? She’s been playing the field for years. There’s no way she’d settle down just for President Shen and ignore all the flowers blooming out there. President Sui isn’t stupid.”
“Maybe the novelty wore off,” Employee B added. “Think about it—President Shen’s always got that cold face. Sure, she’s interesting for a while, but after some time, it probably just got boring.”
“You Alphas are all awful!” a female Omega burst out, her face flushed with anger. “President Shen is a blessing to anyone she chooses. You’re just jealous!”
“We’re just being honest! Why else would President Sui treat her like this? She’s clearly lost interest!” retorted a male Alpha, puffing up his chest.
“Y-You… Shen, Shen …” The angry Omega suddenly went quiet, her voice trembling, eyes fixed on the person now standing behind the two Alphas.
The moment she spoke, both Alphas froze, too afraid to turn around.
They didn’t have to. That cold, oppressive presence could only belong to one person—Shen Jueshu.
No Omega had an aura that could chill the air like hers.
Yet Shen Jueshu didn’t comment on what she had overheard. She simply said, “Get back to work,” and walked away.
Only after she left did the two Alphas collapse into their chairs, drenched in cold sweat.
For that brief moment, they had been utterly suppressed by her pheromones. Despite being Alphas, they had felt genuine fear in front of an Omega.
From that moment on, no one dared gossip openly about Shen Jueshu and Sui Yu. The atmosphere in the office turned unnaturally quiet, broken only by the frantic tapping of keyboards and silent speculation in private group chats.
After leaving the corridor, Shen Jueshu walked to her office. Her gaze lingered on the door next to hers before she suddenly changed course—and entered Sui Yu’s office instead.
Sui Yu wasn’t surprised to see her. She poured her a glass of water, then raised an eyebrow and said with smug satisfaction, “Well? I think I acted pretty convincingly, right?”
Shen Jueshu recalled the things she had overheard earlier. Her face grew colder. Convincing? More like completely effective—everyone now thought Sui Yu had grown tired of her and was ready for a new conquest.
“What’s wrong?” Sui Yu asked, as if she had no idea what had happened. “Something troubling you today? You look upset.”
Staring at her, so clueless and unconcerned, Shen Jueshu replied with a cool, “It’s nothing.”
Sui Yu looked puzzled. This person was still as difficult to understand as ever!
Without pressing further, she casually pulled out her phone and tapped around for a bit before saying, “Things are going well today. At the meeting later, I’ll deliberately contradict you. Just put on a colder face than usual—people will totally buy that our relationship is falling apart.”
Shen Jueshu sipped her warm water silently. She didn’t respond. Sui Yu probably couldn’t wait for everyone to believe their relationship was on the rocks—so she could go “fooling around” openly.
Unbothered by the cold shoulder, Sui Yu chattered on beside her, going over all the little details. In her opinion, success always came down to the small things.
By the time she was nearly parched from talking, there was a knock at the door. Qin Qing had delivered what she ordered. Taking the items from her hands, Sui Yu closed the door and turned to Shen Jueshu with a smile.
“They say sweets are the best remedy for a bad mood. I got you some desserts—come have a bite.”
She even thoughtfully unwrapped everything and handed Shen Jueshu a fork.
