Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 34.3
After a meal at a nearby restaurant, the three returned home. Though Jiang Siyue felt much better emotionally, she still had no interest in going to the beach. For the next three days, she stayed curled up at home like a salted fish, barely moving. According to her, she needed that time to calm down—she didn’t want to bring negative energy with her into the next stage of competition.
She wanted peace. But apparently, someone didn’t want to give her that.
When she found out that Jiang Boshan had contacted the production team and demanded that she withdraw from the competition, she froze in place, stunned and motionless, like she’d lost her soul.
“It’s fine. Let him do whatever he wants. You’ve got us. What’s there to be afraid of?” Sui Yu comforted her. “The show didn’t give him any face this time. They even scolded him. Said you’re an adult now, and even if he’s your brother, he can’t interfere with your personal choices.”
“Then… I can still compete?” Jiang Siyue asked cautiously, lifting her head a little.
“Of course you can!” Sui Yu said firmly. She raised an eyebrow and gestured toward Shen Jueshu. “Your sister-in-law already saw this coming. She spoke with the producers early on. Unless you personally say you want to quit, no one else can decide for you.”
The Jiang family may be powerful, but their influence didn’t reach deep into the entertainment industry. Usually, people might give Jiang Boshan face out of courtesy. But when Shen Jueshu stepped in, everyone knew which side to pick—offending a top industry player like her was far riskier than crossing an outsider like Jiang Boshan.
Jiang Siyue turned toward Shen Jueshu, who gave her a small nod. And just like that, her composure finally broke.
Tears streamed down her face again as she choked out, “Thank you. Thank you both.”
Thank you for giving me the strength I didn’t have on my own.
“We’re family. No need for thank-yous,” Sui Yu said with a smile, patting her shoulder. “As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.” Honestly, she was cutest when she acted a little naive. This teary, fragile version of her really tugged at the heart.
“But if you two get divorced… then we won’t be a family anymore,” Jiang Siyue said in a trembling voice. “I don’t want you to get divorced. I want you two to stay together.”
She looked at them with eyes full of pleading—like a child begging her parents not to split up.
The room fell into silence. Both Sui Yu and Shen Jueshu’s expressions stiffened.
They hadn’t expected this. After all, their relationship had never been based on love to begin with. They had agreed from the start that they’d eventually divorce. How could they lie to Siyue and promise something they knew wasn’t true?
When neither of them answered, Jiang Siyue lowered her head and mumbled, “I know you won’t listen to me… I just can’t help feeling a little sad.”
She truly believed they were both good people. And to her, it was heartbreaking that two such good people might not end up together.
Sui Yu reached out and rubbed her back again. “Alright, even if we do divorce, we’ll still be friends, yeah? Then I’ll find myself a wife, and your sister-in-law here will find her own wife too. That just means you’ll have two more people doting on you. Isn’t that a win?”
Jiang Siyue sniffled and wiped her tears without replying.
But Shen Jueshu turned to look at Sui Yu. Her expression was hard to read—something complicated flickered in her eyes.
Sui Yu didn’t notice. She scratched her head, shrugged it off, and continued trying to cheer Siyue up, coaxing her until she was smiling again. After that, she sent her off to rest—tomorrow, she would be heading into a closed recording schedule. Who knew when she’d next get a peaceful night’s sleep?
Once Jiang Siyue had gone to her room, Shen Jueshu turned to Sui Yu and said, “You’re really good to her.”
Sui Yu raised her eyebrows and grinned. “You’ve said something like that before.”
Her expression softened, then grew distant. “Honestly… besides feeling close to her, she reminds me a lot of my sister.”
At the mention of her sister, Sui Yu’s face became gentle—then suddenly pained. Her nose stung, her eyes grew red.
Shen Jueshu was quiet for a moment, then asked softly, “What happened to your sister?”
Sui Yu looked up at her, lips curling into a bitter smile. Her voice was faint as she said, “She died.”
“She jumped off a building.”
Her blood had splattered all over me.
Shen Jueshu fell completely silent.
She didn’t know what to say, didn’t know how to comfort her. It was she who had unknowingly touched a deep wound—but now, her throat felt stuck. No words would come.
Neither of them said anything. Sui Yu raised a trembling hand and covered her eyes with her palm. Tears slipped between her fingers as she curled in on herself, folding like a child trying to disappear.
It had been years, but every time she thought of it, the grief returned—raw and relentless.
They had grown up together in the orphanage. That girl had been more than just a sister to her; she was her only family, her only friend.
Eventually, Shen Jueshu released her calming pheromones into the air, letting the gentle wave soothe Sui Yu’s nerves. She said nothing—just quietly stayed by her side.
The room was silent. But in that silence, their hearts felt closer than they had ever been before.
The next day.
Both Sui Yu and Shen Jueshu personally drove Jiang Siyue to the recording site. At the entrance, they ran into Li Yi and her group, who had come to drop off Mo Yu.
The two parties exchanged brief greetings.
Li Jiang’s eyes fell on Jiang Siyue. Something about her seemed off—her energy wasn’t right. She looked a little too quiet, a little too heavy.
It bothered her.
Siyue was usually so full of energy, always smiling. It was rare to see her like this.
“Director Li, don’t keep staring. She’s already gone,” Sui Yu said lightly, her tone vaguely sarcastic.
Li Jiang turned to Sui Yu, unfazed. Her brows furrowed slightly. “What’s wrong with her? She didn’t look like herself today.”
Sui Yu rolled her eyes. “What’s it to you? You care now?”
Then she turned on her heel and walked away.
Back when Jiang Siyue was crying her heart out for her, where was Li Jiang’s concern then?
Now that Siyue wasn’t paying her any mind, suddenly she cared?
Li Jiang’s face stiffened slightly. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. It was Li Yi who stepped forward and patted her on the shoulder. Only then did she snap out of it and silently follow her sister away.
On the other side, as Jiang Siyue and the others turned to leave, their mood also visibly dipped.
“You look kind of down. What’s bothering you?” Mo Yu asked.
“Oh, I’m just sad I won’t have A-Yu and Sister-in-law around to spoil me with good food and fun anymore,” Jiang Siyue replied.
“And what about you?” she asked in return. “You don’t look so happy either.”
Mo Yu’s shoulders slumped. “It’s because I won’t be able to see my sister freely for a while…”
Seeing her look like a little puppy drenched in the rain, Jiang Siyue reached out and put an arm around her shoulders, doing her best to lift the mood. “Then that just means we need to work even harder! We’ve already come this far. We’ve sacrificed so much—we can’t leave without a solid result!”
Hearing that, Mo Yu straightened up and nodded seriously. “Right!”
The two broke into smiles just as a familiar voice called from behind. They turned to see Tang Wan dragging her suitcase and running toward them. All three girls were soon grinning brightly.
Meanwhile, Sui Yu and Shen Jueshu arrived at the company. By now, everyone had noticed how frequently Sui Yu was showing up, and rumors were starting to circulate. Aside from Qin Qing, no one knew that the lab upstairs was being built specifically for her.
Her regular visits had started to stir up certain people’s curiosity, but Sui Yu paid no attention to any of it. After checking on the lab’s progress and nodding in satisfaction, she headed downstairs to find Shen Jueshu and asked her for the contact info of the director of her talent agency.
