Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 34.2
He hesitated for a moment, then stepped out of the car with a pleasant smile. “Of course. I just want to have a quick word with Siyue. I’ll be brief.”
Before anyone could stop him, he reached out and grabbed Jiang Siyue’s wrist. Though his grip looked gentle, it was firm—impossible to pull away from easily. He led her a few steps away from the others.
Once he was sure no one could hear, his tone changed completely.
“This is nonsense,” he said sharply. “Who gave you permission to join the entertainment industry? Singing and dancing on stage—do you have any idea how embarrassing that is for our family?”
Jiang Siyue’s expression turned cold. “Why is it nonsense? Why is it embarrassing to follow my passion? I’m not hurting anyone.”
“You call getting on stage to sing and dance for strangers a real passion?” Jiang Boshan’s eyes narrowed. “You’re making a spectacle of yourself like some kind of performer at a carnival.”
“Brother! How can you say that?” she shot back. “This is my life! It’s what I want to do!”
“You want to live like that? On display for others to watch? I can’t believe you’d stoop to this.”
“I’m not stooping to anything,” she snapped. “If I weren’t doing this, I’d still be wasting time at nightclubs and parties. Compared to that, isn’t this better? At least I’m doing something meaningful.”
“You—” Jiang Boshan’s face darkened further. He inhaled slowly, then said in a lower, firmer voice, “You’re not a child anymore. It’s time to start thinking about marriage. The Li family’s son is a beta, but he’s honest, capable, and expected to inherit the family business. If you marry him, you’ll have a comfortable, stable life.”
Jiang Siyue stared at him in disbelief. A chill rose from the pit of her stomach. “You want to use me for a marriage alliance?”
“I’m doing what’s best for you,” Jiang Boshan said flatly.
“I don’t agree!” she snapped. “I don’t even know him, and I don’t care to! I just want to live my life the way I want to!”
“That’s not your choice to make,” he said. “The engagement with the Li family has already been discussed. Once your little beach trip is over, you’re coming home. And you’re quitting that ridiculous show.”
Jiang Siyue trembled with anger. She couldn’t understand—why couldn’t they just leave her alone?
“I’m not quitting!” she said through clenched teeth. “I’ve finally found something I love. I’m not giving it up for anyone.”
Jiang Boshan narrowed his eyes. “Don’t forget, Jiang Siyue—you’re living off the Jiang family’s money. You enjoy our resources, our name, our protection. That means you owe us something in return.”
Jiang Siyue felt like she’d been thrown into a bucket of ice water—her entire body shivering from the cold. She stared at her brother and bit out, “I’m not marrying that Li family son.”
“Jiang Siyue! Do you really think anyone still wants you, acting the way you do now?” Jiang Boshan was visibly losing patience. “The Li family is doing you a favor by being willing to marry you! You’re lucky they’d even consider it.”
He clearly believed she had no self-awareness. In his eyes, no Alpha would want someone like her. And she still had the nerve to be picky?
Jiang Siyue abruptly turned and walked away. She didn’t want to argue anymore. She was afraid that if she stayed even a second longer, she’d completely lose control.
Seeing her retreat, Jiang Boshan narrowed his eyes dangerously and warned, “If you walk away now, don’t expect to spend another cent of Jiang family money!”
Jiang Siyue’s body tensed—but then she kept walking, each step firm and decisive. All she left behind was the image of her unwavering back.
Jiang Boshan let out a quiet laugh as he watched her go, but his smile didn’t reach his eyes. They grew colder. Not bad. At least she was finally showing some spine.
When Jiang Siyue returned to Sui Yu and Shen Jueshu, her expression made it clear that something was wrong. They didn’t need to ask. After a glance at Jiang Boshan standing in the distance, they said nothing and quietly led her away.
Back in Sui Yu’s car, Jiang Siyue still felt frozen inside. Her hands trembled, and she couldn’t stop shivering.
Seeing this, Shen Jueshu told Sui Yu to get in the back seat with her, then climbed into the driver’s seat and started the engine.
Sui Yu opened a bottle of water and handed it to Jiang Siyue, who took it and drank in small sips. But as she drank, tears silently rolled down her cheeks. She choked out, “I’ve already done everything they wanted… why won’t they just leave me alone?”
The more she spoke, the more her emotions cracked. Her tears fell faster, and she completely broke down.
Seeing her like this made Sui Yu’s heart ache. She gently rubbed Siyue’s back to calm her, and softly asked, “What did he say to you?”
Jiang Siyue wiped her tears with the back of her hand, and with a fragile voice full of frustration, said, “He wants me to marry the Li family’s son.”
“He even threatened to cut me off financially.”
Sui Yu’s eyes widened. She stared at her in disbelief. “He actually said that?”
As far as she knew, Jiang Siyue’s parents were still alive. How could her brother just make that kind of decision?
“I’m sure my bank cards are already frozen,” Jiang Siyue said between sniffles.
Sui Yu winced. Just as she was about to say something, Shen Jueshu beat her to it. “And your parents are okay with him treating you like this?”
Sui Yu immediately shot her a thankful look. Given the original host’s background with Jiang Siyue, she might’ve been expected to know some of these family details. It was safer if someone else asked.
“They trust him more than anyone,” Jiang Siyue said bitterly. “No matter what he does, they think he’s doing it for my own good.”
Her hands were clenched tightly into fists. Her face was pale, her jaw tight. There was fear in her eyes—but also a burning hatred.
Sui Yu exchanged a look with Shen Jueshu in the rearview mirror. Neither of them had ever seen Jiang Siyue like this before. Clearly, Jiang Boshan was far from a simple character.
“It’s okay,” Sui Yu said gently, rubbing her friend’s head. “Whatever you want to do, we’ve got your back.”
Then she smiled a little and raised an eyebrow. “Did you forget about me? Need money? That’s easy. I’ll wire you a hundred million. If that’s not enough, just let me know.”
Now that Sui Yu fully understood her financial situation, she could say that with confidence. Since coming to this world, if there was one thing she wasn’t lacking, it was money. The original host had left her with a fortune—not only in cash, but also in various profitable investments. She could live off the interest comfortably for the rest of her life.
With her and Jiang Siyue being so close, Sui Yu never worried about money between them.
Still sniffling, Jiang Siyue shook her head and said—her voice still carrying the rawness of crying, “No… don’t give me that much at once. I won’t spend it all. Just send me ten million first. The rest—let Sister-in-law invest it.”
Sui Yu: “…”
Shen Jueshu, hearing this: “…”
Neither had expected Jiang Siyue to be this practical. Hearing her talk about maximizing return on funds made Sui Yu feel a little embarrassed. She had so much money just sitting in her accounts collecting interest. The truth was, she didn’t understand investments at all. Asking her to invest would be like asking a cat to build a rocket. It was safer to just let the money sit there.
After all, in her previous life, there was a saying: 99% of retail investors don’t actually make money. What they were trading weren’t stocks—it was their own dreams, chopped up and served as someone else’s profits. Bright green “leeks” ready to be harvested.
Sui Yu looked at Shen Jueshu, eyes shining. “You think… maybe you could handle the investments?”
And maybe manage her money too, while they were at it. With Shen Jueshu’s brain, it would be a waste not to let her take charge of the funds.
Shen Jueshu: “…”
These two really didn’t understand the concept of financial risk, huh?
Still, when she saw their hopeful eyes staring at her, she eventually gave a quiet nod. “Fine.”
Better to keep the money under her control anyway. That way, maybe she could slow down their inevitable urge to spend like lunatics.
“Waaah, you’re the best, Sister-in-law!” Jiang Siyue sobbed dramatically.
“Waaah! Wifey, how can you be so amazing?!” Sui Yu wailed dramatically from the backseat.
Veins twitched visibly on Shen Jueshu’s forehead. She gritted her teeth and hissed, “Shut up.”
Instantly, the two in the back shrank like frightened quails.
Still, after that bit of chaos, Jiang Siyue’s mood was visibly better. The rarest comfort in life is having someone who gives you strength when you’re at your lowest. And Jiang Siyue felt lucky—she had that kind of person by her side.
