Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 33.2
Seeing her so honest, Li Yi reached out to pat her on the head, then looked up and met Sui Yu’s gaze.
She looked surprised—clearly not expecting to run into Sui Yu here.
Sui Yu was just as surprised. She hadn’t thought Li Yi would come visit the studio today. The first thing she did was glance behind her, only to frown a little—Li Jiang wasn’t here? That clingy sister didn’t tag along this time?
Li Yi led Mo Yu over to the group and greeted them politely. “Long time no see, Miss Sui.” Then she nodded to Jiang Siyue and sat down beside Mo Yu.
Now there were four of them at the table. Jiang Siyue and Mo Yu were chatting without a care, but Sui Yu and Li Yi were quietly observing each other, keeping their smiles polite as they made small talk.
What caught Sui Yu’s attention was how often Li Yi glanced at Jiang Siyue, like she was trying to read something off her.
That felt off. As far as Sui Yu knew, Li Yi didn’t have any particular connection to Jiang Siyue. The only possible link was Li Jiang. Could it be that Li Yi was only paying attention because of her sister?
Sui Yu’s expression darkened slightly. She knew exactly how her own sister felt about Jiang Siyue. What was this—was she trying to stir something up again?
But to Li Yi, that shift in Sui Yu’s expression looked more like displeasure—like she was annoyed that Li Yi was looking at Jiang Siyue so much. Was it true, then? Was there something going on between Sui Yu and Jiang Siyue, just like the rumors said?
“Miss Sui, if you don’t mind me asking, how’s your relationship with Miss Shen?”
Sui Yu raised an eyebrow. Where did that question come from? But then it clicked. Her expression turned even colder. Was Li Yi here on behalf of Li Jiang, trying to gather intel on her and Shen Jueshu?
After all, the original story did say Li Jiang had feelings for Shen Jueshu.
She smiled calmly. “We’re doing great. We just got back from seeing her parents, actually. They even asked us to visit more often for dinner.”
In truth, it had been Shen Jueshu who said she should spend more time with her parents. Sui Yu was just tagging along.
“Is that so? Then you really are lucky, Miss Sui.” Li Yi smiled softly. “Miss Shen is such an outstanding Omega. Many people admire her. It’s wonderful that the two of you are in a stable relationship.”
Sui Yu nodded with a smile, but inside, she was wondering what Li Yi’s real motive was. Her tone sounded sincere, but her expression felt a little too calm—too measured.
“Sui Yu, you really went to meet her parents?” Jiang Siyue’s eyes lit up. Meeting the parents—that was huge! Was a confession and official relationship status far behind?
Sui Yu looked at her in mild disbelief. “Yeah. We left her parents’ place, I dropped your sister-in-law off at work, and then I came to see you.”
“Why didn’t you go with her to work?” Jiang Siyue asked, sounding genuinely disappointed.
Wasn’t this the perfect time to stick close to the one you love?
Sui Yu: “…”
She’d already gone with Shen Jueshu to work for two days straight. People at the office were starting to look at her like she was Shen Jueshu’s loyal sidekick!
“Why are you so excited about this?” Sui Yu asked, squinting at her suspiciously. “You seem really into my love life with Shen Jueshu.”
Jiang Siyue froze: “…”
“It’s normal for a friend to care,” Li Yi said at just the right moment, stepping in to save Jiang Siyue from the awkwardness. Jiang Siyue gave her a thankful look.
Li Yi smiled quietly to herself.
“Oh,” Sui Yu responded, still feeling like something was off.
“Would you like to go out for a coffee?” Li Yi asked with a warm smile.
Sui Yu looked at her for a moment and then shook her head. “Let’s not. We brought all this food—might as well stay here and enjoy it.”
“That works too.” Li Yi nodded and gently brushed a strand of hair behind Mo Yu’s ear.
Mo Yu smiled sweetly at her.
Sui Yu watched the two of them. Were they not worried at all about people noticing? Mo Yu was trying to debut as an idol. Was it really okay for her to be seen like this?
Li Yi met Sui Yu’s gaze and immediately understood what she was thinking. She gave a small, calm laugh. “People won’t think anything of it.”
They were both Omegas. In this society, Omega–Omega relationships were rare. Most people didn’t even see them. They were invisible—on the edges.
Sui Yu went quiet. Looking at Li Yi and Mo Yu, she was reminded of lesbian couples in real life. Compared to gay men, lesbians got so little visibility. They were often ignored, pushed to the side, or even actively disliked.
Some people were fine with gay men, but still looked down on or rejected lesbians—sometimes harshly.
Every time Sui Yu saw that kind of bias, she felt confused. Why such a double standard? Gay or lesbian, wasn’t it all the same?
This world had one more layer—secondary genders—but even so, discrimination still existed. Just more quietly.
Seeing the sudden silence, Li Yi gently rubbed Mo Yu’s head and smiled. “But it’s okay. As long as we’re happy, that’s all that matters.”
She knew the life she wanted—with the person she loved. And for anyone who looked down on them, living well was the best answer.
Mo Yu leaned against her hand and smiled up at her.
“You’re right. I hope you two can always stay this happy,” Sui Yu said sincerely.
“Thank you,” Li Yi replied, her gaze lingering on Sui Yu. Somehow, she couldn’t connect the real Sui Yu to the image she’d heard about from others.
Jiang Siyue, still sipping her bubble tea, glanced around the table at all the paired-up people… and suddenly realized:
She was the only one still single!
Letting out a dramatic sigh, she flicked her bangs aside and muttered, “I guess I really am the only one cut out to be a proper idol…”
Her tone was filled with exaggerated confidence—after all, she didn’t have any secret relationships to worry about.
Hearing how self-assured she sounded, everyone turned to look at her. Li Yi glanced down, hiding a smile. She truly couldn’t understand how someone as cute as Sui Yu had gone unnoticed by Li Jiang. What kind of spell had clouded her sister’s judgment?
Li Yi let out a quiet sigh, recalling the last time Sui Yu’s car broke down and she had asked Li Jiang to give her a ride. The reluctance on Li Jiang’s face had been obvious. Clearly, her attitude back then had hurt Sui Yu more than anyone realized.
After chatting for a while, the girls needed to get back to practice. The competition was just around the corner, and none of them dared to slack off. Just before they started, Mo Yu clung to Li Yi’s hand, eyes full of anticipation. “Sis, can you pick me up tonight?”
Seeing her girl look so sweet and hopeful, Li Yi smiled. “Of course I will.”
Watching them act all lovey-dovey, Sui Yu and Jiang Siyue both made exaggerated cringing faces. It was hard to believe anyone could say such cheesy things with a straight face.
Li Yi glanced at the two of them and chuckled softly. She eventually left the practice room with Sui Yu. The two stood outside the glass doors, looking back at the group inside, their expressions full of emotion.
Li Yi felt proud of Mo Yu.
Sui Yu felt comforted seeing how hard Jiang Siyue was working.
One stood there with the pride of a lover, the other with the heart of a doting mom.
After leaving the agency, Sui Yu stopped by Suihe to check on the lab’s progress. Many of the machines and equipment had already arrived, and the lab would be up and running soon.
For now, including herself, there were only five people on the team. Two of them had been recommended by Xia Yu and Wang Yue. After confirming their qualifications, Sui Yu brought them on board.
Five people might sound small, but for a lab that was just starting out, it was enough.
Friday. The day of Jiang Siyue’s competition.
Since Sui Yu had promised to be there, she got up early, dressed carefully, and grabbed the fan support items she had prepared especially for Siyue.
