Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 33.1
When Shen Jueshu said those words, Sui Yu was completely stunned. She stared at Shen Jueshu in disbelief—how had she suddenly become the Shen family’s daughter-in-law?
But Shen Jueshu didn’t look at her. Instead, in a spot hidden from her parents’ sight, she gave Sui Yu a quick pinch on the waist, signaling her to calm down.
Sui Yu: “…”
She forced a smile onto her face, lowered her head slightly, and leaned in toward Shen Jueshu, trying to look shy and sweet.
Mr. and Mrs. Shen looked at her: “…”
Shen Jueshu cleared her throat, hinting to Sui Yu not to overact.
The look in Mr. and Mrs. Shen’s eyes grew complicated as they stared at Sui Yu. They had to admit that the fact Shen Jueshu had been marked by her did slightly improve their impression. After all, for an Alpha to willingly be marked by an Omega—it was a pretty clear sign of commitment.
Their expressions finally softened a little. Since their daughter had marked Sui Yu, it meant she had the ability to control her. Sui Yu probably wouldn’t be able to do anything out of line now.
From then on, Sui Yu just sat quietly to the side, watching the Shen family chat away, acting like she was invisible. Honestly, she felt like one of those poor sons-in-law who never get any attention from their in-laws.
At lunch, probably because of the marking and because Shen Jueshu had told them to be nicer to their daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Shen finally asked Sui Yu what she liked to eat. The housekeeper then made a few dishes based on her preferences.
Still, aside from two dishes, everything else was clearly what Shen Jueshu liked.
Sui Yu enjoyed spicy food, and even though they tried to cater to her taste, the Shen household didn’t use chili at all. So, the flavor wasn’t quite right. But Mr. and Mrs. Shen didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong.
Maybe in their minds, just making something for her was already being generous. She shouldn’t be picky.
Shen Jueshu looked at the bland food in Sui Yu’s bowl. Knowing her taste, she understood why Sui Yu was eating so slowly. But there was nothing she could do about it here—not even a single bottle of chili sauce in the whole house.
After the meal, they sat and chatted for a while longer. Then Shen Jueshu finally took Sui Yu and left. Since they were still putting on a show, Shen Jueshu took the initiative to hold Sui Yu’s hand as they walked out. Once outside the gate, she whispered, “Thank you.”
“Huh?” Sui Yu blinked in confusion. Why was she thanking her out of the blue?
Shen Jueshu didn’t explain. She looked up at the clear blue sky and gave a small smile. She was just thankful—if Sui Yu hadn’t pulled her back today, she probably wouldn’t have found the courage to come home at all.
On the drive back, Shen Jueshu offered to drive. When the car finally stopped, Sui Yu looked out at a restaurant, full of question marks in her head. Why were they here? Did Shen Jueshu not eat enough at home?
“Let’s go. You barely ate anything,” Shen Jueshu said, getting out first and heading inside.
Seeing her like that, Sui Yu quickly followed. She couldn’t stop the smile tugging at her lips. She caught up and teased, “So you were worried I didn’t eat enough and brought me out on purpose, huh?”
Back at the Shen house, Shen Jueshu hadn’t looked at her much, so Sui Yu hadn’t expected her to notice how little she’d eaten.
Shen Jueshu didn’t bother to deny it or tease her back. She just stayed quiet, letting Sui Yu’s excitement show all over her face like a puppy wagging its tail.
Sui Yu didn’t mind the silence. She just smiled and followed Shen Jueshu, letting her handle the ordering. She sat across from her, resting her chin in her hands and watching her with a soft gaze. Right then, Shen Jueshu seemed absolutely captivating.
“Shen Jueshu, you’re so beautiful,” Sui Yu said sincerely. Everything about her—her movements, her expressions—had a way of drawing people in. She was impossible to look away from.
Shen Jueshu shot her a side glance and said coolly, “Keep staring and I’ll gouge your eyes out.”
Sui Yu: “…”
Beautiful, but deadly.
Still, once the food arrived, Sui Yu’s mood brightened again—it was all her favorite dishes.
Shen Jueshu sat across from her, watching her eat so happily. She looked away, but the corner of her lips curled up just slightly.
Sui Yu was like a child—give her something sweet, and she’d beam with joy.
With her stomach full, Sui Yu looked at Shen Jueshu and liked her even more. Even though she seemed distant, she was actually thoughtful. No wonder she was the female lead Sui Yu liked so much!
After the meal, Sui Yu dropped Shen Jueshu off at her office, then went to visit Jiang Siyue at her training studio. She felt like a worried mom checking in—her “kid” had been away for days, and she was really afraid Siyue might get bullied or overwhelmed.
When she showed up at the practice room with bags of snacks and drinks, everyone turned to look at her.
“Sui Yu!” Jiang Siyue was the first to speak, full of excitement as she rushed over and grabbed the bubble tea from her hands. She immediately picked one for herself, took a sip, then called the others over to share.
Sui Yu: “…”
She really did feel like a food delivery driver now.
With a helpless smile, she placed the snacks on the table and invited everyone, “Hi, I’m Sui Yu—Siyue’s friend. I hope I didn’t interrupt your practice.”
The others were happy to dig in and shook their heads, assuring her it was their break time anyway.
As Sui Yu glanced around, she noticed one person who hadn’t come over. At first, she didn’t recognize her, but after a closer look, she was shocked—it was Mo Yu!
The difference between her onstage and offstage appearance was huge!
Sui Yu picked up a cup of bubble tea and walked over to her. “Why don’t you come get something to eat?” she asked, offering the drink.
Mo Yu had been zoning out in a corner. When she noticed Sui Yu, she looked over at her, then glanced at Jiang Siyue happily sipping tea behind her. After hesitating for a second, she took the drink and softly said, “Thank you.”
Sui Yu looked at the quiet, gentle girl in front of her. Compared to the bold, powerful presence she had onstage, it was like looking at two completely different people. She couldn’t wrap her head around it.
“Sui Yu, you think Mo Yu’s personality offstage is super different too, right?” Jiang Siyue came over and plopped down beside Mo Yu, throwing an arm around her shoulders. “I was totally shocked the first time I saw this side of her too!”
Mo Yu blushed and gave a shy smile as everyone talked about her. She looked a little embarrassed but also genuinely happy.
Seeing how naturally they all interacted, Sui Yu could tell they got along well. She couldn’t help but smile, feeling a bit like a proud parent—relieved that her “kid” had found good friends.
“How’s training going? You’re not going to mess up tomorrow, are you?” Sui Yu casually sat cross-legged across from them, resting her chin in her palm as she asked.
Jiang Siyue gave her a dramatic side-eye. “Don’t jinx it, okay? I’m going to crush it, pass every round, debut, and then let Mo Yu carry me to stardom!”
Mo Yu smiled shyly, sipping from her straw.
Sui Yu: “…”
Wow, look at you aiming high.
Suddenly, the sound of voices came from the door. Everyone turned to look and saw a graceful woman walk in with more snacks, prompting excited chatter—clearly, today was a lucky day for food.
Mo Yu’s eyes lit up the moment she saw who it was. She stood up quickly and went over to greet her.
Li Yi smiled as her girl came over. After handing the snacks to others, she stepped forward and gently took Mo Yu’s hand. She was careful not to do anything too affectionate in front of the others, but she still quietly asked, “Did you miss me?”
Mo Yu beamed and nodded without hesitation.
