Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 32.3
“Don’t look at me like I’ve lost my way,” Li Yi said with a chuckle. Her little sister had always been responsible, even overly mature—always taking care of those she deemed worthy.
Even though Li Jiang was the youngest among them, she always worried the most.
“Jie, you’re like someone who’s completely drunk on love,” Li Jiang muttered, shaking her head. She would never let someone affect her emotions that much.
“You don’t understand,” Li Yi said with a soft, affectionate smile. “You’ve never been loved—so you wouldn’t know what it feels like.”
When you truly loved someone, your heart and mind were entirely tied to them. Everything they did seemed magnified, and everything about them became impossibly lovable.
Li Jiang: “…” Was that a personal attack?
Li Yi raised an eyebrow. “Didn’t you used to like the Jiang family’s third daughter? You used to come home talking about how cute she was. Why don’t you talk to her anymore?”
At that, Li Jiang’s expression darkened, and she turned away stiffly. “I never said she was cute. I just said her dancing was okay.”
Li Yi smiled knowingly. “Alright, alright. If you say so. But you never told me why you stopped talking to her. I saw her at the show the other day—she seemed like a sweet girl.”
There was something about Jiang Siyue that reminded her of Mo Yu. That same purity, like an untainted pearl.
Li Jiang was quiet for a moment before muttering, “We didn’t have much of a connection to begin with. I barely spoke to her that whole semester. I doubt she even remembers I was her classmate.”
Li Yi pressed, “Then why were you so cold to her later, when she tried to approach you?”
Li Jiang gave her an exasperated look. “Why are you suddenly bringing her up? We’re just… not the same kind of people. Nothing to talk about.”
“Is that so?” Li Yi looked thoughtful, sensing there was more to the story. But it seemed Li Jiang wasn’t going to share.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the meeting room, Sui Yu had finally grown bored of her phone. She propped her chin in her hand and quietly watched Shen Jueshu instead.
Strangely enough, she found that Shen Jueshu’s presence during a meeting was even more magnetic than when she was working in the office. With her full professional aura on display, she was completely commanding—no wonder the others looked so tense around her.
Sui Yu found it amusing to see all these high-level execs acting like mice in front of a cat.
She had been on the receiving end of Shen Jueshu’s cold face enough times that she’d developed a bit of resistance. While everyone else looked terrified, she had the leisure to admire her beauty.
And she had to admit—Shen Jueshu really lived up to the title of “female lead.” That face was flawless. Sui Yu had never seen anyone more stunning. If someone said she was the most beautiful woman in the world, Sui Yu wouldn’t even argue.
As she watched Shen Jueshu, Sui Yu suddenly felt a twinge of regret. Someone as outstanding as Shen Jueshu—even more capable than many Alphas—had ended up differentiating as an Omega. It wasn’t that being an Omega was inherently bad, but if she had been an Alpha, the opportunities available to her would’ve multiplied many times over.
She could’ve reached the top faster than anyone else.
Sigh… Sui Yu let out a subconscious sigh.
She even thought, if only she could switch places with Shen Jueshu. Compared to herself, Shen Jueshu really did seem more suited to being an Alpha. Just look—an Omega so well-versed in Alpha responsibilities, while she, a literal Alpha, was the one getting bitten by an Omega. Honestly, it was a little pathetic.
Suddenly, the entire conference room fell silent. All eyes turned toward Sui Yu—clearly, they had all heard her sigh and assumed she had something to say.
Sui Yu: “…It’s nothing. You all continue.”
She silently leaned back in her chair.
Shen Jueshu merely glanced at her, then calmly instructed the previous speaker to continue.
When the meeting finally ended, Sui Yu felt like her backside was sore from sitting so long. She had always hated meetings the most—too stiff, no freedom to move.
As the others filtered out, Shen Jueshu tidied up her documents and asked, “What were you sighing about earlier?”
“Ah—n-nothing.” Sui Yu was slightly embarrassed. She didn’t expect Shen Jueshu to actually follow up on that.
Besides, she wasn’t about to confess that she thought Shen Jueshu was more suited to being an Alpha. Just imagining the cold look she’d get in response was enough to make her shut her mouth.
Since Sui Yu didn’t answer, Shen Jueshu simply gave her a glance and didn’t press further. She turned and walked out.
Back in the office, Shen Jueshu suddenly recalled Jiang Siyue’s request. After a brief sigh, she asked, “Are you free this Friday? Siyue’s show is starting taping—she wants both of us to go watch her competition.”
Shen Jueshu looked up at her. “You’re not the real Sui Yu. How did you get along with Jiang Siyue so well?”
Siyue had been friends with the original Sui Yu—so hadn’t she noticed that this “Sui Yu” had changed?
Sui Yu scratched her head, genuinely puzzled. “I can’t really explain it either. I just feel comfortable around her. We can talk about anything without it being awkward. It’s like we’ve been friends for years.”
“And she… well, she looks clever, but she’s actually kind of a silly sweetheart.”
Shen Jueshu, having interacted with Jiang Siyue herself, couldn’t help but agree a little with that assessment.
“She was so close with the original Sui Yu, though. Isn’t it strange she hasn’t noticed anything different about you?” Shen Jueshu asked, slightly doubtful.
“She seems… surprisingly okay with my changes?” Sui Yu replied, uncertain. “It’s like she thinks I’ve always been this way.”
Shen Jueshu: “…”
“So… are you free or not? If not, I’ll let her know.”
“Too busy,” Shen Jueshu said as she lowered her head and resumed her work. It’s just a competition. What’s the point in going?
Sui Yu: “…”
See? Didn’t I say she’d never agree to anything I ask?
Sighing, she slowly took out her phone and messaged Jiang Siyue, apologizing and saying she couldn’t make it. At most, she’d hire a few more people to cheer for her so she wouldn’t look like she had too few fans.
That day, Sui Yu followed Shen Jueshu through one task after another, working like a shadow. By the time they finally left work, she let out a long sigh of relief. Even though Shen Jueshu’s pheromones helped alleviate her heat-related pain, Sui Yu still had to exert all her remaining rationality to keep her own pheromones from leaking out and affecting others. It was exhausting.
When they got home, the housekeeper had already finished preparing dinner. The sight of warm, freshly cooked food on the table made Sui Yu feel unexpectedly emotional.
Back then, when I came home, there was never anything warm waiting for me. The house was always cold and empty. If I was hungry, I’d just make some instant noodles to get by. I never saw the point in cooking.
After all, who cooks proper meals when eating alone? Cook too much, and it goes to waste. Cook too little, and it’s not satisfying.
“Miss Jiang’s not coming home again tonight?” Shen Jueshu asked casually as they sat down at the table.
“Did you forget I’m still in my susceptibility phase? She’s been keeping her distance for days,” Sui Yu replied with a dramatic eye roll. She figured Jiang Siyue was just being overly cautious. Truth be told, Sui Yu had never felt anything remotely romantic toward her.
Even her pheromones didn’t evoke the slightest reaction.
When an Alpha felt nothing toward an Omega’s pheromones, it meant there was no chance of any physical attraction. Shen Jueshu fell silent.
Seeing her quiet, Sui Yu gave her a knowing look and said, “Don’t tell me you’re thinking you should’ve just not come back last night?”
Shen Jueshu: “…”
…She hit the nail on the head.
“How could you be so heartless!” Sui Yu cried in mock outrage, rapping her knuckles against the table like she was delivering a courtroom verdict. “Comrade Shen, I hope you have a sense of responsibility! You marked me—don’t think you can just walk away! Running from your problems solves nothing!”
Unbelievable. Where was this restraint when she marked me?
Shen Jueshu: “…” Never thought she’d one day be lectured like this.
Sui Yu snorted and knocked on the table again, this time right in front of her. “Comrade Shen, if you dare to do it, then you’d better dare to face it. Don’t let others look down on you!”
Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but wonder—ever since they’d cleared the air between them, had Sui Yu gotten bolder? Was her softened attitude making Sui Yu more and more audacious?
After dinner, Shen Jueshu went back to work. Sui Yu lounged for a bit to digest, then went upstairs to shower and came back down to lean against her side again. Anyone who didn’t know better would think the two of them were in a close, loving relationship. But in truth, Sui Yu was just addicted to Shen Jueshu’s pheromones.
