Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 32.1
“Shen Jueshu, are you blushing?”
Sui Yu looked absolutely incredulous. Shen Jueshu? Blushing? Was that even possible? And what would she have to be embarrassed about?
Hearing this, Shen Jueshu suddenly turned around and shot her a frosty look. “What did you just say?”
Unfazed, Sui Yu repeated it, even more boldly this time, “Your ears are red. So… you’re blushing, right?”
Shen Jueshu gave a cold smirk. “If there’s something wrong with your eyes, go book an appointment with ophthalmology. And don’t let your imagination run wild.”
Sui Yu: “…” She insulted me!
Not wanting to argue further, Sui Yu picked up the folder and started flipping through it with a quiet hum, refusing to give Shen Jueshu even the slightest glance.
Seeing her like this, Shen Jueshu didn’t bother responding either. She returned to her desk and resumed working through the rest of her paperwork.
At one point, Qin Qing came in with a few more documents for her to sign. Apart from that, it was just the two of them in the office. Compared to their previous confrontational interactions, their current dynamic was surprisingly harmonious.
“Hmm? What’s this supposed to mean?” Sui Yu suddenly spoke up while reading through the documents. She waved her over and said, “Come here. I don’t really get what she means by this.”
Seeing her so confused, Shen Jueshu walked over and looked at the line Sui Yu was pointing to. It was part of a speech Sui Yu had given as the valedictorian at her high school graduation.
She had said:
As someone created by a higher power, there are many things in life that may seem beyond our control. But being difficult to change doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. Only by making the attempt will we know the outcome. For that, I will give it my all—even if it costs me my life.
At first glance, there was nothing particularly odd about this statement. But placed in the context of the original Sui Yu, it felt… a little off.
Based on what the novel described, the original Sui Yu didn’t seem like someone who would make such an inspiring declaration.
Shen Jueshu stared at the line in contemplation. Clearly, she also felt that this wasn’t something the Sui Yu she had known at the time would have said.
But it was Sui Yu herself who found it even more jarring. She touched the page lightly, thoughts wandering. Did the original Sui Yu already know something back then? Was that why she said this?
“Ah—!”
Suddenly, Sui Yu clutched her head in pain, the folder slipping from her hands and falling to the floor. Her face turned pale, and cold sweat soaked her forehead. Fragments of memory began flashing in her mind—but no matter how hard she tried to see them clearly, she couldn’t.
“What’s wrong?” Shen Jueshu asked, frowning as she quickly moved to restrain Sui Yu’s hands, which were now repeatedly hitting her own head.
Sweat ran down Sui Yu’s temples, dampening her bangs. She looked up at Shen Jueshu, and just as her heat cycle surged again, she lunged forward, pressing Shen Jueshu beneath her and baring her teeth toward her gland, eyes bloodshot with desire.
“Sui Yu!” Shen Jueshu shouted coldly, trying to hold her head back. But her heart was already sinking.
That look in Sui Yu’s eyes—it reminded her of the past, of the basement, of the original Sui Yu. The same crazed look, the same possessive madness. In that moment, the woman on top of her overlapped with the one from before.
A horrifying thought crept into her mind. Was everything Sui Yu had said just a lie? Was this all an act? Or… maybe she really had lost her memory—and what just happened was her true nature slipping out?
Her entire body went cold.
If that were true… then once again, she had been completely played by Sui Yu.
Sui Yu’s body suddenly froze after hearing Shen Jueshu’s voice. Her red eyes dulled, and her soaked bangs stuck to her face. Long hair tumbled down over her shoulder, brushing against Shen Jueshu’s cheek. Moments later, hot tears fell—one after another—onto her skin, sliding down her cheek in burning rivulets.
“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…” Sui Yu whispered, trembling. The tears kept falling. But even now, she couldn’t control her body. She needed Shen Jueshu. Every time she tried to move away, her body resisted her thoughts. She couldn’t even move an inch.
She remained motionless, tears streaming down her cheeks and onto Shen Jueshu’s neck, scorching her skin with their heat.
Shen Jueshu felt a painful clench in her chest. Hearing Sui Yu’s repeated apologies, she wavered. The Sui Yu she had known would never act like this.
She let go.
She let Sui Yu rest her face against her neck, staring blankly up at the ceiling. The matter of the marking had already happened long ago. Stopping her from biting her gland now—what would it change?
Sui Yu buried her face in Shen Jueshu’s neck. Her tears continued to fall into the hollow of her throat. As she whispered over and over, asking what to do, how to end this suffering, Shen Jueshu remained silent.
She didn’t know the answer either. This painful cycle—this part of being an Alpha and Omega—was hardwired into them. How could she possibly stop it?
Then came the soft, warm lips brushing her gland again, sending a familiar shiver down her spine. Shen Jueshu’s pheromones spiraled out, unable to be contained, surrounding the two of them completely.
Eventually, the chaos faded. Sui Yu slowly rolled off of her, sitting quietly on the side with her head in her hands, looking deeply frustrated and unwilling to meet Shen Jueshu’s eyes.
Shen Jueshu slowly sat up from the sofa, straightening the clothes that had been rumpled. She didn’t bring up what had just happened. Instead, she asked, “What happened to you earlier?”
That sudden head-clutching and the pained expression were not something she could ignore.
Sui Yu stiffened, then raised her head to look at Shen Jueshu. Meeting those calm eyes, her flustered heart began to settle. She spoke in a low voice, “I saw flashes of something in my mind… but I couldn’t make out what it was.”
She was beginning to suspect those were the original Sui Yu’s memories. But she had no idea how to access them. No matter how hard she tried, everything stayed blurry—and now, even those fragments had vanished completely.
Hearing what Sui Yu said, Shen Jueshu fell silent. She stared at Sui Yu’s somewhat disheartened expression but didn’t respond. Instead, she bent down, picked up the documents that had fallen earlier, organized them neatly, and set them aside without looking through them again.
Perhaps… there really was a reason why some truths were being kept hidden.
“You…” Sui Yu hesitated, watching her actions.
Was she giving up? Just like that?
Shen Jueshu stood up and looked down at her. “If it was something even Old Master Sui was wary of, then whatever’s behind it might be far beyond our understanding. For something like this—something anyone could theoretically dig into—if they wanted to tamper with the information, we’d be completely helpless to stop it.”
If the other party truly didn’t want them to know the truth, no matter how hard they searched, it would be useless.
Sui Yu pressed her lips together in silence. Of course she understood that. But it still left her feeling unwilling—bitter, even.
Like a chess piece on a board, being moved by unseen hands.
Shen Jueshu checked the time. “I have a meeting coming up. Are you going to stay here?”
She figured Sui Yu’s heat had just passed, so she likely wouldn’t have another episode anytime soon.
“How long is the meeting going to last?” Sui Yu asked.
Shen Jueshu: “…” She couldn’t give a definite answer.
Seeing her pause, Sui Yu sighed. “I’ll go with you then.”
Even if it meant being stared at, it was still better than suffering alone.
Shen Jueshu didn’t object. She brought Sui Yu with her to the conference room. The moment they walked in, everyone else stared in shock, unable to believe what they were seeing.
Sui Yu hadn’t been in a meeting room for so long that they had almost forgotten what it was like to attend a meeting with her.
Among the attendees were both Alphas and Omegas—naturally, they could catch the faint trace of pheromones lingering between the two women. And without any pheromone blockers in place, it was hard not to notice. Whispers and suspicions began to stir.
Seeing everyone’s eyes on her, Sui Yu nonchalantly pulled out her phone and said, “You all just carry on, don’t mind me.”
She then calmly took her seat next to Shen Jueshu and began scrolling through her phone, completely unfazed by their stares.
Shen Jueshu was equally composed and announced the start of the meeting.
The Betas in the room, who couldn’t smell a thing, were thoroughly confused by the dynamic and began quietly speculating: Was Director Sui planning to return to managing the company? If she does, what happens to President Shen? Would they end up clashing?
Meanwhile, Sui Yu was oblivious to all the assumptions being made. She was focused on a message from Jiang Siyue: her next competition was on Friday, and she wanted Sui Yu to bring “sister-in-law” along to watch the show.
Sui Yu glanced at the date. It was Monday. Then she looked at the intensely focused Shen Jueshu beside her. She’s so busy—how could she have time to watch a variety show? She’s not like Li Jiang, who’d drop everything just to accompany her sister. Who was Sui Yu to expect Shen Jueshu to go along?
Sui Yu texted back:
“If you want to invite her, do it yourself. Did you forget what kind of relationship we have? Asking her to go to a show with us sounds way too much like a date. And that’s… not what we are.”
