Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 31.1
Sui Yu thought about going to coax her, but in the end… she didn’t.
Something about it just felt off. Awkward. Especially considering she hadn’t even said anything wrong.
So, she simply pretended nothing had happened between them. Whatever disagreement they might’ve had, it was as if it never occurred. While things between her and Shen Jueshu weren’t exactly warm afterward, at least they got along peacefully.
And for Sui Yu, this period became the most comfortable stretch of time since arriving in this world.
But as with all calm before the storm, comfort comes at a price—and hers came due when her susceptibility period hit.
As an Alpha, Sui Yu had been given suppressants by Jiang Siyue in advance… who then ran off so fast she practically left a vapor trail.
Sui Yu had been looking forward to finally testing the inhibitors—and they worked, at first. But when the second wave of heat crashed over her, the suppressants completely lost effectiveness.
Worse, the backlash from being suppressed was explosive.
The sharp, wild scent of geranium flooded the room. Sui Yu’s face flushed bright red as her hands began clawing at her own body uncontrollably, clothes mussed and nearly torn apart.
“Mmngh—”
Kneeling on the bed, eyes burning red and shimmering with unshed tears, Sui Yu lifted a trembling hand to wipe her eyes on her already-ruined sleeve.
Her body curled tighter and tighter, and pained whimpers escaped her lips.
She had thought she was prepared—but this time, her susceptibility period was even stronger than when she first arrived in this world.
Her whole chest ached with the desperate urge to mark her Omega. The craving felt like it was coming from deep inside her soul. A maddening, hollow hunger consumed her—one that scraped at her bones like a parasite, whispering that if she didn’t get the comfort she needed soon, she’d be torn apart from the inside.
“Uuuhh…”
She clenched her teeth, but the crashing tide of need brought her to tears.
There was only one person in her mind now: Shen Jueshu.
She needed her—needed her scent, her presence, her cool and icy pheromones. She didn’t care if she froze to death in them. She just needed to be near her.
But Shen Jueshu wasn’t home.
The entire house was silent, empty, and Sui Yu was left alone—writhing, crying, desperate for escape.
When the next wave of heat slammed into her, Sui Yu couldn’t take it anymore.
Her vision blurred red, she stumbled off the bed—barefoot, disheveled—and staggered down the hallway like an addict chasing a fix.
She headed straight for Shen Jueshu’s room.
That was her safe place. Her only anchor.
But when she grabbed the doorknob, it didn’t budge.
She shook the handle again and again—nothing. The door remained shut tight.
“Wuwuwu… you heartless bastard!!”
Sui Yu collapsed against the door and sobbed. Her cries were raw, furious, heartbroken.
“You’re a jerk, Shen Jueshu! A total jerk!”
She wept and cursed all at once, furious that when she had stuck with Shen Jueshu through her heat, for three whole days, now that it was her turn—Shen Jueshu was off drinking with someone else!
Her strength gave out. She slid to the floor and curled into a miserable little ball outside Shen Jueshu’s door, trying desperately to inhale the faint traces of her pheromones still lingering there.
It was pitiful.
By the time Shen Jueshu returned from the event, she immediately sensed something was off. The cold, sharp scent of an Alpha’s pheromones was raging through the house—even the downstairs foyer was soaked in it.
She frowned.
Sui Yu had taken the inhibitors. Why is the concentration still this high?
More than that, the chaotic edge to the scent suggested complete emotional collapse.
She tossed her purse onto the entryway table and didn’t even bother taking off her shoes before stepping further into the house—but as soon as she moved, she paused.
This level of pheromone saturation meant one thing: Sui Yu was likely on the verge of losing control.
And for an Omega like herself to approach a nearly feral Alpha?
That was incredibly dangerous.
Her expression shifted subtly, and her hand gripped the stair railing tighter, knuckles paling.
But then she remembered—how Sui Yu had stayed by her side during her heat.
They were mutually marked now. What could be worse than what they’d already been through?
She took a deep breath and made her decision.
Door closed. She headed upstairs.
Following the trail of pheromones, she grew more and more confused—it led directly to her own bedroom.
And when she reached the door, what she saw made her stop in her tracks.
Sui Yu, curled up like a lost child right outside her room.
Shen Jueshu stood frozen.
She didn’t even know what expression she was supposed to wear.
But the moment she approached, it was like Sui Yu sensed oxygen—her head snapped up, eyes locking onto her with terrifying intensity.
Shen Jueshu instinctively took a step back.
That look—those burning, bloodshot eyes—held a predator’s hunger, a possessive desire so scorching it felt like it could consume everything in its path.
Sui Yu’s pheromones, once wild and uncontrolled, began pulling toward her—circling, closing in, wrapping around her like a trap, a cocoon with no escape.
Shen Jueshu’s legs trembled.
Was it because they were mutually marked? Was that why Sui Yu’s presence stirred her own instincts so easily?
Even her own pheromones began to respond—echoing Sui Yu’s, intertwining.
The shame was unbearable.
She bit her lip hard to stay focused, her voice trembling with effort. “Sui Yu, calm down.”
She released her own pheromones to try and soothe the raging, Alpha.
But Sui Yu didn’t stop.
She kept advancing, step by step—until there was barely half a meter between them.
Those red eyes were filled with a devouring fire that scorched everything they landed on.
Shen Jueshu instinctively tried to retreat again—but this time, she didn’t make it.
Sui Yu lunged forward and pulled her into a tight embrace—and then both of them toppled to the floor.
Feeling the sudden shift in gravity, Shen Jueshu instinctively shut her eyes, bracing herself for the impact. But the pain she expected never came.
Instead, she landed in something warm and soft—and a low grunt sounded near her ear.
She realized she had fallen into Sui Yu’s arms. Those strong arms wrapped tightly around her waist as they landed face to face. Sui Yu buried her face into the crook of Shen Jueshu’s neck and whimpered, sounding pitiful beyond belief, “Why are you running? Can’t I even get a little whiff?”
Tears she had been holding back came rushing again. She had just barely stopped crying earlier, but seeing Shen Jueshu retreat from her again and again broke something in her.
Still nestled against her neck, Sui Yu was now so close she could taste the scent she’d been longing for—Shen Jueshu’s cold, intoxicating pheromones.
Without thinking, she pressed a kiss against her scent gland, trying to devour that fragrance entirely.
“Sui Yu!” Shen Jueshu growled, trying to push her off.
“Don’t move.”
Sui Yu’s tone was uncharacteristically possessive. Her arms tightened around Shen Jueshu’s waist, refusing to let go. Her lips continued to explore the scent gland—licking, savoring, and even gently nibbling it as if it were the most exquisite dessert.
Being toyed with like this in such an intimate spot made Shen Jueshu’s face flush wildly. The sheer humiliation of it all turned her complexion into a chaotic palette—red, white, and burning hot.
Sui Yu had completely crossed the line.
Shen Jueshu’s chest heaved with anger, but in her current state, her strength was nothing compared to a susceptible Alpha’s. No matter how she struggled, she couldn’t break free.
To make matters worse, the two of them had fallen in such a compromising position—Shen Jueshu on top, pressed tightly against Sui Yu. It looked more like foreplay than a wrestling match.
Her face darkened further—though there was now an unmistakable hint of pink at her ears.
“Y-You—don’t move!” Sui Yu muttered, completely unashamed. “It’s just a bit of your pheromone, why are you being so stingy?”
Shen Jueshu’s voice dropped dangerously. “Stingy? Do you even hear yourself? Do you call this just ‘taking a whiff’?”
She was licking her scent gland. Nibbling at it!
“Then why’d you run?” Sui Yu fired back, as if she were the one wronged.
The moment she tasted Shen Jueshu’s scent, the chaos in her mind settled a little—but she still clung to that scent gland like it was her last salvation.
