Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 27.2
Sui Yu had no choice but to wait until Jiang Siyue had cried enough before gently pulling her up and leading her outside to celebrate her successful advancement in the show.
“You better eat well,” Sui Yu advised as they got into the car. “Once the next round of filming starts, you’ll be living in a dorm with the others under closed management. You won’t have this many food options then.”
Because the show had ended right at rush hour, traffic was completely jammed. Sui Yu had originally planned to take Jiang Siyue out for seafood, but the restaurant was too far away. By the time they got there, it’d be way too late. So, Jiang Siyue suggested a nearby place she liked, saying they served amazing salt-baked shrimp.
Sui Yu didn’t argue. The girl had just cried her heart out—whatever she wanted, she’d get.
After parking, Jiang Siyue confidently led her into the restaurant like she’d been there a dozen times before. Judging by how familiar she was, Sui Yu could tell this wasn’t her first visit.
Since it was just the two of them, they didn’t bother getting a private room and sat in the main dining area. Jiang Siyue ordered a huge spread—almost too much. Sui Yu couldn’t help but feel like she was stress-eating, trying to distract herself with food.
Watching her quietly, Sui Yu sighed. She knew this girl must still be feeling terrible, so she simply stayed by her side, eating with her in silence.
But of course, just because she wasn’t looking for trouble didn’t mean trouble wouldn’t come knocking.
“Well, if it isn’t President Sui. And Miss Jiang, the third daughter of the Jiang family. What a surprise running into you two here.”
The voice came from behind—sarcastic and laced with mockery.
Sui Yu looked up.
Nope. Didn’t recognize the man—or the group of people with him.
Jiang Siyue glanced up too. Already in a bad mood, she rolled her eyes without hesitation. “Yeah? And so what?”
“You—” The man looked taken aback by her attitude. His expression twisted for a second, but he quickly recovered, plastering on a fake smile as he turned to Sui Yu. After catching the faint scent of pheromones around her, that smile deepened.
“Didn’t expect this. So our great President Sui is not only living off an Omega, but you’ve actually been marked by one too?”
Sui Yu blinked, confused by the arrogance of this Alpha. What did he just say? Living off someone? Since when?
She turned to Jiang Siyue, who leaned in and whispered, “In Alpha-Omega households, if the Omega’s the breadwinner, people say the Alpha is freeloading. It’s looked down upon.”
Sui Yu: “…” Seriously? What kind of prehistoric thinking is that? Whoever’s capable should take charge—is that so hard to grasp?
The man’s smug face and his cronies’ mocking expressions rubbed Sui Yu the wrong way.
She smiled sweetly, fluttered her lashes at him, and said, “Oh? Jealous much? Are you just upset because I have a successful wife who supports me while you don’t?”
She said it in the most deliberately annoying tone possible.
Jiang Siyue couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing, her bad mood instantly lightened.
The man’s face turned beet red. He pointed furiously at Sui Yu. “You… You’re an embarrassment to Alphas! Living off an Omega and even letting her mark you! You’re a disgrace!”
Sui Yu raised an eyebrow and said coolly, “Are you stuck in the Stone Age? We advocate A-O equality now. In a household, whoever’s more capable takes the lead. That’s way better than some people—who clearly aren’t capable—pretending they are just to save face and making the whole family suffer for it.”
“And so what if I was marked by an Omega? Only Alphas are allowed to mark their partners? If you truly love someone, it should go both ways. I marked my wife, and she marked me. That’s called mutual commitment. What’s wrong with that? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.”
She casually rested her chin on her hand and sighed, “Honestly, I should tell my wife to love me even more. Seeing you makes me realize how lucky she is to have someone like me.”
Her words almost made the man cough up blood. Every sentence was a slap in the face—mocking his toxic Alpha pride and outdated thinking.
“You, you…” The man was so angry, he was speechless.
Sui Yu casually reached out, grabbed his pointed finger, and twisted it back slightly. Coldly, she said, “I don’t like being pointed at.”
“And judging by your tone, you really seem to look down on Omegas, huh? But weren’t you born from one? What would your Omega parent say if they saw you like this? Probably wish they’d drowned you at birth.”
The man’s face twisted in pain and humiliation, turning a dark shade of red.
Other patrons in the restaurant began glancing their way, but no one dared step in. Everyone here recognized Sui Yu—these weren’t people to mess with.
Sui Yu let go of his finger with a snort, grabbed the wet towel Jiang Siyue thoughtfully handed her, and wiped her hands like she’d just touched something filthy. She placed the towel on the table and said coldly, “If you don’t want to make a bigger fool of yourself, then scram.”
The look on her face turned deadly serious, her aura so chilling that it felt like something terrible would happen if her command wasn’t obeyed.
The man, now truly realizing who he’d picked a fight with, clutched his hand and fled with his friends, dragged away in a panic.
Once they were gone, Sui Yu withdrew the pheromone pressure she’d been using and scoffed, “Whose idiotic kid was that?”
Jiang Siyue leaned over and placed a peeled shrimp in Sui Yu’s bowl like a loyal servant. “The Wang family’s idiot heir. He’s infamous in Linhai for drinking, gambling, and whoring. His reputation’s worse than ours!”
Sui Yu clicked her tongue. “Worse than ours? That’s impressive. Must be a real piece of work.”
“Shen, is that your wife?” A foreign woman with striking features glanced in Sui Yu’s direction, her eyes full of interest.
Shen Jueshu looked over as well. She saw Sui Yu calmly eating, remembering everything she’d just overheard, and couldn’t help but smile slightly. “Yes, that’s her.”
The woman’s eyes widened in surprise. “I really missed out by not coming to your wedding. I wish I’d met her sooner.”
She had been overseas for work at the time and wasn’t able to attend the ceremony.
“What’s so special about her?” Shen Jueshu said, casually picking up a piece of food—but her appetite had clearly faded. Her mind was filled with Sui Yu’s words.
Out there, she kept calling her “wife” so naturally—like it wasn’t embarrassing at all. Did she forget they were supposed to be getting divorced?
“Shen, you’re really taking your blessings for granted.” The woman widened her eyes in disbelief. “An Alpha like her is rare. You know how few Alphas in this world are capable of doing what she just did?”
Being accused of living off an Omega and even being marked by one—yet Sui Yu didn’t show the slightest bit of shame. On the contrary, she sounded proud.
