Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 26.4
Back in her car, she slammed a hand down on the steering wheel, frustrated. Being kept in the dark by everyone—it was enough to drive anyone mad!
She glanced out just in time to see Shen Jueshu getting into the black Maybach parked nearby. Only now did she recall that, while driving earlier, she had vaguely noticed that car—but hadn’t thought anything of it.
No wonder Shen Jueshu told her she needed better awareness.
Sui Yu shook her head. It was clear—no matter how hard she tried, she still wasn’t used to this world.
She was still just a stranger here.
The car sped along the highway. For a brief moment, Sui Yu wondered—should she just give up?
Truth? What truth? Given the way things were going, not knowing might not even matter. Maybe she should just live her life and get through this world as best she could.
People always said ignorance was bliss, didn’t they?
She slowed the car and drove to the coast. After parking, she walked out onto the rocks and sat down, staring out at the vast sea and endless waves. The breeze carried the scent of salt and seaweed, and despite it all, she still felt a sense of bitterness.
It was bad enough that she had been dropped into this world without warning. But to stumble around in the dark like a blind person—that was what made it unbearable.
She let out a sigh. Maybe she was just being too impatient. Some truths couldn’t be uncovered overnight. Maybe she needed to calm down and focus on living well first. Everything else could come later.
Once she’d worked through that thought, she sat by the sea for quite some time before finally driving to the audition venue for the show Only the Best.
Today, Jiang Siyue’s agent had arranged for her to participate, so Sui Yu decided to come support her.
Following the crowd, she bought a bunch of glow sticks and accessories and decked herself out. Anyone who saw her had to do a double take.
After all, it wasn’t every day you saw someone covered head to toe in glow sticks—she looked like a walking neon sign.
Sui Yu didn’t care what others thought. As she entered the studio and the lights inside dimmed, her glowing outfit became even more obvious—drawing stares from every direction.
Sui Yu took out her phone and messaged Jiang Siyue to let her know she had arrived. Jiang Siyue replied that she still had seven or eight performers ahead of her, so Sui Yu settled into her seat, watching the stage with interest.
She had attended shows like this before, but rarely had such a great view. From here, she could clearly see the entire stage—definitely one of the best seats in the house.
“President Sui?”
A voice called out from behind her—polite, but slightly uncertain.
Sui Yu turned her head in confusion, and immediately froze when she saw who it was: Li Jiang, with that usual elegant yet cunning look on her face.
What is Li Jiang doing here?!
She was completely thrown off. Li Jiang didn’t seem like the type to come to variety show auditions. Could it be Jiang Siyue begged her to come?
Knowing Jiang Siyue’s lovestruck nature, Sui Yu found it hard to rule out. Her expression grew a little hard to read.
“What brings you here, President Li?” Sui Yu asked, her eyes also landing on the woman sitting next to Li Jiang. She had soft brown curls, gentle features, and warm, smiling eyes that looked toward her kindly.
Sui Yu: “…” Li Jiang brought another Omega? She didn’t recall Li Jiang ever being involved with one.
Li Jiang looked calm but cool. She glanced at the woman next to her and said, “I’m here with my cousin. What about you, President Sui?”
She glanced around but didn’t spot anyone familiar. So Sui Yu came alone?
Hearing that, Sui Yu quietly let out a breath of relief. As long as Jiang Siyue didn’t drag her here, that was all she needed to know. Judging by Li Jiang’s expression, she probably didn’t even know Jiang Siyue was performing today.
Good. If Jiang Siyue really had gone to that extent, Sui Yu might’ve pried open her head to study how “simp brain” and “delusional loyalty” are structured.
“Just here to relax and enjoy the show,” Sui Yu said with a smile. She gave a friendly nod to Li Jiang’s cousin too, though she didn’t introduce herself since Li Jiang hadn’t done so.
“Ah Jiang, aren’t you going to introduce us?” the cousin asked. Her voice, just like her appearance, was soft and gentle.
Li Jiang’s expression cooled noticeably. She immediately regretted calling out to Sui Yu earlier.
But with her cousin asking, she had no choice. “You’ve just returned from abroad, so you might not know—this is Sui Yu, the well-known Alpha of Linhai and President of Suihe.”
Then she turned to Sui Yu and added blandly, “My cousin, Li Yi.”
Sui Yu: “…” That introduction sounded just a bit passive-aggressive, didn’t it?
Still, since introductions were made, Sui Yu politely smiled. “Pleasure to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too,” Li Yi replied with a gentle nod. Then she asked, “Do you have a favorite performer?”
Sui Yu paused for a beat—she hadn’t expected Li Yi to chat. Then, catching a glimpse of Li Jiang’s slight frown, she suddenly found the moment amusing. For some reason, it felt like Li Jiang might be a little too protective of her cousin.
“There is someone I really like. She’s very talented,” Sui Yu replied with a mysterious smile, choosing not to give a name. Now she was especially looking forward to seeing Li Jiang’s reaction when she recognized Jiang Siyue.
Li Yi didn’t press for details. “I have someone I love watching too—her name is Mo Yu. She’s incredible.”
“Oh? I’ll definitely keep an eye out,” Sui Yu said politely.
That seemed to genuinely brighten Li Yi’s face, like she was proud of the person she was supporting.
“Let’s watch the show, Cousin,” Li Jiang said, cutting in. Clearly, she didn’t want the conversation to continue.
“Alright,” Li Yi responded agreeably.
Sui Yu turned her attention back to the stage, but her focus was already elsewhere. She was simply waiting for Jiang Siyue’s performance.
Before Jiang Siyue came out, Mo Yu—Li Yi’s favorite—took the stage.
From the moment she appeared, Sui Yu’s eyes lit up. Mo Yu had all her hair braided into cornrows tied back, giving off a bold, rebellious energy. She looked young, probably just over twenty, and exuded individuality and confidence.
When she introduced herself as an Omega, the contrast was striking. A personality like that in an Omega? Definitely eye-catching.
As Mo Yu performed, her strong vocals and solid dance skills stood out. Her stage presence blew most contestants out of the water. By the end, Sui Yu had to admit—Li Yi had great taste.
Throughout the performance, Mo Yu kept glancing in their direction. But Sui Yu quickly realized the looks weren’t meant for her—they were clearly for Li Yi. So they knew each other?
Of course, Mo Yu passed the round. As she stepped off stage, Li Yi got up and left—likely going to meet her. Li Jiang, however, remained seated.
That reassured Sui Yu. If Li Jiang had left too, she’d miss the most exciting part—her reaction.
And right on cue, Jiang Siyue came out next.
The moment she appeared, Sui Yu was stunned.
Black cargo pants. A black leather jacket. An unexpected choice, but on Jiang Siyue’s tall and lean figure, it looked striking. With her hair pulled back and makeup accentuating her features, she looked fierce and sharp. She stepped into the spotlight like she owned it, and the crowd immediately responded with loud cheers.
As Jiang Siyue’s “family,” Sui Yu felt it was her duty to cheer louder than anyone. She stood up, waved her glow sticks with energy, and shouted Jiang Siyue’s name at full volume.
Li Jiang, sitting behind her, had already frozen when she saw Jiang Siyue walk onstage. But after hearing Sui Yu scream her name like that, any lingering doubts vanished.
It really was Jiang Siyue.
But… how?
The Jiang Siyue in her memory wore cute dresses, clung to her side, and always spoke in a soft, sweet voice.
But this woman on stage—her confident gaze, strong presence, and the way she held the spotlight like she belonged there—was someone Li Jiang had never seen before.
Jiang Siyue, of course, noticed Sui Yu standing and cheering her on. She gave a radiant smile and formed a big heart with her hands, directed straight at her.
Sui Yu instantly returned the gesture. Only when Jiang Siyue turned her gaze away did she sit back down, then glance at Li Jiang—who was still staring, wide-eyed, at the stage.
Satisfied, Sui Yu smiled.
Yes—she had absolutely stood up on purpose. She had been worried that Jiang Siyue might spot Li Jiang and get distracted, so she made sure to draw all her attention to herself instead.
