Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 26.1
“No, something’s not right!”
Jiang Siyue quickly caught up, her gaze suspiciously falling on Sui Yu’s neck. “Why has your pheromone changed?”
Sui Yu paused mid-step, suddenly realizing that she had never mentioned this to Jiang Siyue.
“A while ago—on the day I married Shen Jueshu—I went into heat, and my pheromones underwent a shift.”
“Pheromone shift?!” Jiang Siyue’s eyes widened in disbelief. “That kind of thing actually happens?!”
“Hm?”
Sui Yu’s gaze instantly landed on Jiang Siyue’s face. She frowned. “You knew about this?”
Jiang Siyue raised her hand and felt Sui Yu’s forehead, then touched her own, puzzled. “You don’t have a fever. Why are you forgetting what you said yourself? You told me before that one day, your pheromones might shift.”
Sui Yu’s heart skipped a beat. She was startled by Jiang Siyue’s words—so the original host had mentioned this before? Why would she say such a thing? What did she know?
“I… I don’t really remember,” Sui Yu said, rubbing her head with a pained expression. “Actually, I hit my head the night of the wedding. I think I forgot a lot of things.”
“What? Was it serious?” Jiang Siyue immediately grew concerned and tried to inspect her head, though she couldn’t understand how someone would hit their head on their wedding night. Could it have been from, well… overexcitement?
Oh right! She had also said she didn’t like Shen Jueshu anymore. Could it be that she hit her head and forgot just how much she used to like him?
“It’s fine, really. I’m much better now, just missing some memories.” Sui Yu quickly dodged Jiang Siyue’s attempt to check her head. With a hint of hesitation, she asked, “You said I once talked about a pheromone shift—did I say anything else that day?”
Seeing that she seemed genuinely okay, Jiang Siyue relaxed and scratched her head. After thinking hard for a moment, she gave an awkward smile. “I drank quite a bit that night, so I can’t really remember the rest.”
Sui Yu: “…”
“But don’t worry! Maybe I’ll suddenly remember again one day!” Jiang Siyue patted her on the shoulder with a confident grin.
“Alright, I’m heading back to rest,” Sui Yu said weakly, brushing past Jiang Siyue and dragging her heavy steps toward her room. She had hoped to learn something useful, but Jiang Siyue turned out to be totally unreliable.
After Sui Yu left, Jiang Siyue scratched her head and turned toward Shen Jueshu’s room—only to see her leaning silently against the doorframe, her expression unreadable. Jiang Siyue shivered instinctively. When had she even shown up?
“Well, now that you’re awake… if you’re hungry, you can just go downstairs and get something to eat.” Jiang Siyue stammered a bit. Hopefully, nothing she and A-Yu said was something Shen Jueshu wasn’t supposed to hear.
“Alright. Thank you,” Shen Jueshu replied coolly before stepping back into the room and shutting the door.
Once she was separated from Jiang Siyue, Shen Jueshu’s face turned completely cold. She recalled Sui Yu’s condition when she saw her after her heat cycle—her forehead had been badly swollen. So all these recent changes were truly caused by head trauma and memory loss?
But then why had she tried to run away from the wedding before that? And some of her actions afterward didn’t match Sui Yu’s usual behavior either.
Clearly, there were more and more mysteries surrounding this Sui Yu.
Back in her room, Sui Yu carefully supported her waist as she lay face-down on the bed. After three days of rest, she was much better, but she still didn’t dare make any sudden movements for fear of aggravating her injury.
Lying down with her eyes closed, Sui Yu couldn’t sleep at all. Her mind was spinning with Jiang Siyue’s words. Just how many secrets did the original host have that she didn’t know about? Even something as specific as a future pheromone shift?
Could it be… that the original host somehow knew someone else would one day occupy her body?
Sui Yu couldn’t make sense of it. Everything about this world felt tangled and mysterious. If she wanted answers, she would have to slowly unravel each layer to find the truth.
“Arghhh!”
She suddenly let out a loud cry, clenching her fists and pounding the bed in frustration. How was she supposed to unravel all of this?
“Forget it. I’ll rest for now. There’s no rush anyway.” Defeated, Sui Yu forced herself to clear her mind. The most important thing right now was to rest—only a clear head could think clearly.
And when she finally fell asleep, the quality of her rest was exceptional. She slept straight from morning to late at night. Upon waking up to a silent house, she made herself some instant noodles and ate them casually before taking a shower and going back to sleep.
The next morning, she was fully dressed and ready. Gently touching her now-healed face, she planned to visit the old mansion again. Last time, she had barely started looking before Shen Jueshu called her away to the company. This time, she was determined to uncover more clues.
Fortunately, she remembered the route clearly from her first visit. She drove fast—the urgency in her heart showing through in her speed.
“Follow that car ahead.”
“Yes, President Shen.”
A black Maybach tailed the flashy red sports car ahead, but its driver was completely unaware, her mind fully focused on reaching the old mansion.
Seated in the Maybach, Shen Jueshu watched the red car in front, frowning slightly. Sui Yu had no sense of danger. This wasn’t even a subtle tail—yet she didn’t notice a thing.
But as they followed the road, Shen Jueshu didn’t need to wait until the end to guess where Sui Yu was headed: the Sui family’s old estate?
She had been there a few times in her childhood. Back then, she was proud and preferred solitude, always taking a book and sitting alone in a quiet corner. She didn’t like being disturbed.
Her impression of Sui Yu was faint at best. All she remembered was that the child had a bright smile. When she saw her again—cold and moody, forcing her into marriage—she could never reconcile this woman with the sunny girl from her memories.
Even back then, she couldn’t understand how someone could change so drastically.
She watched Sui Yu drive into the old estate, then told the driver to stop. The red sports car disappeared from view as she sat in silence, staring after it.
Shen Jueshu was a little surprised and confused by Sui Yu’s sudden visit to the old mansion. As far as she knew, ever since Sui Yu had moved out, she hadn’t returned in many years.
Knock knock knock.
Shen Jueshu snapped out of her thoughts and looked toward the man bending slightly outside the car window. She recognized him as the old mansion’s butler.
She rolled down the window and looked at him with an indifferent gaze.
“Good day, Madam. The young miss has already gone inside. Won’t you go in as well?” The butler wore a warm smile, but Shen Jueshu instinctively found it unpleasant.
He felt like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
She silently observed him while he smiled back at her. Shen Jueshu slowly gave a cold smirk and parted her red lips slightly. “I’ll go in.”
The butler’s smile grew even brighter as he stepped back to open the gate and welcome her inside.
Once inside, Shen Jueshu didn’t need anyone to guide her. She followed her memory and made her way to the main building. The first floor was spotless and tidy, and the decor seemed to have been preserved exactly as she remembered—unchanged over the years.
