- Luring Her to Take the Bait
- Chapter 19 - One More Time - "Just one more today, please"
The day Pei Wenjin posted the meticulously edited photo of the two of them in white shirts against a red background, along with a shot of their uniquely beautiful hands, to both the company’s official account and her personal Weibo, they hit the top three trending topics within a minute.
#Pei Group CEO Married
#Pei Wenjin Fu Su
#Sansheng Law Firm Fu Su
It was no secret that Pei Wenjin liked the same sex. Moreover, with her mother and sister being public figures whose own same-sex partners were well-known, she was flamboyant and never bothered to hide it. Consequently, the comment section was filled mostly with blessings and teasing; Pei Wenjin usually ignored the insults.
For instance:
“Wishing you 99 years of happiness!”
“Little President Pei has finally decided to settle down. [Doghead.jpg]”
“Boss, Boss! Requesting daily outfit-of-the-day (OOTD) posts of your romance. Please! [Begging.jpg]”
Then there were comments that made Pei Wenjin’s eyelids twitch—presumably from Fu Su’s “fans.”
“How could my Wife Lawyer Fu get married! No, no! [Screaming in collapse.jpg]”
“What do you mean ‘wife’? Lawyer Fu should stay solo and beautiful!”
“I want to know what Lawyer Fu looks like when she likes someone. Does she smile? Let me see. [Curious. Peeking.jpg]”
Pei Wenjin tossed her phone onto the sofa and pouted, overcome with jealousy. She grabbed a little wolf plushie and began kneading it, chirping indignantly.
“They’re trying to steal my Su-Su from me!” “Calling her ‘wife’—Su-Su is my wife!” “Yebao! Is Su-Su really that famous!?”
Ye Zhen gave a faint “mm-hm.” Pei Wenjin froze, her eyes widening as she bit her lip.
“Fu Su has an account on Douyin. She occasionally livestreams to provide legal explanations,” Ye Zhen said calmly, glancing at her.
Pei Wenjin blinked and reached for her phone, frowning. “Livestreaming? Why didn’t you tell me before? Has she streamed recently?”
“Don’t you know if she has or hasn’t?” Ye Zhen asked tonelessly, giving her a look.
“I—” How would I know!
Su-Su was always tucked away in her room!
Pei Wenjin opened her mouth, her eyes darting around before she turned her head away. “I’m going to go ask Su-Su when her next stream is.”
She sent a message to Fu Su on WeChat, then switched back to Douyin and opened the search bar. Given Fu Su’s cold and minimalist personality, her nickname was likely just the law firm’s name plus her own.
Pei Wenjin typed: Sansheng Law Firm Fu Su.
Her eyes flickered. Hah, only one user result popped up, boasting over 1.2 million followers. The profile picture was a professional headshot. She clicked into the main page.
The screen was filled with short legal knowledge videos—thousands of them. The account had been started seven years ago. She clicked into the livestream replays and selected the most recent one. It was from the day Pei Wenjin remembered kissing someone; her erratic memory had somehow retained that date.
A snowy, frigid face appeared on the screen. She wore rimless glasses—rectangular and slightly long with silver temples—making her look ice-cold and brilliant, like a sage.
This was a Fu Su that Pei Wenjin had never seen.
Under the cold white lights, Fu Su’s pupils were incredibly deep. She stared into the camera as if making eye contact with the person behind the screen. Her voice—a low, husky “storyteller” voice—was very sultry, not out of affectation, but perhaps enhanced by the lighting and the electronic hum.
“I have disabled the gift function. Please keep the comments harmonious.” “If you have questions for consultation, please type them in the public chat in advance. Six people, voice connection.” “The duration is one hour. We begin promptly at eight.”
Fu Su wore a black suit with a blue shirt and a tie. A blue lawyer’s badge was pinned to her left lapel. She reached up to push her glasses, the movement reflecting a cold light across her brow. She looked aloof and unapproachable. The background appeared to be her study at home—very formal.
At that moment, Pei Wenjin felt like backing out. She had never seen this side of Su-Su. It felt like something that belonged to her had been discovered by others first, coveted by them, and she was only just finding out. She was possessive and naturally a bit domineering; she wanted every facet of Fu Su to belong to her. If she couldn’t have it, she would snatch it back starting from the next stream.
Before the stream even officially began, the viewer count hit 400,000. People were flooding the screen. Lawyer Fu Lawyer Fu Lawyer Fu… Good evening Good evening… Sister is so handsome so handsome…
Fu Su took a breath and said politely in a low voice, “Good evening.”
Pei Wenjin felt a pang of bitterness and bit her lower lip. She intended to listen until the first question was answered before exiting, but then she saw a certain comment. Her face went pale instantly, and she suddenly covered her mouth, feeling a wave of nausea.
*”Lawyer Fu, [slurp slurp], you look so handsome in a suit. I really want to see you without clothes. Just hearing your voice makes me *.”
“Ha…” Pei Wenjin swung her arm and slammed the phone onto the floor. It hit with a loud thud, bounced, and skittered away.
Her bright, sweet voice was now pressed low in her throat, sounding like a tightly shut clam. “ID 74446823. Yebao, ban her account.”
“No, wait. Find someone to ban every single account in Su-Su’s livestream room that says those disgusting things!”
Ye Zhen froze slightly. Looking at the phone with the shattered screen on the ground, she walked over, bent down, and picked it up. “All of them?”
“All of them!”
It was the first time Ye Zhen had seen such a fierce look in her eyes. The veins on her forehead were throbbing, and her chest heaved with anger.
“This kind of thing can’t be completely eliminated. Banning accounts won’t solve the problem. Since Fu Su decided to enter the public eye, she has to face these things.”
“You know this. You’ve experienced it too, haven’t you?”
Ye Zhen’s gaze was too transparent, as if she could see right through her. Pei Wenjin snapped her face away, pulled her legs up to hug her knees, and buried her head, muttering, “Yebao, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have lost my temper with you.”
“I just…”
She lifted a pair of moist eyes, bit her lip, and whispered, “I didn’t handle my emotions well.”
Her heart felt sour—sourer than lime jam. But when she saw those foul comments, she first thought of Fu Su’s snowy-white face, and then her raven-black eyes. People said Fu Su kept everyone at a distance. On that “world-weary” face sat a pair of eyes that seemed out of place—sharp, lean, contradictory, yet captivating.
She loved Fu Su’s eyes. Like black crystals, filled with stories. They were heartbreakingly beautiful. Because of them, she felt Fu Su’s soul was beautiful too. No one should be allowed to speak filth to her; it would dirty her, hurt her.
Su-Su was her wife. She had to protect her.
Pei Wenjin twisted the ring on her ring finger and said word by word, “Ban them anyway.” She looked up at Ye Zhen, wiped the corner of her eye, and spoke with burning intensity: “Yebao, I saw it. I care. So, ban them. No matter if they pop up again, just do it.”
“Fine.” Ye Zhen nodded and set the phone down. However, after taking a step to leave, she turned back, her brow furrowing slightly. “I apologize. I overstepped just now.”
Ye Zhen was always composed; this was the first time she felt she hadn’t handled something perfectly. “You didn’t care about these things before. I thought this time…”
“I really don’t care about myself.” Pei Wenjin blinked her clear eyes. “But that is Su-Su.”
It was the Su-Su who had no one behind her. The Su-Su who only had herself.
“I understand.” Ye Zhen’s expression turned solemn. “I’ll have the PR team monitor it constantly. I won’t let those comments appear on the public screen again.”
Pei Wenjin’s eyes crinkled. “Yebao, you’re the best!”
“The screen is broken. Are you going to fix it yourself?” Ye Zhen glanced at her, a slight smile forming.
“No, you help me take it to be fixed. I’m lazy.” Pei Wenjin gave a coquettish huff, shook her head, and kicked her feet. Then, her pupils flashed. She scrambled up, reaching out to grab the phone. “Did Su-Su reply to my message?”
The result… the phone wouldn’t turn on.
Pei Wenjin looked at Ye Zhen piteously and held out her hand. “Yebao, your phone.”
“I don’t have Fu Su’s WeChat,” Ye Zhen said while handing over the device.
“Oh, then I’ll call~”
But as Pei Wenjin opened the dial pad, she stared at the keys in a daze. She realized too late that she didn’t actually remember Fu Su’s phone number!
So, Pei Wenjin ran straight to the law firm. Stepping out of the elevator, she found Fu Su’s office with practiced ease. Many eyes fell upon her. Pei Wenjin gave a bright, pearly-white smile. “Good afternoon~”
Then, without even knocking, she pushed the door open and called out sweetly, “Su-Su!”
The crowd outside gasped.
At that moment, Fu Su was comparing the bank statements of an H-share company. Seeing her burst in, she looked up with a hint of confusion before putting the records away.
“Why the sudden visit?”
“I missed you! So I came to find you!”
Today, Pei Wenjin wore a fresh mint-green cinched waist shirt and a polka-dot mini skirt, looking like a college student in her early twenties.
In Fu Su’s assessment, the skirt was a bit short—especially when she sat right on her lap, crossing her fair legs and tilting her body playfully. The scent of woody citrus filled Fu Su’s nose, leaving her unsure where to look or where to put her hands.
“Su-Su, are you busy?” Pei Wenjin hugged her, consciously avoiding the documents on the desk.
“…It’s alright.” Fu Su’s expression remained unchanged, her voice low. She rubbed her fingertips against the armrest before loosely wrapping her arm around Pei Wenjin’s waist to steady her.
Since their one-week anniversary, Pei Wenjin had taken to sitting on her lap frequently. At home on the sofa, Pei Wenjin would drape her legs over hers, rest her head on Fu Su’s shoulder, or even prop her legs up and knead Fu Su’s thighs with her feet like a kitten “making biscuits.” Her ankles were slender, the outer bone tinged with pink, and her Achilles tendon was long and elegant.
…In truth, Fu Su could hardly bear to look at her!
Her top was already thin and didn’t cover much, and since she was restless—twisting and turning—her stomach would often be exposed. Fu Su would always help pull her clothes down, but moments later, they would ride up again. Sometimes she just wore a little camisole that didn’t cover her midriff at all.
Fu Su would eventually have to retreat to her own room; she really couldn’t handle the stimulation. Fu Su sniffed, giving a somewhat helpless smile.
“Su-Su, did you see the message I sent you?” “My phone… cough, I broke it. Yebao took it to be fixed.”
Pei Wenjin touched Fu Su’s sideburns, her fingertips grazing her ear before rubbing her warm earlobe. The ear turned red again.
“I haven’t checked my phone yet.”
Fu Su swallowed, her voice a bit dry. She picked up her phone and didn’t hide it from Pei Wenjin. She unlocked it with her fingerprint and opened WeChat, tapping the chat with Pei Wenjin. There were no pinned chats; Pei Wenjin wasn’t pinned either.
Fu Su mused for a moment and said, “I have to check my schedule. I’m not sure when the next one will be.”
“What’s your phone password?” Pei Wenjin asked out of the blue.
She had her arms around Fu Su’s neck. Suddenly, she turned her head to look outside. Through the smart glass, she met several pairs of eyes. Oh boy, they looked shocked and curious. Pei Wenjin’s eyes crinkled into crescents as she smiled sweetly.
Are they shocked that I can just barge into Su-Su’s office? And sit on Su-Su’s lap? Heh, because I’m Su-Su’s wife! Oh, wait, it already blew up on Weibo, so they know. Heh, that’s fine. I like it when Su-Su favors me.
She suddenly leaned down and gave Fu Su a loud “muah” on the cheek. With a shimmering gaze and a blooming smile, she whispered into the red-hot ear, “Su-Su, they can see us.”
Actually, she kind of wanted to nibble on Fu Su’s ear; it looked so soft. From a third-party perspective, this posture looked extremely intimate—very much “ear-to-ear.”
A “thump” came from outside the door, as if someone had accidentally walked into the glass. Pei Wenjin let out a soft laugh, her breath tickling Fu Su’s skin. Almost instantly, goosebumps rose behind Fu Su’s ear.
Fu Su shrank her neck and turned her head away. “That’s enough.”
“What’s enough?” Pei Wenjin blinked innocently.
“…” Fu Su glanced at her, picked up the phone, and decided not to indulge her mischievousness.
“The password.”
She locked the screen, lit it up again, and swiped up with one hand to enter the password screen. She tapped six digits.
- A string of numbers without any obvious logic.
“Got it?”
“Mm! Remembered!” Pei Wenjin’s pupils were bright. She pouted her lips, wanting to kiss her again.
She loved how much Su-Su indulged her—so well-behaved, like a big cat having its belly rubbed. Most importantly, Su-Su didn’t hide her phone from her. This meant Su-Su trusted her!
Fu Su tapped her chin with a finger and said in a lazy tone, “Just once.”
Pei Wenjin puffed out one cheek in dissatisfaction, wiggled her shoulders, and acted spoiled. “Just one more today, please~”
She leaned against Fu Su’s shoulder, her eyes shimmering with emotion as she spoke softly, “Sister~”
It was both crisp and sweet.
Fu Su’s thick eyelashes fluttered. She pressed her thin lips together and remained silent, but the crimson creeping into the corners of her eyes gave a much more direct reaction.
Pei Wenjin then happily cupped her face and kissed her chin.
