In the eyes of the public, Shen Tangmo is the definition of perfection. At a young age, he tested with S-rank Guide potential. He is a master of both academic and martial arts, and he is incomparably handsome. Adopting him proved that his parents had excellent judgment.
And what about Shen Huaiyun? Even though his grades are undeniably excellent among his peers, he showed no potential for Awakening. In the eyes of outsiders, he is merely the plain, biological son whose only purpose is to serve as a foil to his brother’s brilliance.
An accident at the age of thirteen shattered his mental landscape, causing him to vanish from the Academy’s spotlight. Although his performance during that incident was spectacular, the price he paid was so devastating that many now consider him a “failure.”
No one pays attention to the green leaf standing beside a blooming flower. Consequently, no one knows that this “useless” younger brother has fallen hopelessly, terminally in love with his dazzling elder brother.

When their parents fall in battle, the two are left to depend only on each other in the freezing winter of the apocalypse. Panic seizes Shen Huaiyun when his brother resolutely applies to go to Beria Tower, the very place where their parents sacrificed themselves, to face the most terrifying tide of Xenomorphs.
At that exact moment, his long-delayed Awakening arrives, accompanied by the soul-tearing agony of transformation.
Before leaving, Shen Tangmo entrusts a reliable Guide friend to look after his younger brother. However, the clever younger brother has other plans. If he receives Guide therapy, he can use certain methods to accelerate his Awakening.
Shen Huaiyun pushes himself through high-intensity training to “fight fire with fire.” He relies on painkillers and sleeping pills to endure the splitting headaches of his evolution. While his strength rockets upward, the side effects arrive with a vengeance: he begins to see “Brother” everywhere.
That illusory figure accompanies him daily with gentle care, soothing his nerves as they teeter on the brink of collapse. He drowns himself in the delusion and even thinks that this is not so bad.
This continues until the day Shen Tangmo returns home on leave. In a blur of clouded consciousness, Shen Huaiyun grabs him and presses a searing, reckless kiss onto his lips.
The next morning, he stares at his brother’s peaceful sleeping face beside him, his pupils shaking with shock. The tenderness of last night was not a hallucination!
