After accidentally transmigrating into a Western fantasy manga world, Bai Rui becomes the eldest prince, an Omega with a defective gland. Despite being the least favored member of the royal family, he possesses snow white skin, stunning beauty, and long legs. This breathtaking appearance makes him a target, the royal family plots to use him as a scapegoat, forcing him to take the second prince’s place in an arranged marriage to the Evil God Witch Emperor after a military defeat.
In the original story, he attempts to assassinate the Witch Emperor on their wedding night, fails miserably, and meets a tragic end, a textbook definition of “cannon fodder.”
To avoid his doomed fate, Bai Rui decisively flees: “Goodbye!”
During his escape, he makes off with some of the Evil God’s treasures and happens to “kidnap” a beautiful man named A-Wu. Along the way, Bai Rui hits a sudden heat cycle and completes his differentiation, thanks to a temporary marking from A-Wu, he survives the ordeal. Just as their feelings for each other rapidly heat up, Bai Rui is suddenly pulled back to reality.
When he transmigrates back into the story again, the aristocrats who once looked down on him are now desperately begging him to return for the marriage. They cry: “The Evil God has gone mad! The sky is weeping blood, and the sea is filled with towering tentacles!” The King laments: “I personally offered my crown, but he swiped it away with a flick of his finger from his throne.”
Finding A-Wu’s blood-stained, tattered cloak among the ruins, a heartbroken Bai Rui decides to follow the original plot and die together with the Evil God.
On the wedding night, dressed in a red silk robe, he waits on the bed, repeatedly checking the dagger strapped to his thigh. “Everything ends tonight.”
The door opens. A familiar fragrance fills the air. Bai Rui is suddenly bound by tentacles, his body lines emphasized by the pressure. His chin is forced upward and two tentacles pry open his mouth, writhing inside as physiological tears well up in his eyes. A cold breath brushes against his cheek: “Found you.”
The next morning, Bai Rui wakes up with red-rimmed eyes, his wrists bound in lace, lying atop messy, tangled sheets. As soon as he moves, the Witch Emperor drops the dagger he was playing with. Wearing A-Wu’s familiar face, he presses down on him. “Still thinking of running?”
Bai Rui is shocked, his gland, red and swollen from a vengeful marking, throbbing painfully: “…I can explain.”
The Witch Emperor’s anger has not subsided, his eyes flickering with a dark red glow. “In a moment, drink the bowl of ‘Thumb Soup’ on the table, it’s to protect the pregnancy.” “Then, we’ll finish what you didn’t finish last night because you fainted.”
With red eyes, Bai Rui whispers: “Can you… be a little lighter this time? And don’t take… so long.”
Everyone thought Bai Rui was a dead man walking, assuming his body would eventually be hauled out of the castle to be used as flower fertilizer. Instead, rumors began to spread that the Evil God was doting on his wife, even personally cooking for his “weak and beautiful human spouse.”
The world was stunned. It turned out Bai Rui wasn’t going to die, the Evil God was simply “dead in love.”
